After years of covering the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the British reporting around Prince Harry and Meghan’s finances, it should have occurred to me that the Brits have no idea what they’re talking about when it comes to Nicola Peltz and her family’s money. My bad. I should preface every story about Nicola and Brooklyn Beckham’s money with “obviously, the British tabloids have zero concept of how Americans operate financially.” So, one of the big stories this week came from a British podcast where Marina Hyde claimed that Nicola receives a $1 million-a-month allowance from her billionaire father. Well, Nicola and her people heard about Hyde’s random comments and they were like “WTF, no.”
Nicola Peltz Beckham doesn’t need help spicing up her bank account. After Rest Is Entertainment podcast cohost Marina Hyde alleged that the Last Airbender actress receives a $1 million monthly allowance from her billionaire dad Nelson Peltz, a source with knowledge confirmed this is not the case.
“This is 100 percent false,” the insider told E! News. “The quote in question has no source because it is not true. It is simply a fabricated rumor made up from thin air.”
The speculations began after Marina compared how David Beckham and Victoria Beckham—who are currently estranged from eldest son Brooklyn Peltz Beckham and Nicola—and Nelson distribute money to their kids.
“From what I hear, I think the Beckhams give Brooklyn a lot of money, but not like insane money,” she said on the Jan. 27 episode of her and Richard Osman’s podcast. “They kind of have this dream—in my view, a bit of a pipe dream to some degree—that he will stand on his own two feet and become independent.”
As I said in my earlier story, I just doubted the logistics of “$1 million a month.” It makes little to no sense for a 31-year-old woman – even a billionaire’s daughter – to have an allowance structured that way. What makes more sense to me – not that I’m super-knowledgeable about how rich people operate – is that Nicola probably has a trust. It might even be a family trust, with a certain flat amount allocated to each of Nelson Peltz’s children. Plus, I absolutely believe that Nicola’s family has “helped” her with some bigger expenses, like helping Nicola and Brooklyn buy their home and basically financing their 2022 wedding. The larger point is that Nicola is doing well, and I believe that she and Brooklyn are also bringing in a tidy income from modeling, brand ambassadorships and his side-hustles. She’s also an actress, although I doubt she’s picking up big paychecks. Still, I suspect that the British pocket-watchers will continue to say all kinds of crazy sh-t about Nicola and Brooklyn’s finances.

Yeah, I said in the last article that I side eye the f-ck out of Marina Hyde. It sounded made-up. I’m sure she has lots of money from her parents and isn’t hurting by any means but that specific detail and the way Marina talked about it seemed made-up. Same as the supposed book Brooklyn is going to write. Maybe he will idk but at this point there’s no evidence of it. The British tabloids are just throwing that out there but they have no idea.
The Brits use the same storyline for everybody, it’s all made up journalism. Girl control boy, boy has no money, girl has some money, parents have all the money …🤣🤣🤣
Hyde is also an ex of Peeved Moron, not to be trusted.
I’m sure they both have trusts that they more or less live off in addition to whatever money they bring in at their various gigs. Why is this something the tabloids are focused on? At least it’s not taxpayer money.
Marina Hyde is not really a journalist. She used to work for the Sun and now writes a column for the Guardian. This is not the first time she has repeated nonsense both in her Guardian column and on her podcast. People often believe her without question because she’s a posh woman who writes for the Guardian. It seems she does the minimum of research for her ‘humorous’ guardian columns. Everything she says should be taken with a pinch of salt. I expect Nicola has a trust fund and her parents probably bought her a house but I also believe she and Brooklyn earn enough to live comfortably from brand deals.
Yes I just assumed she was being “humorous” like her “humor” columns. Basically just talking shhh for entertainment purposes. It’s “humorous” to see that her throwaway take became a story.
She worked with, and also had a relationship with, Piers Morgan. Speaks volumes.
Oh look the BM caught in another lie. That is what they do after all they make shit up!
i mean this doesnt say she doesn’t get a significant monthly allowance from her father or that he doesn’t otherwise support her. It just says that she doesn’t get one million a month. Maybe its two million, maybe its 500k, who knows.
But the bottom line is that there is no way these two are living off of what they bring in on their own. and that’s okay – lots of people, uber rich and otherwise – have significant family support. But its also not supporting yourself and being financially independent either.
I agree, there is no way there are living off what they bring in. I wonder if Nicola was not rich would Brooklyn be the way that he is. what would happen if he had to make a living and support a wife and family?
