Paul Walker’s brothers will help complete filming for Fast & Furious 7

Above is a photo of Paul Walker with his two brothers, Cody and Caleb, at the 2005 premiere of Into The Blue. The older brother, Caleb, looks just like Paul and I would suspect that over the years Cody has grown closer in looks to his brother as well.

With all the coverage following Walker’s tragic death last November, I’m surprised we didn’t hear about his brothers at all. There’s something comforting in knowing that he had two brothers who were there for him during his rise in Hollywood. Paul’s brothers will be there for him after his passing as well. Fast and The Furious producers have announced that Paul’s brothers will step in to help film the actor’s scenes that are needed to finish Fast & Furious 7. It sounds like most of the filming was done already and that they’ll just be filling in. For some reason this touched me. Here’s the announcement that was made on Facebook:

A Note to the Fans of FAST & FURIOUS

The FAST & FURIOUS saga is about family. The characters are connected by the bond of family, and it is how all of us who have worked together for more than thirteen years feel about each other. It certainly defines how we feel about our fans.

Our family experienced an unthinkable shock in November. We had to take time to grieve Paul, the brother we love and lost, and to figure out if we should move on with our film.

We came together and all felt the only choice was to continue. We believe our fans want that, and we believe Paul would want that too. Paul had already shot his dramatic scenes and most of his action for FAST & FURIOUS 7, and it’s among the strongest work of his career.

We have resumed shooting and now welcome Paul’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, into our FAST family. Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother and fill in small gaps left in production. Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too.

We are just under a year away from the release of FAST & FURIOUS 7, and this film is the most important we’ve ever done together. It will allow the character of Brian O’Conner to live on and let us celebrate Paul in his most defining role.

We wanted to take a moment to speak to our fans directly and thank you for the love and support you always show us as we resume our work.

What a heartfelt statement that is. I have nothing but respect and praise for the way that F&F, and all the cast, have handled themselves in the wake of Paul’s death. You can tell that they were close and that his passing affected them all deeply. Production was shut down on F&F 7 after Walker died and then they waited several months before figuring out what to do about Paul’s scenes. By hiring his brothers, it’s a fitting tribute to a man whom they loved and respected and is a much better way to approach this than just relying on CGI. Plus Paul’s brothers look just like him so it’s also common sense.

I’m not an action movie fan and I haven’t kept up with the Fast and Furious series, but I may have to start watching them now.

Did you see the tribute to Paul Walker that aired at the MTV Movie Awards? It was presented by Jordana Brewster, who played Paul’s love interest in the films. She was visibly choked up and it got to me.

That made me teary eyed, sweet tribute.

  2. Lucy2 says:

Working together that many times, the cast and crew must be very close. This has to be tough for them, finishing the movie without him.

  3. Aurie says:

more up to date pic of the brothers here: https://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-news/paul-walker-s-brothers-finishing-late-actor-s-action-scenes-192313693.html

That said, did anyone else hear about Ice Cube complaining about being robbed of pointless, stupid MTV award? He implied Walker + Diesel got it out of sympathy due to Walker’s death.

Seriously this is just like Drake whining about PSH…..

None of these magazine covers/MTV awards are that important….I could understand if they lost out on a grammy/Oscar or something.

    • CaribbeanLaura says:

IKR. I was like ice cube shut up it’s a Damn mtv movie award not the freaking palm’d’or. Oh and did you see him trying to backtrack making it seem like the media blew his comment out of proportion? SMDH. If kept your fat mouth shut there would be nothing to blow out of proportion would there????

That being said this article made me tear up while waiting in line to buy breakfast.

I know! He said something ridiculous and insensitive (and made a big deal over a piece of crap award) that in no way sounded like a joke, yet somehow it was the media’s fault.

      • I KNOW…I mean seriously. It’s an MTV movie award–it ain’t an Oscar. It’s a stupid, cheesy popcorn award, that NO ONE takes seriously.

  4. Dani2 says:

Every time I see his picture, I get so sad 🙁 He really was loved and cherished by a lot of people.

    🙁

    • V4Real says:

Awwww, hang in there honey. I know this atricle brought those memories rushing back.

      • Miss M says:

Thanks. The Cadillac scene always gets me. It was the first time I remember noticing him and my jaw dropped when he showed up on screen. I saw the trailer for one of his last movies and got goose bumps. 🙁

I’ve not seen any of the films (although they did shoot a portion of this one in my county and it was i n s a n e), but I just came here to say that is quite the good looking trio of brothers.
RIP Mr. Walker, you are obviously loved & missed.

    • Kiddo says:

Seeing the brothers together, it’s like the three bears in Goldilocks: too much, too little and then just right, in terms of appearance. All good, but Paul was definitely the winner of the porridge gene pool in terms of looks.

      • mimif says:

        Ha. Great analogy. 🙂

      • CaribbeanLaura says:

There’s a more recent pic of them upthread. they all hit the genetic jackpot. The youngest one just needed a little time to grow into his face.

      • truthSF says:

Check out the link in Aurie’s post. While the middle Walker still looks the same, the youngest Walker is Paul’s mini-me now that he’s in his 20’s and not a pimpled face teenager like in the first photo.

      • Esmom says:

truthSF, Oh my gosh you’re right. What a difference a few years make! I didn’t realize PW had brothers, reminds me of the Hemsworth clan. I’d imagine that helping with this film is extremely bittersweet.

      • Ha! Kiddo-that’s the perfect way to put it. But as TruthSF said, the youngest one is really adorable now that he’s grown into his looks.

Paul Walker was really gorgeous though….

      • The youngest one looks just like him. Good Lord. He’s hot. I swear, a lot of these male celebrities (LIAM NEESON) should be glad that I’m not a stalker (or rather that I’m too lazy to learn how to hack stuff and track down where they live)…..I have way too many celeb crushes as it is.

  7. MrsBPitt says:

So sad….My son always thought that Paul would have made a great Captain America…

  8. jess says:

I saw vin diesels acceptence speech for their win and you can tell that he was getting choked up as well. I cant imagine how it was walking on that set.

  9. Christin says:

His parents and siblings seemed so genuinely down to earth during the invasive coverage that followed the accident.

Usually I want to suspect it’s all PR, but I admire the way the F&F folks have handled this tragedy. Including his brothers is a thoughtful idea.

  10. Jess says:

The franchise has handled Paul’s death with such respect and this is a wonderful way to honor him, I’m sure his brothers are enjoying the process and being treated well. I saw the first Fast and Furious when it came out because I loved Paul, but never kept up with the others until recently when they started showing them on tv, they’re actually pretty entertaining!

  11. Mitch Buchanan Rocks! says:

They look a bit like the Hanson brothers of MMMbop fame.

  12. Maggie says:

Now that was one gorgeous man! RIP
