Late last week, Jason Biggs and his wife Jenny Mollen announced their split after 18 years of marriage. Jason is 48, Jenny is 46, and they have two sons, an 8-year-old and a 12-year-old. Jason and Jenny got together in 2007, as they worked on a movie, and they ended up eloping in April 2008. I thought the split was sad, but I wondered if there was really anything that dramatic about it, given how quiet they seem. I mean, few people have talked or gossiping about Jason Biggs in many years, right? Well, it sounds like he’s in the midst of some kind of weight-loss transformation. He lost weight and it kick-started his midlife crisis by the sound of it.
Jason Biggs’ recent weight loss transformation and “stress” from work reportedly caused a “wedge” in his marriage to Jenny Mollen.
“Jason definitely has changed since his weight loss transformation. He lost a lot of weight and it definitely helped boost his ego,” an insider told the Daily Mail.
“I don’t think he was wanting to lose that much weight but it happened and he’s proud of the results like anyone who lost 40 pounds or more would be,” the source added.
Last April, the “American Pie” star exclusively chatted with Page Six about his weight loss journey, saying that he had to shed some pounds due to having “cholesterol issues.”
After switching up his diet and workout routine, Biggs said his “cholesterol came down 70 points.”
In addition to Biggs’ weight loss, the insider told the Daily Mail that the “American Reunion” actor’s “stress” from his recent work projects also caused a rift between him and his “Dinner and a Movie” co-star.
“He had his first big directorial debut [‘Untitled Home Invasion Romance’] last year, and that was a really stressful time for him,” the source explained. “Trying to remain in the spotlight and continue to put out projects that are just as entertaining as what he was known for previously can be a difficult task. But he has this reputation and he knows that and he puts pressure on himself to do things that are going to get just as much attention. Jason has had more stress in his life than Jenny lately and I think that’s definitely caused a bit of a wedge.”
The insider claimed that though Biggs, 48, and Mollen, 46, were “truly a team” during their marriage, there have been growing “issues” between them for “a while now” — even attending couple therapy, which “really helped them stay in their marriage as long as they have.”
“I think if they didn’t do therapy, they would’ve split maybe two or three years ago,” the source told the Daily Mail.
It’s such a cliche. There are tons of relationships which falter or end completely as soon as the guy loses weight or starts going to the gym regularly (or both). A guy loses forty pounds, gets a hip new wardrobe and feels like he needs a “partner upgrade” too. Don’t get me wrong, Jason looks good these days – I’m including some recent photos below, and you can really see that he’s lost weight from his face and everywhere else. He’s gotten some new slim-cut suits and he’s really feeling himself. He wants to test-drive his new body with a younger model, mark my words.

His wife looks good too. Why would he need an ‘upgrade’? And it sounds like they were both struggling in the marriage. There is a very good reason why many divorced or widowed women don’t remarry. Because they are much happier without the man!
“Jason has had more stress in his life than Jenny lately and I think that’s definitely caused a bit of a wedge.”
It’s this line. OMG he is so busy, the stress, the responsibility. She can’t imagine! – Dude, she is a 46 yo actress in Hollywood (that alone is huge pressure), with two kids to raise in that effed up environment. I’m sure you’ve been little help with the latter, because you were so busy directing. Plus, she has to listen to your grand ideas, plans, problems and melt downs every night.
Jenny is gorgeous, she should enjoy her freedom.
He’s a looking a bit Sacha Baron Cohenish
I can see it but SBC is all about personality. Whether he’s in character in some wild role or speaking eloquently on social justice issues, I find him smokin’ hot. This guy not so much.
SBC is Islamophobic and repulsive IMO.
He looks slimmer than when he was in his 20s. I don’t understand the necessity for an “upgrade,” but I guess I can see why he’d be excited by trying on new clothes haha. He’s in his Mindy Kaling era.
IKR? I think of him as fairly slim so I guess I haven’t seen photos of him at older ages? TBH he might be a little too slim for my tastes in these photos, but it’s about self image. Not unusual for men who’ve never experienced being actively pursued by women to start flexing their new appeal in middle age. But I don’t buy that a reasonably attractive somewhat famous actor is only now finding his own appeal.
People tend to lose weight when a relationship is starting to fail, so it could be that he ended up losing a lot of extra weight because his marriage was ending and not that his marriage ended because he lost weight.
I think he looks ill at his skinner weight in those above photos. He looks worse, not better. His extreme thinness really highlights that his face isn’t handsome. His wife was on Instagram talking about getting labial surgery and she mentions that early in their relationship, he pointed out that her labia aren’t even. She made it sound just casual, but these comment are never casual. Huge red flag! Put down a woman in a subtle way in order to put her in her place.
ITA, he looks sickly now, I guess male version of Ozempic face? And wow, I don’t pay enough attention to minor celebs to have heard the story about this comment to his wife, awful. This type of surgery sounds totally dreadful and probably usually unnecessary ; I’ve seen on social media several women discussing having had it and that it has caused pain, nerve damage, ruined their sex lives, etc. All because some guy wants them to have a pre-pubescent Barbie looking crotch.
Funny, men get a glow up and then divorce. Women get a glow up after they divorce.
The weight loss looks awful on this though? His face looks twice as long
He’s always been a turd and shite husband.
I remember reading way way back about him not being sexual satisfied by just one woman or some crap to justify needing outside women in his marriage.
