Um, is the Duchess of Sussex quiet-quitting life in the UK? She might be. Prince Harry has had three public engagements in the past five days. I thought Meghan would come out for at least one of them, but she has not. She skipped the WellChild Awards on Monday, so Harry arrived solo to the London event. He was charming, as ever, and he spent one-on-one time with all of the kids. One little girl ran into his arms and he gave her a big hug (see video at the end of the post). He loves this event, and back in the old days, Meghan enjoyed coming with him. My guess? It’s less about “Meghan wants this-or-that” or “Meghan doesn’t want this or that.” I think it’s more about security and how the Home Office and Ravec are slow-walking everything.
Meanwhile, I’ve got some other Harry-related stories for everyone. For months now, various American and British outlets have said that Harry is planning some kind of documentary or docuseries about his mother, something to coincide with the 30th anniversary of her death next year. Now People Magazine is running that story exclusively, reporting that Harry is “considering a number of projects to mark the 30th anniversary of his mother Princess Diana’s death… [he] has been exploring how he can most meaningfully honor his mother and her legacy ahead of the milestone anniversary on Aug. 31, 2027, with various ideas under discussion.” People’s sources say that while there have been conversations about a Diana documentary, nothing has been confirmed or finalized. People Mag says that Harry “has also reached out to family members and friends connected to his late mother, multiple sources tell PEOPLE.” Good. I’ve been very open to Harry doing a Diana project ever since the first reports came out. I *want* to hear and see Harry’s version of his mother.
Additionally, you know how Harry’s 42nd birthday was last week? According to Rob Shuter, Harry received phone calls from his father and several other royals, but Prince William and Kate did NOT contact him: “No call, no text, no private message. Not a word.” Sources say W&K’s silence was “deliberate.” Because they’re both five years old.
He truly is Princess Diana’s son. Look at the little girl wrapping her little arms around Prince Harry without an ounce of hesitation.

Since Meghan NEVA joined Harry regarding his England endeavors I consider this the norm…I’m just 🤗 he’s a short car ride away from his loving family now when he has to perform on the most difficult stages

Gosh what a truly lovely moment for both of them, children just know and react impulsively…Kate Galloway was there last night and spent time with Harry, she said on TV this morning that he was just brilliant with everyone, beaming !!

I would assume Meghan has to be home with the kids till they settle into school and their new life .
That’s her main role at the moment .she hasn’t got her mum to help her out now .

It will be difficult to leave the children with someone she doesn’t know and the children don’t know either. It is very easy to accept that she stays at home with the children. She probably misses her mum as well.
I would assume their nanny would have moved with them to help the children settle in. If Meghan wants to join Harry there would be a person they know and trust to watch over them.
If Meghan had joined Harry at the gala (I had hoped she would) or at WellChild as her first official outing in England all eyes would be at her, taking away the spotlight from the events. Of course she would have been blamed for that, despite it being the tabloids going nuts over her. Therefore I think it was smart to stay at home, let Harry do his thing, and have all the articles about the gala, Invictus, WellChild, the children, not her.
She got blamed for not wanting to join Harry “to meet ill children”, had she been there the headlines would be “she can’t help herself, she had to steal the spotlight from ill children”. Whatever she does is wrong anyway, at least by staying at home the focus was not on her.
I am glad she met with friends/friendly acquaintances from Montecito, and that Kelly flew over with baby Jack to meet. Meghan can do whatever she wants, whatever makes her happy. There is no need to show up at Harry’s events. They might make a joint appearance at a theater or film premiere as “private citizens” if they want to feed the press, but why should they? Just because we want to see her in a fabulous dress?
That little girl was so cute. Harry looked emotional and genuinely touched after that hug. I could see him puffing out his cheeks and exhaling as he stood up—the same thing he did walking up to accept his ESPY award.
Harry is so good with kids, even the older ones like the students at Ninestiles Academy. And watching him there last week actually has me rethinking the Sussexes’ return. I think Harry’s role in Invictus—beyond the Birmingham Games—is a big factor.
Harry and Meghan have had six years to build lives and careers completely separate from the monarchy. Archewell has been restructured so they aren’t managing its day-to-day operations, both have pursued their own business and investment opportunities, and As Ever is thriving. They’re no longer trying to figure out what their post-royal lives are going to look like—they’ve built them.
Now that Harry has the bandwidth to devote more of his attention to Invictus, he can take a more prominent, hands-on role in expanding its reach and shaping where it goes next. I suspect that’s something he’s always hoped to do when the timing was right. Maybe this is that time.
If returning to the UK was always part of their long-term plan—or something they began seriously considering around 2024—perhaps Birmingham was chosen with a bigger picture in mind: bringing the Games back to where Invictus began while laying the groundwork for Harry to drive its next stage of growth from the UK.
And if this first year goes well and Meghan and the kids are happy and settled, I don’t see them uprooting the kids (again) after Birmingham 2027. That’s assuming, of course, they get RAVEC to approve security—AND the media scrutiny eventually “settles down” into something closer to Montecito levels.
I hope she starves them to death with no pictures of her. I hope she’s at home protecting her peace. I’m tired of people always expecting BW to put ourselves out there and put our safety at risk. We barely saw her in CA, so I hope she’s protecting herself.
I’m with you. It’s clear she’s not locked up in a tower and can’t leave – she’s just going to starve the british media and frankly I LOVE that for them. I want her to show up at Paris Fashion Week again, or events in NYC, or whatever – just so the british press has to work that much harder to get the pictures etc.
She’s focused on her children right now and probably working as well, so i don’t expect to really see her. She probably only did, what, 6 or 7 public events a year in LA, if that?
It’s why the Soho house thing triggers the press so much. it means they lose that opportunity for pictures.

Page 6 published photos/video of Meghan meeting up with Ellen and Portia–and you can tell from the angle that the photographer was HIDING in some bushes.

I’d be surprised if Charles called Harry for his birthday so I’m not taking Rob Shuter seriously. As for the rest, I didn’t think Meghan was going to the Wellchild awards because I don’t think she’s going to be doing public events in the UK. And the Diana documentary further confirms to me that it and IG were the main reasons for the move to the UK.
No, she is not quietly quitting, but if she goes out now, you know darn well the headlines would blare, “SEEEEEE, Meghan was lying. She is perfectly safe and doesn’t need TAXPAYER-FUNDED security.
I read someone mentioning Rasida Jones’s documentary about her father. BTW, “Quincy” is EXCELLENT. I would highly recommend watching this insightful work of LOVE🥰
She was fortunate enough to give her father his flowers while he was still alive. She said most people didn’t know the full picture of how incredible her father was, and she wanted to make sure the world knew that he was a one in a billion.
What was astonishing about that documentary was that it was as though Quincy Jones had four distinct lives. It was amusing to see how many people thought they knew him, but it was only from their perspective, whether that was Frank Sinatra and the Las Vegas Rat Pack or Michael Jackson’s Thriller and “The Wiz”. That was just two lives, but there is the life before Frank and after Michael too.
Diana’s life was much shorter, but she packed a lot into a very short time. As Earl Spencer has written, the RF and Charles have been on a thirty-year mission to reduce her presence to barely a footnote in history. They actually had her name erased from the church records where she was baptised. (Reminds you of the RF removing Meghan’s name from Archie’s birth certificate)
So Alistair Campbell and Andrew Morton want to produce the quintessential history of Diana. Now, even more so, Harry must produce this documentary. One of the more regrettable things about Morton’s book was that he owns the tapes and he can “edit” her words however he wants. The fact that he is now against Harry means I do not believe he will edit her words truthfully. Alistair could be impartial. However, I doubt it since he has kept his mouth quiet while the RF tortured Harry and Meghan.
Like Rashida, no one else could produce a documentary more honest than Harry.

Well, my gob has truly been smacked, as some commenters have been saying recently.
Just for a bit of context – she was christened at St. Mary Magdalene church, on the Sandringham estate. That’s where Park House was, the residence her father rented before he succeeded to Althorp, and where a young Diana grew up. (Princess Charlotte was christened there, don’t believe George or Louis were.)
I haven’t run across this particular item elsewhere (yet) that Harriet refers to, but based on everything we’re learning, it seems like the kind of pathetic, petty move Charles/the Windsors would relish; and the church being on the Sandringham estate…
Harry is so at ease with people with disabilities and with ailing children. He’s such a lovely soul.
And I’m happy to read that he’s working on a Diana project. Just like Charles Spencer, he would offer a true portrait of his mom. And I hope it brings him joy.
As for Meghan, I imagine she’s prioritizing being home with the kids — a lunchtime outing was probably more workable for her than an hourslong public engagement.

Agreed. Why are there still so many people, including her own family, continuing to speak for her and make money off her. Let her rest. If Will and Kate were making a documentary about her, all the comments here would be up in arms (and rightfully so).

And there a lot of us who would watch a Harry-produced project about Diana. I loathe the monarchy, but Diana was a figure apart from that wretched institution.
I am not going to watch if it’s Harry or William. It’s just as someone said upthread we have this whole double standards thing with us knives out for William if he had done this. That woman has been dead for about 30 years. I often wonder if he is not in therapy because Spare was very therapeutic (at least to me) in the way he wrote it, and he’s still focused on telling her story and I guess what story? After his uncle’s book, I would just shelve anything anyway.
Also, if William were doing a Diana project, I’d be worried because he seems to have such a negative view of his mother, viewing her as paranoid and all.
But as her son he’d still have the right to do it.
I am not happy about Harry producing a documentary about Diana for the simple reason that I don’t want to see all the articles and comments about how he is milking her memory for money, that he has nothing else, yada yada yada.
Actually, if he would make a documentary together with his brother, that would be something else. They don’t have to talk, they can arrange everything through William’s aides. William could even drone on about how Diana inspired him to help the homeless for all I care. A documentary focusing not on her private life, but on the good she did. The charities and projects she supported or helped put into focus. Interviews with people working with her, the Halo Trust, AIDS, people who worked with Mother Teresa when they met, the focus on her legacy. Not the marriage, Charles, the divorce, her tragic death. This would be a documentary I would watch and if it came from both brothers it would be received very differently than if Harry alone would produce it.
The woman has been dead for nearly 30 years, and for nearly 30 years a LOT of people (many of them complete strangers!) have had a vested interest in feeding the public many, MANY lies about her and her life. We are now finding out just the tip of those lies.
I am all for people who knew her and cared deeply for her, correcting the record. It cannot be right that so many people have profited from lying about her yet her own flesh and blood should “just let her rest in peace”. It’s a tad too selective for me. Not as long as the lying narratives persist, I say.
Meghan should continue giving them diddly squat. They’ve been salivating over the prospect of splashing her all over their front pages with insults and ridicule whatever she does, says or wears, well, she’s not letting them.
