Presenter Kate Hudson was in one of the most revealing dresses at the Globes last night. I’m going to be a little snarky and say that all that skin distracted from whatever she had done to her face, probably a touch of Botox. She didn’t look outrageously different, but you could tell she’d done a little something. Kate was in this deep v-neck Versace gown that reminds me of two other famously revealing Versace numbers, worn by Elizabeth Hurley and Jennifer Lopez. Fun fact: both of those dresses have their own Wikipedia pages. Kate’s dress wasn’t quite up there in terms of memorability, but this was a fun, bold look and she really pulled it off. She definitely has the physique for it. Her hair, makeup and jewelry were perfection too. Well done.
Also looking a little pinched but otherwise incredible with have Catherine Zeta-Jones in a blood red strapless Angel Sanchez gown. I love how the hemline is just right above the ground, making it look like she’s floating. The dress also features a draped slightly asymmetrical bustline that has two trailing ends similar to a small silk scarf. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that detail on a gown before and it’s clever. Overall a great look from Zeta-Jones and positively regal.
Helen Mirren was also rocking red in a fitted Dolce & Gabbana gown with a floral sequin pattern around a scoop neckline. She wore a pen as a brooch in honor of the murdered journalists in France. Other celebrities similarly carried tributes to Charlie Hebdo including Amal Clooney and Kathy Bates. The Daily Mail has a nice overview here. Helen is flawless as usual. Her drop earrings are excellent. Helen was nominated Best Actress In A Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, for The Hundred Foot Journey. That went to Amy Adams.

Helen Mirren is a siren in that dress! She should have been the headliner of this thumbnail. Something about Kate’s boobs in that dress is not quite right, maybe a bit saggy?

I think Kate has a great body but I just cannot with her, I don’t think I have seen any film probably on purpose where she is marginally good.

Those ears. CZJ and Kate need ear covering hair styles! Maybe its just an optical illusion but CZJ’s ears look really elongated and Kates just plain stick out to the point where it looks like they might wave at you.

I think she looks good here if a bit try-hard since she’s no longer the young ingenue. But every time I see pictures of her, all I can think of is that while she shows up at all the acting awards shows, etc., she has NO acting career to speak of anymore. She has made comments about taking time off for her kids but that doesn’t cover up the fact that she isn’t appearing in anything these days. She’s lapsed into being a “celebrity”, someone who used to be famous for something (her movies) and now is just famous for being famous.
Plus girl is single now-and she can never be single for long. She’s got to look fierce to snag her next side piece.
The killer bod is a distraction from the bad acting in crap movies.

Kate Hudson’s dress is ok – the girl bugs though. She always seems to be on a man hunt. Plus those eyebrows are way too dramatic – kind of reminds me of angry baby from the Simpsons. Catherine and Helen look lovely.
I can’t even see it as OK is because the dress is the white re-interpretation of the infamous Liz Hurley’s safety pin black at the Four Weddings and a Funeral premiere.

Has Catherine Z J done something (a lot of things) to her face? She looks just like Posh Spice Beckham. While it´s not for me personally I think that Catherine Z J has always known how to dress for her body and personality, so she always looks very elegant. The fillers/botox/facelift or whatever was a bad idea, though. Helen Mirren, always classy. Face, clothes and body.

Kate’s face looked fine but I don’t like the dress. The front is too open. I think her ears are cute.
She looks completely different. Looks like she had a face lift, the fillers in the cheeks and lips. I think she has those wrinkles at her mouth that smokers have and she filled some of those in.

Which honestly, if a lady is going to have the face lift work done. She is at that age where it can be done… and maintain her original face. Just a nicely freshen up version of it. 🙂
I liked Kate’s dress but my first thought after seeing pictures of her were that her makeup and hair team obviously stood her up.
Stunning but too much blush and hard make up but she still manages to look stunning with that Body,ody,ody!
Yes-!makeup was way too heavy for her and the too dark brows looked severe.

Yes on the bad makeup. I was having a hard time figuring out if she did something to her face, or if it was just really bad makeup. After looking at pics today, I think its a combination of both.
Okay, I hate try hard posing on an awards red carpet when you’re not nominated, or was in something that WAS nominated. I mean, pose, because that’s what you’re there for, but leave the try-hardness for someone who’s there for more of a reason than to get drunk, party, and take pictures.
I can’t remember the last time I saw a Kate Hudson movie–actually I do–it was that Horrific Bride Wars movie. What does she do but pose on red carpets?
I guess she works out a lot. She probably has ample time for it.

Her makeup so-so. Usually her makeup artist does a great job making her prettier than she is with great false eyelashes and pale lipstick. It transforms her. This makeup didn’t do much for her eyes or lips or eyebrows. Something looked off.
Still, she always wears a gown beautifully with the long lines of her body and her posture.
Catherine Zeta Jones floated across the stage in her gown. She looked beautiful and fresh with her hair and makeup, not overdone. Great look.
Helen Mirren and Jane Fonda, I bow down to these exquisite women. Helen’s hair looked softer and healthier and a better cut than Goopy’s usually does, who is like 25 years younger. Goopy maybe should get tips from Helen. LOL
I read Jane’s boyfriend got overheated (It was hot in that room), and the paramedics were called, but he was okay. He has Parkinson’s.
Kate looks stunning! Miss thing has a rockin body. Helen Mirren is just timeless. Jury is still out on Catherine though.
Very few people could wear that dress but Hudson pulled it off. I’ll give her props for that.

She has a fantastic body, but I hated the dress for reasons I’m not sure I can articulate. Something about it has like a Dallas Cheerleader’s quality to it. And then the make-up and hair seemed severe in styling as an accompaniment. I still don’t think I hit on what it is that doesn’t jibe for me. Maybe it’s the white.

Hudson doesn’t have a face for flashy makeup and those eyebrows looked horrible. The dress was tacky.
CZJ’s nose looks like it’s returning to its original shape and size.
I’m not particularly fond of Kate Hudson – she isn’t a great talent and her movies are forgettable – but as soon as she stepped on the stage (I skipped the red carpet), my jaw dropped. She looked incredible. Very sexy.
Helen and Kate Beckinsale were best dressed IMHO. And Viola, whose dress colour and top were similar to Helen’s. So elegant, the three of them, and just beautiful.
Catherine’s dress was a bit too try hard for me, but the colour was great. Hated her hair though.
And I thought KH was too try hard with her ” I am too sexy for any of you…” Dress. The back and the sides alone would have been enough. The cleavage was too much. And again, boring hair….
CZJ’s dress looks like it came from David’s Bridal.
Kate’s face was noticeably pinched. The severe hair just called more attention to it. Though her fogure really is amazing to pull offthat dress.
I love all of these dresses, but I can’t stop looking at Kate’s eyebrows and zeta-jones unrecognizable face.

Kate looks kind of cheap here, and makeup wise overdone, somehow stiff. Would be nice to see more classic styles, without all the boobs hanging out. I mean- it’s like the naked awards, Rosamund Pike, Sienna Miller, J.Lopez…why? Convince people with quality work, then you don’t need this attention grabbing, half-naked posing. My favorites were in the red category: Viola Davis, Helen, Christine Baransky, CZJ. Only exception: Diane Kruger, who still would have benefited from a bold red lip with it.
Out of these three, I actually like Kate’s dress the best, even though I know next to nothing about who she is or what she’s done. I think fashion has very little if anything to do with talent or the quality of one’s work in any field- whether it’s acting, singing, modeling, or anything else. A person can be talented or create good work and enjoy sexy gowns, or have little to no talent in an area and dress modestly, or vice versa.
I kind of like the dress Catherine Zeta Jones has on too- it’s the color.

My idol Helen looks fabulous as always! I like the pen as a brooch as it is very clever and meaningful. Kate’s figure is fantastic and so the styling makes sense to me but I’m not a fan of her makeup. Catherine’s dress is stunning. Yet, all I can do when I look at her close up photo is compare her to what I see in the mirror because we are the same age. She’s obviously very Botoxy. I also heard a rumor some years ago that she had her eyes done and that she may or may not lie about her age. However, I can understand all of these things given her profession and I’ve seen worse Botox.
Catherine’s eyes look like something out of a Twilight movie in the one pic. Slightly red tint to them! But both women look stunning, IMO.
Mirren is delightful, as ever. CZJ looks zonked.
I’m in total agreement with most of the comments about KH. There’s no denying she has an incredible body, but that dress is very try-hard. She seems to have this “I’m so hot, and cool, and famous” smugness about her. If she wasn’t Goldie Hawn’s daughter, and if she didn’t have kids with famous rock stars would anyone really care about her? I mean, she’s not a terrible actress but she’s not all that great either. Can you tell I’m not much of a fan? 😉

I dislike Kate Hudson. I’m not too sure why. Could be that she seems very, very full of herself. From the neck down she looks amazing. I can’t stand the smug look on her face though. And I have a question. Had she not had a couple of breast enhancements (I’m pretty sure these are her #2 boobs – the first set weren’t so prominent), would we all still be saying she had a bangin’ bod? Her original set which were her own were tiny and she’d look rather athletic had she kept them.
When I first saw Kate on the red carpet I thought it was Sharon Stone!! I don’t think that bodes well for the much younger Kate.
I love Helen Mirren. I adore her style. And if I had Kate’s body, I would wear the hell out of that dress! But this 50 year old body has NEVER looked that good!

I’m not a fan of Kate Hudson but have to admit she looks great in that dress – although it’s also very try hard. She needs to come up with something beyond the fact that she’s got a great bod. As for Catherine, she looks good but in that first shot I thought she looked a lot like Courtney Cox. I think they must share a doctor!

Kate rocked it – she was by far one of the top 5 best dressed. Who cares if she is on a man hunt? That is besides the point of how she looked and how she carried off the dress. Rocking body – part genetics, part hard work. Give her some credit.

Kate never disappoints when it comes to the red carpet. She’s easily one of my favorite year after year. I love just about everything she wears.

I hate to say it but Kate may need to get her eyes done, or do a better job with eye makeup. I’ve never noticed the hoods before. Maybe just an unfortunate application of makeup.
