Duchess Meghan’s ‘rival’ Emma Thynn watched Serena Williams at Wimbledon

Say what you will about Emma Thynn, but she moves like a thirsty C-list hustler who will do anything for attention or money. That seems to be who she is legitimately, it’s just that she also has an aristocratic title: the Marchioness of Bath. We’ve gotten to know Emma in recent months because the British press has positioned her as Duchess Meghan’s “rival.” To be fair, Emma eagerly positioned herself that way too. That was part of her whole introduction on Ladies of London: The New Reign, which has now been soft-canceled after one season. Haha.

Well, in addition to telling everyone that she’s Meghan’s rival, Emma has also been trying to hijack some of Meghan’s current or former associates. Emma got cozy with Edward Enninful in New York a few months ago, and Emma has been desperately trying to become besties with Serena Williams. On Tuesday, Serena played her first singles match in nearly four years at Wimbledon. Guess who was there to watch?

The Duchess of Sussex’s so-called rival, Emma Thynn, Marchioness of Bath, arrived at Wimbledon to support Serena Williams in her much-anticipated return to Wimbledon yesterday – while Meghan was a no-show.

Back in 2019, it was Montecito-based Meghan, 44, who turned up at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club to support the tennis star as she took on Simona Halep in the Ladies’ Singles Final – but in the time since, fans claim that their friendship has somewhat cooled.

Fast forward to this year, and despite speculation that the Duchess might attend to support her long-time friend, given she is reportedly holidaying in Europe, it was Emma who cheered the tennis legend on. The aristocrat, dressed ethereally in an all-white ensemble, also spoke of how the tennis star is an inspirational mother to her two young daughters, Olympia, eight, and Adira, two.

In conversation with Hello, Emma said: ‘Serena said she did it for her daughters. I think that’s the best thing in the world to show them how strong she is and how she is doing it with such joy and enthusiasm. She’s brilliant, she’s strong and she’s doing all the things and just doing it with such grace as always.’

Prince Harry’s wife has long been accused of copying Emma, 40, who also has a lifestyle brand and, like the Duchess, produces homemade jam from her Longleat estate. Following the launch of the Duchess’ Netflix series in 2025, ‘With Love, Meghan’, eagle-eyed viewers spotted a series of similarities to a YouTube cooking show, ‘Emma’s Kitchen’, hosted by the Marchioness. Emma posts videos of her creations after launching the brand in 2015 using the backdrop of the original kitchens within Longleat House.

When previously asked by the Daily Mail’s Harriet Kean what she thought of claims Meghan had copied her, Emma raised her eyebrow and said: ‘No comment.’

This is just a reminder, to me, that Serena kind of has a bad radar for users and C-listers. I mean, Serena dated Drake for several years, which tells you a lot. This Emma woman is trying desperately to colonize Meghan’s friends, style and stardom. She has more in common with the Princess of Wales than Meghan, honestly. Maybe Natasha Archer can create a Meghan moodboard for Emma too. Incidentally, Emma wasn’t seated in Wimbledon’s Royal Box? Nor was she seated in Serena’s player box. Oops.

That white skirt is way too long.

  2. Hypocrisy says:

Boy she has a vivid imagination to think she is a rival to Meghan who probably doesn’t even know she exists.. the unbelievable arrogance of this is astounding.

The derangers pretend they aren’t racist by claiming to be Emma stans. They go on endlessly about how amazing Emma is and is everything Meghan wishes she was. Please.

Also amusing because derangers insist Meghan’s children do not exist or were born by surrogate so they should be stricken from the line of succession.

Emma’s second son actually was born via surrogate. If anything happens to their elder son? It could require Parliament passing a special exception to the ‘of the body’ portion of the law to allow their second son to inherit.

I’m not sure how this woman is Meghan’s rival. They tried to soft launch her in the US and the consensus of most people who saw her was that she was in her 50’s and unattractive, and I am putting it nicely. Why do these people keep trying to find “rivals” for someone who is supposedly unimportant? They tried it with Beckham too only to find out that no one in the US is checking for Victoria like that.

    They need to stop.

  5. Eurydice says:

I could give the same quote about Serena – I read the interviews, too.

  6. Teeny says:

Will Meghan and Harry go to Wimbledon this year?

  7. Debbie says:

Lord bless her, she tries hard.

  8. Kim says:

I don’t care about this woman, I’m just here for the fashion. But do people really wear such a fancy outfit to Wimbledon? I mean it’s one step from a gown, in my eye. That seems wildly overdressed for a tennis match, Wimbledon or not.

    • Michelle Me says:

She’s been BFFs with Edward Enniful for a looooooong time, she hosted his wedding at her house in February 2022 and was touted as his BFF then

    • BeanieBean says:

I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a gown for watching tennis at Wimbledon before. Let’s see if Kate copykeens her.

  9. Harla says:

Wow, I can smell the desperation all the way over in California.

  10. Amy Bee says:

Emma looks overdressed for Wimbledon. How come she wasn’t in Serena’s box?

  11. jferber says:

This woman is extremely stupid if she thinks the English “prefer” her to Princess Meghan. They are BOTH Black women. She is willingly allowing herself to be used as a fake rival to Meghan. They hate Meghan because she’s Black. If you are a Black woman being championed because you are not Meghan, what makes you think that these racists are NOT racist towards you, too? Obviously these derangers would always prefer a white woman, an “English rose.” If I were her advisor, which God forbid, I’d tell her that she is a fool to entertain all this nonsense.

  12. Bex R says:

Which “fans” are claiming that Serena and Meghan’s friendship has cooled? Also, looks to me like Emma wasn’t in Serena’s box, so how is it that she’s there “as a friend”?? This is someone riding coattails and calling up Hello/The Daily Mail with a tepid “scoop” and quote based on Serena’s post match interview.
