My husband is sleeping in a pool house. We don’t need his hospital germs floating around. I kid, but he really is staying in a fancy pool shed in between shifts.

I’m glad to see that reasonable minds prevailed in re: the Olympics. They didn’t need to cram a bunch of people together in a Petri dish. Doesn’t matter how healthy and fit they may be.
Athletes often are unwell when they compete. It really would be a Petri dish….

I’m very sorry for the athletes who have been training for the Olympics, but there was no way it could happen. Glad they made the call.
Same, not just for the people who won’t get to watch but also the athletes who with so many shut downs would be losing valuable training anyway. No point training 3.5 years for a 4 year event. Sure they could do it and go well but I bet many would be chasing records that you couldn’t get with that kind of gap in your preparation.
My country’s athletes were refusing to go… They prefer not to go than to risk their lives, they expressed major concern and said: Our lives are more important than a competition…
