Margot Robbie debuted bangs & a new bob at the Chanel show this week

Here are some photos from Monday’s Chanel Fall/Winter show at the Grand Palais in Paris. The show was well-attended, but the attendee-style was pretty meh. Matthieu Blazy took over as Chanel’s creative director in late 2024, and I think Blazy is acting more as a caretaker to the brand, not a revolutionary. In this post, I’m including photos of Oprah (who is super-skinny these days), Teyana Taylor, Eileen Gu (fresh from the Olympics) and Margot Robbie. Teyana is actually showcasing the few changes Blazy has made: more bold prints, and he’s made Chanel much more welcoming to Black celebrities. I wonder if Teyana’s presence at this show means that she’s going to wear Chanel at the Oscars.

But I really wanted to talk about Margot and her hair-change. This is horrible, right? I’m not anti-bob, but the bob combined with “wet-look hair” and those horrific bangs… my god. The bangs remind me of when she played Tonya Harding!!! She was great in I, Tonya but that’s the style, right?

Incidentally, Margot’s riding high professionally at the moment – a victory lap of sorts because her big Wuthering Heights gamble paid off, and WH has now made $213,635,877 worldwide, on what was reportedly a $80 million budget. So, Emerald Fennell’s terrible adaptation made money and there you go. Margot not only starred in it, but she produced it through her amazing production company, LuckyChap. Wuthering Heights made more internationally this past weekend than The Bride, and WH has been out for four weeks.

The cut is fine. It’s the bangs that I don’t love. And I’m not an anti-bang person. But oh well. Teyana looks interesting. I want to see what’s underneath what appears to be a raincoat?

I’m not anti-bangs either but she is one of the most beautiful women in the world IMO and bangs just obscure her face and cut it off in a weird way. As far as the bob goes I’m just happy to finally see an end to the super-long hair trend. I feel like we’ve been stuck with that hairstyle for 20 years or more.

She honestly looks overwhelmed or afraid or something. not happy with being there, which to me is a big part of why the hair is…not helping.

  2. megs283 says:

My theory is that Margot Robbie debuted the hair to hide a refreshing of the face. She looks more like Anya Taylor-Joy than herself.

    • CheekImplant says:

Notice how her left eye looks bigger or more open than her right eye in the close up photo?
Is that what’s going on or did the camera catch a fraction of a second in which her eyes weren’t blinking in unison?

Blue jeans at a fashion show is a really odd choice. And yes, the hair is very bad. So are Oprah’s shoes.

    • Meghan Healey says:

They are handmade silk gazar “blue jeans.” Like Nicole Kidman’s cashmere and silk “jeans” from the SP 26 show. There is also a gorgeous silk and cashmere beaded jacket that she’s not wearing. Personally, I think it’s a tank top that throws it off.

  4. Emmy Rae says:

Oooo I love Teyana Taylor’s raincoat look. Like she took clothes from a rich grandma and made them chic.

  5. FancyPants says:

Well, her face will never not be pretty, so she still has that. I think this particular cut might be better if it didn’t just look unwashed in these specific pics.

    • Silver Birch says:

Exactly! Wash it and brush it, and it would look so much better. The face card will never not deliver with her, though, even on a bad hair day.

  6. Miss E says:

MR is giving Elvira Hancock from Scarface vibes.

  7. Lizzy says:

The outfit is horrible. She has a contract with Chanel, surely they can find something better? She looks like she just picked whatever happened to be on the floor of her bedroom.

    • CheekImplant says:

The half wet styling and washed out hair color aren’t helping. I like the length on her but the bangs are not styled well so I don’t really see the point of them.
Of course, she looks great in everything.
Her facial expression is odd, too. She looked like that a lot during the WH press tour. Perhaps exhaustion.

  8. Tvskygirl says:

I actually like the haircut but I don’t like the wet look. And this is the most interesting Chanel look she’s had in a while. She and Chanel have not really been a good long-term match. Not sure why she’s still an ambassador.

  9. Jennifer Smith says:

Ya’ll…the black and white shoe mafia is out in full force. Something is going on.
