Trump unerringly singled out the least-qualified candidate in the LA mayoral race to back with an endorsement during last week’s California primary: douche canoe Spencer Pratt, whose own sister coined the campaign slogan, “A vote for him is a vote for stupidity.” (What? I didn’t say it was Spencer’s slogan!) Though historically a Republican, Pratt ran as an Independent. California’s primaries are nonpartisan, so all voters get to vote on all candidates, regardless of party. For the LA mayoral race, the top two candidates from the primary go on to face off in November, even if they’re from the same party. Pratt was up against two Democrats — current mayor Karen Bass and Council member Nithya Raman — and he was sitting in second place on primary night, June 2. But LA has been doing a crazy thing of counting all the votes, including ones that were mailed in! And that has booted Pratt to third place, and thus out of the race. So Trump and his minions have been busy crying, “Election Fraud!”
Spencer Pratt, a former reality television star turned political hopeful, lost his long shot bid for Los Angeles mayor, placing third in the city’s closely watched primary after months of headline-grabbing interviews and campaigning that brought national attention to the race.
Incumbent Mayor Karen Bass, a Democrat, was the first to secure a spot on the general election ballot as votes were tallied in the aftermath of the nonpartisan primary on Tuesday, June 2, leaving Pratt and Democratic City Councilwoman Nithya Raman, fighting for second place in a contest where only the top two proceed.
Though the initial batch of votes showed Pratt with a commanding lead over Raman on election night, mail-in ballots counted in the days that followed heavily favored Raman and allowed her to overtake him in the end. – From People
Commentators and elected members of Congress have suspected fraud in the race as votes continue to be counted almost a week after the election.
“It’s clear, California is incapable of running free and fair elections consistent with our Constitution that guarantees a republican form of government for states,” Arizona GOP Congressman Abe Hamadeh wrote on X. “Federalize the election.”
President Donald Trump shared Hamadeh’s post on TRUTH Social and captioned it, “No way this could have happened. Rigged Election!”
Conservative commentator Robby Starbuck also said the election wasn’t fair.
“Want to know how countries end up failed states ruled by communist despots?” he wrote on X. “Look no further than the leftists who actually believe Nithya Raman miraculously pulled this off when no 3rd place mayoral candidate in history has ever suddenly pulled ahead FIVE DAYS after Election Day.” – From Komo News

“Commentators and elected members of Congress have suspected fraud in the race as votes continue to be counted almost a week after the election.” It’s not the heat, it’s the stupidity. California always takes weeks to complete their counting — they promise us that results won’t be finalized on Election Night! They’re slow, they’re methodical, get used to it! But this unhinged response isn’t anything new from Trump. I’ll never forget that moment in the wee hours of Election Night 2020 when he went on camera to heehaw his way through a dumb, not-quite victory speech. Of course the election wasn’t actually called until days later, because of the pandemic-necessitated increase in mail-in voting. But still Trump waddled out onto some platform and said (I’m paraphrasing): “I don’t understand, we were winning, and then it changed.” And I thought to myself, “Yes. That’s called COUNTING.”
The broad trend holds that Republicans tend to vote in-person on Election Day proper, while Democrats lean more towards mail-in ballots. That’s why the worst of Republicans like to declare victory early, and then sow doubt about the validity of the rest of the votes as they’re counted. This was part of Trump’s 2020 playbook, he’s trotting it out again during primaries (likely as a test run for the midterms), and he’s got orange calf worshippers echoing his lies. Case in point, Speaker Malicious Ned Flanders Mike Johnson, when asked for examples of the alleged fraud in California: ”Some of these efforts are so diabolical and so far upstream it is impossible to prove. But think everybody knows instinctively something is wrong here.” Something IS wrong here, but it’s not California elections.

Why would anyone vote for a MAGA candidate? It’s crazy and stupid. 🤯
imagine being this unqualified and having people fighting for you anyway
This is what always baffles me: Governing is a REAL JOB.
From the city council of a small town to the president, it’s hard and (often) thankless and actually requires experience and skill. Why are we even considering giving these jobs to unserious people??
Is our system perfect? No, of course not, but it’s embarrassing when people do things like fight for Spencer f’in Pratt.
Heidi looks like Christina Haack/El Moussa in that white ensemble.
Just don’t zoom in on that picture, lol. There’s an unfortunate (shoe?) placement, it looks like could be the left foot of the guy next to her.
also, he looks like he could be one of Jim boob and Michelle’s kids
@Lisa, THE “infamous” Duggars? Eww
That’s too accurate!!
May this signal the end to “reality” “stars” believing they are capable and deserving of public office.
Of course Trump wants Pratt. He’s blindingly white, stupid, and a failed reality star. It’s like looking in a mirror.
Wait, this is the race that Megyn Kelly was seething over? I saw a clip of her flaring her nostrils over election fraud in California. Spencer Pratt, Megyn. Spencer f–cking Pratt, the most repulsive reality star in history after Trump, is who you’re going to battle over?
Everytime I see 🤬 MAGA frothing out of their putrid mouths about voter fraud..I remember the scene from the iconic 1941 movie ✨️🎬✨️ “Citizen Kane” where the night Charles Foster Kane ran for Govenor & his newspaper had TWO front pages ready to go for the morning edition…the first said (and I’m paraphrasing) …
“Charles Foster Kane Wins In A Landslide!”
The second front page said…
“Charles Foster Kane Loses…Election Fraud Suspected”
White Supremacy has ALWAYS been on THAT BS 💔🇺🇸💔
For perspective, there are more people in LA County than the entire population of 41 other states. There’s millions of votes to count (city, county, state races), so yeah, it takes time.
As a state, California prioritizes giving voters time to vote. So we can vote in person, drop off, and mail in right through Election Day. It makes the count take longer, but it’s better for voters.
CA has a rigorous system for counting the ballots. They compare signatures to your voter registration, and if the signatures don’t match, they contact you and give you time to confirm/deny the ballot.
It’s an accurate, secure system. I’m glad they take the time to get it right.
They really scrape the bottom of the barrel for their candidates.
As an Angeleno, the sigh of relief I breathed when he was knocked out could be felt all the way to Santa Barbara (where this douchecanoe actually lives).
My God, we are in horrible shape if THAT MAN was anywhere near actually becoming whatever political position you could name.
They know what they’re doing. They’re creating intense online hype for candidates they know have no way of winning to create an illusion of possibility, then sowing doubt to foment anger and backlash in preparation for the November midterms. I think it’s going to be a big wake up call for a lot of people in this country, unfortunately.
He’s such a piece of excrement.
Anyone who actually lives in LA can tell you there is no fraud, Ramen is extremely popular in her district and with younger voters. More people were surprised Pratt did as well as he did.
