Nicole Kidman in Armani at Cannes ‘Grace of Monaco’ premiere: lovely or fug?

wenn21348472

As we discussed yesterday, Grace of Monaco opened the Cannes Film Festival. These photos are from last night’s premiere. Like at yesterday’s photocall, Nicole’s Botox-face was distracting, although I think this Armani Privé gown was doing God’s work to try to distract people from the face. I really like this Armani – it’s a beautiful color, the bead work is incredible and the fit is beautiful. I only have two complaints: I don’t think Nicole’s hair suits the gown, and I kind of wish the entire gown was just like the top part – fitted, with the intricate beading. I feel like this dress should have a name. I will call it “The Maharaja Gown.”

Anyway, the dress is pretty much the best part of Nicole’s Cannes experience. Everything else sucks. Harvey Weinstein even skipped out on the premiere (he’s visiting Syrian refugees…?), and the reviews of Grace of Monaco are TERRIBLE. Go here to read The Telegraph’s interview, which is already going viral because of the use of loaded words like: embarrassment, silly, farce, horror, thoroughly awful. The review does say one nice thing: the costumes are “unironically great.” Yes. Let’s just forget this film was ever made. Let’s forget that for some reason, someone thought it would be a good idea to cast Nicole as a 33-year-old Grace Kelly. Ugh.

I’m also including photos of Blake Lively, wearing Gucci Premiere. This is part of Blake’s Gucci contract, showing up to these kinds of events and wearing Gucci. Honestly, I kind of love this gown. Again, the color is fantastic, the design is so-so, and Blake styled it well. My one complaint is that the fit in the bust makes Blake’s bolt-ons look really “hard.”

Her clothes are always great, but her ‘work’ officially makes her look older than she would otherwise.

    • BangersandMash says:

If she stopped putting on fillers and botoxing, would her face sag at a faster rate?
I’m just asking because that’s what I heard… my friend said that when you get off that stuff, “God, you really look like sh-t.” More so than you would had you not done it. Theory being that when you inject these things, your face numbs up and relaxes (i use the word, relaxes very loosely here) so when you get off of it, to make it active again, the skin and the muscles find it difficult and you end up looking super tired.

So I guess, Nicole got herself into a catch 22…. IF it’s true. If not…

STOP!!! Put down the needle!!! WALK AWAY FROM THE FILLERS!!! Please!!

      • Stef Leppard says:

        *SHRIEK!!!* FILLERS!!

      • The Wizz says:

I don’t think Botox does (I get it and quite often are too lazy to get it done again any faster than every 12 months) the muscle usage returns and the lines that were coming from them return no different to if I hadn’t used it. Those cheek fillers though I can imagine May cause some long term damage as it looks like they are stretching the skin.

      • Belle Epoch says:

She should NOT pose while looking down. It really accentuates the un-naturalness of her face. She looks like a Real Housewife of Hollywood.

      • SoCal gal says:

I am a fair skinned redhead. I first noticed forehead wrinkles in my early 20s. It made me look twice as old as I was. My experience with Botox has been largely positive. I finally broke down and started getting Botox at 28. I used to have to get it every 3 months but have been doing it so long (8 years) the muscle has atrophied so I only need touch ups every 6 to 8 months.

I have no idea why Nicole’s face looks like that. My only guess is fillers in addition to Botox.

      • maynot says:

SoCal gal I think you are now in your 30s, she is in her 40s, Maybe your skin and muscle tone recover faster than hers . Besides, I think that bleaching compulsively your skin the way she has been doing for years causes severe damages in the long term .

      • JennySerenity says:

Granny Freeze bleaches her skin…? WtF??

      • Annie says:

@ SoCal gal – that’s because you are doing botox only as often as you are supposed to get it – Nicole is most likely doing it way, waaay to often that is the problem…also, it sounds like you don’t get fillers as well, just the ‘tox? It’s overdone fillers that are the biggest culprit when it comes to making people look weird, rather than botox.

  2. feebee says:

Love it or hate it, she’s rarely wears uninteresting.

  3. blue marie says:

Oh, I like the dress but not on Nicole, that second picture down might give me nightmares.
Blake looks good, I like her dress too.

    • Eve says:

Super creepy. Honestly, I haven’t seen a single flattering picture of her face during these photocalls and premieres for Grace Of Monaco.

      • Tiffany27 says:

Her face looks so painful. I just want to give her a Tylenol extra strength every time she tries to smile.

      • Liv says:

I can’t forget what Lainey said, that Botox can make you drooling! How can she do that to herself? She was such a beautiful woman before.

      • Kiddo says:

It’s so sad, I really can’t even snark, because I feel like she is suffering from an illness. It looks so incredibly botched.

      • blue marie says:

Me either and her face seems to be getting worse.

      • Eve says:

        @ Kiddo:

Me neither. I just have questions about it — does she think she looks good after these procedures? Does she check the press pictures? Isn’t there anyone to tell her about the comments stating her face looks frozen (at best)? At this point I think she should undertake a proper plastic surgery — you know, go for the knife already. Botox is destroying her face.

And to think Cate Blanchett is only 2 years younger than her…

      • Kiddo says:

@Eve, I know, I don’t get it at all. I certainly would feel more mortified with those type of images than the presence of wrinkles showing up in photos. That’s why there has to be some serious underlying emotional thing going on.

It’s not at the same level (yet), but I always wondered whether Michael Jackson peered into the mirror and actually thought he looked better than he did with his original face, which is obviously a big NO.

      • Esmom says:

Kiddo and bluemarie, It definitely seems worse and I mentioned yesterday it almost looks like she’s suffering from a neurological condition, like maybe she had a stroke. Something is really off with her left eye. If this is an illness, I feel for her. If this is purely cosmetic, I still feel for her.

      • Anna says:

Hey face is scary. I am a fan of Botox in the forehead and this is not a Botox face. There’s more going on. It looks painful, and I feel horrible for her bc she used to be one of premiere Hollywood beauties, if not THE defining glam movie star of the last couple of decades.

Love the dress regardless, but WTF does it have to be sheer again??

      • holly hobby says:

Cate Blanchett looks beautiful – wrinkles and all.

I really think she started messing with her face after TOmmy Cruise dumped her. THat’s when you can see all the funny stuff to the face.

That second picture should be banned. It will put the fear of God into little children and animals.

      • Sacred And Profane says:

“And to think Cate Blanchett is only 2 years younger than her…”
That’s right, Eve, Ms Blanchett is a bit younger, but is catching up very quickly to looking like Ms Kidman – a wax doll that has been snap frozen.

      • Mitch Buchanan Rocks! says:

But out of any of the stars who use Botox, it can’t be denied that Nicole is the best of the Botox Bunch – even if she looks creepy, she carries it off somehow.

    • Crank says:

Her poor face. I’m not wild about the square beaded section where the pattern ends midway…looks like a loincloth lol

      • Lucky says:

It does look painful but I also wonder about the unforgiving bright sunlight…? Maybe….? She is such a unique beauty, such a shame.

      • Eleonor says:

Painful I agree, I have headache only looking at her…

    • Spikey says:

+ 1. Can anyone enlighten me on why messing with your face to an extent that you actually have mild cellulite on your cheeks is a better alternative than wrinkles?!

      • Joh says:

I think it is about looking a certain age to get work.
Tying to get parts after the age of 30.
Women have such a short shelf life to get roles, that they feel a need to do tis even if it stops looking like them.
        JMHO

      • Delorb says:

        @Joh,

Some of this is her own doing. Instead of going for roles that would be age appropriate, she’s clinging to the past. Someone should tell her that she can’t play the virginal ingenue anymore.

    • doofus says:

yeah, that second pic is SCARY.

    • Eleonor says:

I really like the Gucci dress too !

    • QQ says:

Ditto you guys… It’s like an Undead Doll ….with a gorgeous dress

The eyes are super freaky this go round!!

    • kri says:

I love both of these dresses. And please, Nicole stop it.

    • Dommeh Dearest says:

She looks like Brandi, you know the one that always feuds with He-Man and her ex-husband.

      • NewWester says:

That second pic looks like she is doing a close-up for a remake of The Omen or Death Becomes Her

  4. Abbott says:

Some needs to hit CTL+ALT DEL on Nicole’s face bc that thing is frozen. Love the dress though.

    God, Blake is gorgeous.

    • Jegede says:

What’s really odd about Nicole Kidman, is that when she was in her 20s she often spoke on the benefits of staying naturally pale.

Staying out of the sun was/is a great idea as she naturally freckled and it helped to keep her skin supple and undamaged thereby negating the need for any future surgery or botox.

Its sounds very logical, but something must have gone wrong somewhere; cause she seems to have had more work done than most!

      • Rice says:

I remember that interview. I thought it made sense for someone so pale. But clearly, she isn’t follwing that idealogy any more. On a positive not, her dress is beautiful.

I like Blake’s dress but not the braid. It looks like woven straw.

  5. lucy2 says:

Nicole’s dress is a little too odd for me. It’s probably better in person, but from a distance it looks like someone went nuts with a bedazzler.
    I like Blake’s.

    • MrsBPitt says:

I agree…I really don’t like the dress at all…to much! And NOTHING will help distract from THAT FACE!

  6. in_theory says:

She’s trying so hard to move her face on the second pic, but it just won’t work.

    • Froggy says:

They must have to hide the mirrors in her house because if I did that to my face and had to look at it every day, I’d have a nervous breakdown.

      • in_theory says:

Personally, I think that with this kind of extensive messing with your face must come a sort of blindness to the fact how alien you start to look. What puzzles me is that they seem to have no-one around to give them an honest opinion. And what’s the point anyway? Is there a not-so-young-anymore actress in Hollywood with a very interfered-with face that has actually landed good roles because she tries to look younger than she is? I mean, yes, Kidman got the gig to play a woman more than ten years her junior, but the outcome seems less than successful.

      • justme says:

That is what I’ve always wondered. I mean if there is a role for a younger woman wouldn’t Hollywood just give it to a younger woman? There is no shortage of gorgeous young women going into acting after all.

When you freeze and botox and fill your face full of fillers like this the only roles which might be available are roles about women who freeze and botox and fill their faces full of fillers. You can’t play normal people anymore. A good role playing a middle-aged woman is going to go to someone who looks like a real (if prettier and slimmer than typical) middle-aged woman.

      • holly hobby says:

@in-theory Meg Ryan is a perfect example. She can no longer get jobs because she screwed up her face. People like to say that she’s typecast as the romantic lead but they forget that before she became America’s Sweetheart, she was on a soap opera and she was very good. So it’s her looks not her ability to act.

It says a lot that the biggest job she got was a voice over part for How I Met Your Dad (which has since been shelved).

    • Aye says:

I just think about Meryl Streep, who looks so stunning yet natural. But then you compare Nicole – a natural redhead – with people like Lucy Liu and Jennifer Lopez or even Julianne Moore (another nat redhead) and you do realise why some people think they need more work than others. It’s a tough industry to be in but Nicole has lost perspective!

      • in_theory says:

I agree, the industry is tough, and it is immeasurably tougher on aging women than it is on aging men. But that’s not going to change as long as women like Kidman keep playing by the industry’s rules while actually being in a very good position to speak up against it concerning its f*d-up ideals about looking youthful when you’re 50.

  7. PunkyMomma says:

Nicole’s dress is to die for – so are Blake’s earrings.

  8. GiGi says:

I’m sorry – I love the dress – but THAT FACE.

Yesterday some of you were asking how the faces get to that point… why no one is say, stopping Madonna from looking like Madame. Well, a little story – my mom just had a procedure. She’s almost 60 and had lost all the volume from her face. So she had a vampire facial (without synthetic fillers, just using her own blood). After one treatment you could see a difference – her cheeks were full and undereye bags diminished, but she still has wrinkles and still looks her age – just more well rested. She’s totally happy with the results from the one procedure. Well, the Dr. keeps wanting her to come back for one or two more treatments! She’s sane, so she’s not going to do it.

But imagine if your career was built on your face or your youth and you had a Dr. telling you he could get rid of all your wrinkles… it might be alluring. IMO, women like Michelle Pfeiffer and Sharon Stone have got it just right – they’ve had things done, I’m sure, but both still have wrinkles and neither are trying to look 20. That’s where things get creepy! Plus a lot of these very plastic looking women see Dr. Brandt… have you ever seen him!?!?!

    • Black orchid says:

Good Lord! he paints them all alike , he actually resembles Andy warhol Back from the DEAD, Don;t they get creeped by his hideousness?

      • GiGi says:

I know! At this point Madonna looks more like Dr. Brandt than she does like Madonna *shudder*

    • GiGi says:

Oh – and Robin Wright – now THAT’S great use of botox!

    • littlestar says:

I actually want to try that vampire facial one day! I’ve heard about it before, kinda gory, but the results seem worth it. And yes, procedures like that can get addictive, especially if you have a doctor who is pressuring you to do more. I’ve had photo facial lasers done, and if I had the money, would do them several times a year. I guess my empty wallet is what is keeping me from going crazy with cosmetic stuff lol.

Nicole’s face just makes me so sad. She is one of my favourite actors of all time, and was sooo beautiful once she left Tom and made it big on her own. I wonder what she would look like now had she just let herself age naturally? A million times better, I have no doubt.

    • GByeGirl says:

I totally think that you need to wait a bit before you start the facial tweaking, like your mom did. Now that I’m 40, I’m looking into IPL stuff and retinols. I’ve been good about SPF and shade for the last 25 years. I’ll likely get a subtle lift and my eyes done when I’m in my 60s. I can deal with a lot of the things that come with aging, but I refuse to get a waddle under my chin, or to let my eyes get so crepey that I can barely see out of them.

  9. GeeMoney says:

I like Nicole’s dress… but her face is not looking so good.

  10. Jegede says:

Blake is there because of her L’Oreal contract not Gucci
Same as Karlie Kloss and Zoe Saldana

  11. Micah says:

Beautiful gown, and very interesting to look at. I think it would look better on someone else though. She’s so pale and a little washed out looking….the gown is actually eclipsing Nicole.

I think it would look better on someone with a bit more color in their skin tone.

Blake in Gucci looks great…a little meh…but great.

  12. nicole says:

I’ll ignore the movie stuff of this post and get down to it. Nicole’s arms are fantastic! I want them! And I do really love that dress.

Blake… hasn’t she worn that exact outfit before? The red cutout dress with this high ponytail braid? Although, I’m glad she’s there. It makes Cannes even more fun 🙂

    • ldub says:

she wore a red dress with similar styling, esp the hair, to the Emmys a couple of years ago. Still is a great look though.

    • original kay says:

nice arms, but for her elbows.

elbows and knees give age away.

  13. brionne says:

I like Nicole Kidman’ s hair when it is a but more red/strawberry. She is so pale. Doesn’t she live in Nashville now? How is she maintaining that deathly parlor in the southern heat and Sun?

    • CuriousCole says:

I imagine sunhats are employed (she’s worn them in Australia before). I’m quite pale and I enjoy wide-brimmed SPF sunhats in the summer, which can also give my nose a break from sunglasses.

    • Amulla says:

She is naturally pale, which looks great. I am pale also and many people lecture me about how I should be going to tanning beds to make myself darker. I just laugh at them.

I’ve also been lectured by other women to wear pantyhose to “cover up my pale legs” and again – I show off my pale legs to maximum effect. I refuse to wear dark hose or use self tanners.

      • Sacred And Profane says:

Pale skin is perfect, Amulla! I adore it and detest tans. Tanning beds are being phased out in Australia, thanks to Clair Oliver, a young woman who died after contracting cancer from them. One of my best friends visited last week. After she moved away from our area and her marriage breakdown, she lost a huge amount of weight and looked fantastic. However, she’s gone too far and is beginning to look haggard. She turned up with a very dark spray tan. I told her to stop with the tanning, as she has natural, beautiful, pale olive skin. When she asked why, I told her honestly – combined with the unnecessary extra weight she’s lost, the dark tan makes her look older and haggard.

Nicole used to be a real beauty, with her own unique look. There was the height, pale skin and gorgeous, tightly-curled strawberry-blonde hair. Now she looks generically fake, like so many others in the industry. For a girl, and now woman, who used to regularly speak about her commitment to natural methods to look as good as she did (staying out of the sun, or at least lathering her skin with highest-factor sunscreen, healthy diet, exercise and natural skin/beauty regimen), what the hell happened to her? There is nothing natural left of her. Ugh.

  14. Longhorn says:

Nicole’s come hither look is botox-warped. How does she not freak out her hubby with that crazy look?

    • Hautie says:

I was thinking the same thing. Geez, that is a creepy come hither look! But I actually laughed when I saw it.

So yea… it is time for Nicole to walk away from the needles. Even the texture of her forehead looks tough. She has a lovely face without all the crazy. And sadly she is moving into Joan Rivers/Madame territory now.

And for the love of all things holy… Nicole needs to stop the obsession with being blonde. She has yet to pick a shade of blonde that has flatter her what so ever. Especially when being a pretty medium auburn, flatters her coloring so well.

    • Stef Leppard says:

      He’s overly botoxed too.

  15. Mimz says:

I just came here to say that Blake looks fantastic even if she has worn this exact colour before it clearly works and she’s gorgeous.

Nicole… I used to be a huge fan of her beauty and she ruined everything : face, hair… Ok her body still looks great.

I just might watch moulin rouge tonight :/

  16. Maria says:

Blake looks stunning, given her career or lack thereof, her style should be on point.

I also think she was one of the best dressed at the Met Gala too.

    No comment on Nicole.

It’s hard enough being an aging woman without fame, I can’t imagine the attention paid on me much less knowing my “worth” was directly tied to my looks.

    • sullivan says:

      +1 Blake does look spectacular.
Aging must be quite scary for someone whose career is based on her looks, but Nicole is actually a talented actress. The thing is, she’d probably be a very attractive middle-aged woman if she’d just age naturally or with just a bit of help.

      • mercy says:

That’s the saddest part: she IS talented but she still feels the kind of pressure that leads to such drastic work. She would have been so much better off opting to maintain and improve upon what she already has rather than trying to look like a thirtysomething blonde starlet.

    • Calcifer says:

@ Maria: I agree. Terrible having to age while the whole world is watching. Difficult having to resist the lure of ‘age-defying procedures’ like botox and fillers. I am glad I have the luxury of resisisting that, because I am not famous.

  17. DavidBowie says:

Wow, she is really trying to muster up some kind of facial expression. She looks so creepy.

  18. elo says:

Seeing photos of Nicole Kidman always saddens me. I really loved her when she was young and natural. She has done far to much to her face and it is a damn shame. Why can’t celebrities see that they look better with less work and more aging naturally. Also she must be damn near 50, why is she playing a 33 year old?

  19. Hannah says:

Harvey Weinstein is visiting Syrian refugees? Haven’t they already suffered enough?
(Somebody had to do that joke.)

  20. KatNotNice says:

It’s just sad at this point.

  21. The Wizz says:

I don’t get why she’s going for the zombie white colouring on her face, surely a mild heathy glow would make her look younger than any tox or fillers.

  22. poppy says:

wow. for her to keep doing this to her face, despite the sh!t-ton negative comments, ugh. even the press is commenting harshly. she knows.
she has to be extremely insecure and overly vain to keep it up.
there are some nice details about the dress but there are some hideous ones as well, the cheap lace, the fact from certain angles it looks like blue and white gingham table cloth, and the see-through sheerness of the lace when she walked, and her face.
    that face is ruining everything.

  23. Sarah says:

God, Nicole looks horrific. Just awful. The dress is pretty but nothing can distract from that face. At what point does she stop getting work – and by work I mean paying work as opposed to work done on her face – because of how she looks? Won’t that be ironic.

  24. Hissyfit says:

I like Nicole’s dress but that face looks bad. Can she do anything to make it look less scary? I feel bad for her. She used to be naturally pretty.

Why is Blake there? Anyway, she looks great as always. I love the dress on her!

  25. mercy says:

Who is telling Nicole this work she keeps having done to her face looks good? She’s a fine actress, seems like a nice person, great body, and she knows how to dress. But the face… she probably wasn’t going to age as well as someone with stronger bone structure and features, but she didn’t have to end up like this.

Blake looks good… the dress is simple, but it’s a nice colour on her and the jewelry is great. She does look a little fuller around the midsection. It’s probably the pleats… or are the sweets finally catching up with her? 😉

    • Lori says:

What work? She’s not doing anything to her face!!! That’s her natural face! Bahahahaha

  26. Tiffany says:

Props to all involved for doing the promotion of the film. One thing about Nicole is she follows through when it come to promoting her work.

  27. magpie says:

Nicole never should have played Grace and Naomi never should have played Diana. I’m not saying that they are old, but they are too old for those parts. Who thought this was a good idea and how are these women so delusional that they thought they could do these roles?

  28. Belle Epoch says:

The film – is it even finished? Does it have a US release date? Is Weinstein crazy to want a “lighter tone”? Was Monaco ever excited about it? Because they detest it now.

  29. Tig says:

Absolutely love Nichole’s gown- the fit, the color, everything. Her face-hoo boy. I watched a movie the other night( barking dog bad) but it starred Isabelle Huppert, Isabelle Adjani and Marie Pilisier( and yes I know I have butchered the spellings- in a bit of a rush) but those women’s faces were amazing- no ‘toxing/fillers- and they are about same age as Nicole. Wish she would follow their example!

    • manta says:

Well, the only film with those 3 actresses together is Les soeurs Brontë and it’s 35 years old.
And for the last decade(s) in France,3 or 4 actresses have been constant targets for satirists because of the way they messed with their face: Isabelle Adjani, Emmanuelle Béart, Nathalie Baye and Catherine Deneuve (the last one seems to stay away for the knife nowadays, her recent films/pictures actually show a more natural look).

Huppert is the only one who seems to have spared her face from any procedure, but she’s always been bada$$.

      • Tig says:

Oops- no wonder they looked so good! I read it was a 2006 film. How about I default to
Isabelle H ( again!) and Charlotte Rampling? Yes, CR is much older but her face is amazing!

  30. Aysla says:

This is really sad. Nicole is one of the most talented actresses living today, but now even her acting has become a joke when she can barely move her facial muscles. She is starting to go into Meg Ryan territory, the person everyone in Hollywood should look to as a cautionary tale of how cosmetic procedures can permanently ruin your looks.

Wrinkles are a part of life, and they’re a hell of a lot more beautiful than muppet-face.

    • mary simon says:

Let’s not forget Meg’s plastic surgery doppelganger, Melanie Griffith. Both of these women destroyed their very successful careers with unnecessary, extreme p.s. Both were fairly young, (though not by Hollywood standards, I know), when they did the damage, and still had any number of good years left. I wonder what it’s like for a woman with bad p.s. to look at the damage in the mirror every morning and know that it didn’t have to happen?

      • serena says:

Yup, totally right! They’re full of lies, even to themselves, otherwise they would know just looking at the mirror.

  31. Karen says:

I don’t love Blake Lively, but I do love that she always looks like a movie star.

  32. mary simon says:

Plastic surgery and fillers are so iffy – you never know what will happen, like swellings, lumps and bumps and infections and allergic reactions. Whatever Nicole had done did not have time to settle and she looks freaky. Never try a new hair color, or a new hairstyle right before an event, and obviously, don’t have any procedures in case something goes awry – as it did here.

  33. babyb says:

I’m sorry for Nicole, this movie had written ‘mess’ since its first day. She is the industry since a long time and she should have known better… but again, one that shows up in Cannes looking that ‘toxed and all doesn’t really know..does it? Ugh, I can’t even comment on her dress. That face..

  35. Jade says:

Gosh I feel sorry for her…anyway does anyone know if your face will reach that if you only get botox at the jawline? I’m contemplating that for a softer jaw.

  36. Anguishedcorn says:

It’s so sad, how creepy she looks.

  37. someone says:

I like the dress a lot in theory, but I don’t like the nude aspect of it. Had it had a lining of light purple satin rather than the see through netting it would have been stunning.

What is it with the nude see through material lately? Like Beyonce’s Met dress. Why not put a nice lining under it and let the dress shine? The see thru stuff makes them look half dressed.

  38. heigl says:

    Blake bores me to death.

  39. OTHER RENEE says:

Blake. Dark roots. No. No. No.

  40. Maggie says:

Beautiful dress, fabulous figure but the face!!! Botox never looks good or too much filler.

  41. Lexie says:

Love the gown on Nicole, but my god – her breasts look awful. They’re so high and unnaturally full at the top, they look like they belong on a porn star 🙁

  42. Jayna says:

It looks like the filler has gone down a little. She looks much better than the day before, plus softer makeup. I think she looks beautiful.

The gown is stunning, but I would imagine a photo doesn’t do it justice. The color, the detail, the fabric is so beautiful. I love her hair also

Blake has a slammin’ body, but she always looks a little budget in the face when going for the sophisticated expression while posing for the camera.

  43. shellybean says:

What I don’t understand is that Nicole had always taken great care of her skin, staying out of the sun and such. She had perfect skin and almost no wrinkles when she first started botoxing and putting fillers in her face. She didn’t even need them! She was so beautiful (see Practical Magic days), and she really was one of my favorite actresses. I liked her in everything. Then I saw her in Margot at the Wedding, and that was the first time I noticed her face looked odd, and it was really distracting and took away from her performance (for me). Ever since then I just don’t enjoy her as an actress like I used to. Her face is just beyond distracting. It’s such a shame. She is extremely talented and she needed no work done at all. I hate seeing her like this. She must have some serious self esteem issues.

    • Jayna says:

Exactly. She started with the lips first, which were so bizarre in Australia and Margot, and then the fillers and botox started happening, which were out in full force in the Margot’s Wedding movie. She was stunning before. I couldn’t finish Margot’s Wedding because of how she looked. She did let back up because she looked good in The Rabbit Hole and in the Hemingway & Gellhorn HBO movie.

But as you said, she started it when she was so pretty. There was no reason to go off the deep end like she did with those trout lips and fillers and botox.

    • Penny says:

She doesn’t just have extremely pale skin, she also has very thin, very dry skin. Often people with that skin type end up with crepe-y skin before deeper wrinkles start showing and about 6-7 years ago I was starting to see a little of that on Kidman. That sort of aging can make you look really old as it’s something that people with better skin tone won’t see happening until their late 60’s. I can see why fillers especially would be enticing to someone who started seeing that appear. She’s gone too far, but I don’t think she was going to age particularly well anyway. Her sister is three years younger and has more of an olive complexion but recently she’s aged a good decade in the span of a year and a half and it’s all down to her skin tone, so skin that ages well just isn’t in their genes.

  44. zut alors! says:

Someone needs to have a come to Jesus talk with Nicole about her facial enhancements. Isn’t her dad a psychologist? I volunteer him.

    • Jayna says:

She had really backed off last year on everything. Someone must have gotten through to her. Even in the clips of the movie her face was flatter, not like the chipmunk cheeks. This is an interview last year. Her lips were totally back down, not the trout pout look and her face wasn’t so overfilled. She had quit botox because her eyebrows were back down. She looked so pretty here I though, more like the old Nicole. Her hear was more in the red category. With her lips back down and less filler, she coud really smile and laugh like she used to. But then she has these red carpet events and she reverts back to her lips and cheeks again with too much filler.

      Nicole on Ellen last year:

      • CuriousCole says:

Lips deflate??? OMG that is an unpleasant thought, even if they weren’t real. But Nicole did look a lot better last year, thank you for the reminder Jayna.

  45. Dawn says:

I think I would love Nicole’s dress if the front didn’t have that stuff hanging down. But it does and even so I love the back and I love the color I can only like the dress. But I like it far more than whatever Blake Lively is wearing…that dress has a serious case of the uglies.

  46. tessy says:

Sad. The second picture of Nicole is scary, it looks like something out of a horror flick. It doesn’t look anything like her.

Neither of those women look like real people anymore, they look like wax out of Mme Tussaud’s (sp?) museum.

  47. jane16 says:

The dress is gaudy and her face looks creepy. I see this more and more with the women I know who have abused botox for years and years. The inner part of the eyebrows eventually sags dows over the inner eye corners and gives a weird look to the face. Also, the quality of the skin looks weird and rubberty. I have never once used botox or fillers. I do face exercises a couple of times a week. I do not understand how anyone can think they can put poison in their skin and not have something bad come out of it.

    • Kimbob says:

Yeah, the botox, or whatever it is they’re using….makes them look mean. It gives them an ugly, evil scowl on their face. Nicole Kidman doesn’t look ANYTHING like she used to when she first came into the business. Compare photos….it’s awful, just awful. And these actors/actresses must really be drinking the Kool-Aid to not see it. I think they are just seriously deluding themselves.

Shout out to Kaiser…if you haven’t already done so, could you do a post of Kidman w/before & after photos? That would really tell the story.

  48. Camille (The Original) says:

Awful dress, I hate it. She looks terrible.

Blake on the hard looks gorgeous.

  49. siri says:

Nicole really is turning into another person with those fillers/botox. It’s sad, and I don’t understand her husband here. She must be highly insecure, because I don’t think she needed any of this. I also dislike the dress, too much going on in front. Her hair neither looks good, nor healthy. I just hope she wakes up, and stops doing this to herself.

  50. mary simon says:

I like Nicole’s dress – dramatic and very ‘Game of Thrones’ and she wears it well. Too bad about her face, and the back of her hair looks damaged and corpse-y. Blake’s hair looks frizzy, too – must be humid there.

  51. MsT_Shady says:

I don’t understand why she doesn’t move her lacefront wigs DOWN a little. She has a very large forehead: all she needs to do is move it down an inch or two…

  52. zana says:

It seems Blake has new breast implants.

  53. Isa says:

    Blake’s earrings are everything!

  54. cr says:

looking at the larger versions of Nic’s photos, I’m now distracted by the unevenness in her boobs.

  55. H.E.H. says:

I wish whoever did Blake’s braid could have taken care of Nicole’s nappy nest of hair as well.

  56. Liz says:

Nicole’s dress from far away looks cheap. The lower half looks budget. I hope all the bad publicity will make her re-think going overboard on cosmetic procedures. I’d love to have someone expose which doctor is doing this to her face. Please!!! Something nice – she has a great back and arms.

I love Blake’s posing! There is something about her face that is very cheap. She cannot look expensive.

  57. Maria of MD says:

Why oh why did Nicole mess up her face in the first place? She looked perfectly fine before.

  58. taxi says:

Ooh! I want a beaded cocktail apron too!
