Did Anna Sawai have the best look of all of the Armani-clad women at the SAGs?

Anna Sawai has absolutely had “A Star Is Born” moment with Shogun. She has now picked up all of the major awards for her performance: Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG Award. She’s looked gorgeous at every award show too – designers must be fighting over the chance to dress her. Sawai wore a custom Armani look to the SAGs, and while it’s not my taste, she looks gorgeous.

Kristen Bell also wore Armani on the red carpet, but she changed as she hosted the SAGs. This feels Christmas-y to me? I also have to say… she did a great job as SAG host. I’m not really a fan, but credit where it’s due.

Kerry Washington in Armani – I loved the sparkle and the unusual turtleneck on the red carpet, but can I just say? It wasn’t very flattering through the chest, and the way she moved, I think it was probably too tight and itchy.

Michelle Yeoh in Armani – this was fine. Pretty and simple for a presenter.

And lastly, Jane Fonda in Armani. Jane won the Lifetime Achievement Award and she gave a barn-burner of a speech about seeking community and the importance of unions.

Re Anna Sawai, as my father used to say “That’s a great dress she’s almost wearing.” Fully deserved a SAG to add to her awards pile!

  2. Sun says:

Anna is easily best-dressed. Classic, interesting, and beautifully fitted. Michelle also looks stunning.

Something about the colour schemes don’t work 100% for Kristen and Jane imo. Jane’s hair (wig?) looks super pretty.

  3. Dani says:

Does Jan Fonda have the same plastic surgeon as Meg Ryan?? Because they look like they could be sisters

    • Chaine says:

Lol, you are so right. I was thinking Melanie Griffith myself, but whomever that lady was in no way resembled Jane Fonda.

    • maisie says:

remember that Jane is more than 20 years older than either of them. Her work is actually *really* good. IMO she’s a little too tight, but she doesn’t have as much of that plastic, filler stuffed look that both Meg and Mel have. and neither of them will look good at all when they are Jane’s age.

  4. Sue Denim says:

Pls listen to Jane Fonda’s incredibly wise fierce and courageous speech. We need so much more like this, interesting too how it’s women who are speaking truth to power in this moment.

    • antipodean says:

Totally agree, @Sue Denim. Jane’s speech was magnificent, and encapsulated everything that we should be fighting for. She is, and always has been, a fiery queen! If I ever had a hero in my life, she would be one of them! No notes! Also, her dress was sublime, the way it shimmered and moved with her, Armani at its very best, so flattering.

  5. SIde Eye says:

Anna’s dress was incredible. She looks gorgeous.

  6. StillDouchesOfCambridge says:

Anna’s dress is beautiful, she is beautiful. Jane is my idol in all facets, a beautiful beautiful woman, strong and smart, in body, soul, heart, mind, voice & hair.

  7. WaterDragon says:

Ugh! Kristen Bell’s hair. Why oh why do so many stars wear long stringy, unkempt hair. At least have the ends even. Are hair stylists on strike? Ditto for Demi Moore. I think the long stringy look is so passe.

  8. Lucy2 says:

I would love Kristen’s without the ruffles.
Anna’s is perfection from the front, don’t love the side and back.

  9. MsKrisTalk says:

Anna is my girl crush. She hasn’t had a misstep this awards season.

  10. Beverley says:

Jane’s speech brought tears to my eyes.

  11. Ladiabla says:

Anna’s dresses have been very beautiful, she’s been flawless this award’s season.

I loved Jane’s speech, and that woman doesn’t show any signs of slowing down, love her! She’s an inspiring woman, indeed. Unafraid and confident in her convictions, I’ve admired her for years now. Ever since I saw her inside the actor’s studio episode, in addition to what she’s said about women’s friendships and how important they are to us. Ever since the pandemic, my fear has ratcheted up to 90%, and it’s very inspiring to me to see a woman out there continuing to live her life to the absolute fullest. She is the embodiment of Meghan’s mantra, “my faith is greater than my fear”, which has helped me tremendously as well, though I may find it challenging to put into practice.

  12. Elizabeth says:

Kerry is so gorgeous and that dress was so unflattering.

  13. Eliza says:

Jane is an Icon. And not just for the movies.
