Heather Mills says her daughter forced to travel B class, but she got 33 million

The final numbers are in for the Mills McCartney divorce settlement, and The Daily Mail overestimated slightly this weekend with their prediction of a $50 million lump sum payment plus child support. Mills will get $33 million plus $15.6 million in assets. It’s a lot of money but is only a fraction of her husband’s net worth, which the judge put at $800 million but Mills claims is closer to $1.65 billion. Mills was married to McCartney for four years and they have a four and a half year old daughter, Beatrice.

Mills gave a long rambling press conference after she left court this morning. She said she was pleased with the settlement and talked about how smart she was for handling it herself and saving £600k which will now go to charity. She didn’t seem to grasp that she could have been awarded even more money if she would have kept her high-powered legal team. She also talked about how she was wronged by McCartney’s divorce attorney, and said “Fiona Shackleton [McCartney’s lawyer] has very sadly handled this case in the worst manner you could ever imagine. She has called me many, many names before meeting me when I was in a wheelchair.”

Ms Mills also launched an angry outburst against her husband’s victory on where their daughter would live and how much she would get each year.

“Beatrice gets £35,000 a year. She is meant to travel B-class when her father travels A-class.

“Paul has always wanted Beatrice to go to a state school. He insisted that he wanted us to move to that area [East Sussex] – £35,000 includes £17,000 for school fees.”

“He tried to get our daughter with joint residency, even though we had gone 50-50. In that way he has got everything he wanted, but that’s what powerful people get.”

Ms Mills complained about the judge’s assessment of her husband’s wealth.

“He also said that Paul is only worth £400 million. Everyone knows that he has been worth £800 million for the last 15 years.

“Paul has always wanted it public because he wants to look like generous Sir Paul.”

“I was locked out of every home. I really hope now that me and my daughter can have a life and not be followed every day. Apart from one television thing I have stayed quiet for 21 months. If the judgment had been kept private I would not be out here speaking.”

She added: “I can’t leave England. Believe me if I tried to go he’d have an injunction on me in a second.”

Describing herself as a “campaigning girl” she called on people to represent themselves in court but urged couples to do their best to resolve their problems immediately.

She said: “I’m so glad it’s over, it was an incredible result in the end to secure mine and my daughter’s future and that of all the charities that I obviously plan on helping and making a difference with – because you know it has been my life for 20 years.

“Obviously the court do not want a litigant in person to do well, it’s against everything that they ever wish, so when they write the judgment up they’re never going to make it look in favour.

“But all of you that have researched know that it was always going to be a figure between £20 and £30 million, Paul was offering a lot less than that, which you’ll see in the judgment, and very much last minute to put me and Beatrice sadly through this … incredibly sad.”

[From The Daily Mail]

Wow, Heather Mills, your daughter was so wronged by only getting $70k a year to live on. That’s just $35,000 after school fees. How is she ever going to eat and clothe herself? I don’t suppose you could spare some of that $33 million plus you just got to go toward your daughter’s travel expenses so she doesn’t have to fly coach business class. Having to attend public school and travel second class are such hardships for a child.

Unlike Heather Mills, Sir Paul just said “Thank you” and waved as he left court.

Update: thanks to commentor nylon for pointing out that Heather was bitching about “B class,” not coach. “B class” probably means business class. That’s even less of a complaint.

Also, here’s a clip of part of Heather’s speech outside court. Thanks to MSNBC and Redlasso.

  1. nylon says:

sorry typo above i meant: she’s complaining that her daughter only gets business class and not the full first class.

  2. nylon says:

I’m pretty sure b-class is business class and a-class is first class. So she’s really complaining that her daughter only gets to fly first class.

  3. headache says:

ugh. This ignorant troll makes me ill. She is whining about 70K a year in child support? I get $5,340. She should trying seeing how far that goes. It’s probably less than those lawyers charge an hour.

  4. Phil McCracken says:

I wish Heather Mills would go to Fallujah, Iraq and stay there.

  5. Syko says:

You know, a lot of people raise entire families on less than $35K a year. They probably have to fly tourist, if they fly at all, but they sleep in houses and eat three meals a day and have clothes on their bodies. And they’re probably a lot less miserable than this whining bitch.

  6. Mairead says:

£17,000 in fees for a state school? Surely she means public school (another name for private education)?

Meh, the pair of them deserved each other.

  7. cc says:

Would you just shut the hell up already, you greedy-self-serving-playboy-wanna-be asshat? Please?

And she wonders why the media and eveyone else hates her…because she makes asinine statements that she doesn’t even think about.

  8. MSat says:

Paul wanted Beatrice to attend public school because he thought it would be more normal for her, not because he is cheap. All of his older children attended public school and they turned out fine. She’s using that against him now because she’s a crazy hag. Anyone who thinks she will STFU now that she got her millions- which is what she wanted since the first day she met Paul– is sadly mistaken. This crazy bitch will never be quiet.

  9. headache says:

Fine is relative. His kids all seem like uptight, overbred, self-absorbed hags, especially Stella. Maybe if they had been nicer, he and hopalong cassidy would still be married.

  10. Mairead says:

I think in Britain “public school” has a different meaning as it is not paid for by the state as it is in Ireland and America, it’s paid for by private tuition fees.

It goes back to the Tudors where education was within the home and through private tutors and governesses – then Eton (?) was founded to provide the classroom type scenario, and it’s from there the term “public school” comes.

In a two states divided by a common language scenario – perhaps it would be best to refer to the two school types as state or private (fee-paying) to lessen confusion?

  11. anonymous says:

“She has called me many, many names before meeting me when I was in a wheelchair.”

What does being in a wheelchair have to do with it, Heather? I worked for a year at an organisation that supported independent living for people with disabilities, and unless someone is stomping on your rights, the wheelchair should make no difference. I don’t know why she’d even bring it up.

  12. lola lola says:

The more she talks the more I dislike her…and I didn’t hate her before this press conference. She is so ungrateful for everything she has in her life! She’s getting a ridiculous amount of money for a 4 year marriage. And, 0k, here’s the petty in me: What’s up with the blonde in front/brunette in back ‘do’? DIY colorjob? Yikesa.

  13. Sam says:

I am sure that Paul McCartney is glad this part of it is over. I feel badly for him and his daughter.

I hope Heather Mills goes away now; but I’m sad to say it probably won’t happen.

  14. geronimo says:

I’m watching this on the news at the moment (BBC) and apparently Heather threw water over Fiona Shackleton (Paul’s solicitor) during the course of the afternoon’s judgement.

  15. MSat says:

Heather likes to bring up the wheelchair whenever she wants someone to feel sorry for her. It seems like the only time she ever uses the wheelchair is when she is taking a beating from the media. did we ever see her in a wheelchair during “Dancing With the Stars?” Nope. But whenver she launches into her stories of how horrible Paul was to her, it’s always “When I was in a wheelchair.” Interesting.

As for the claim that Paul’s adult children are the reason they’re splitting up– I think it’s more a matter of Heather’s true personality and motivations being obvious to everyone around Paul, including his kids, and Paul just turning a blind eye to it. Until he couldn’t anymore. She’s just so bloody obnoxious!

  16. headache says:

Msat, I didn’t mean to imply that Heather was any less of a fricking crazy at the start of their marriage than at the end only that Paul knew it and married her anyway. It wasn’t until the kids wouldn’t shut up their bitching and telling daddy what they thought he should do that the two split.

It seems to me Paul was content to have a somewhat appealing blond to shag now and then and she was content to spend his money.

Sometimes your parents should be left to do whatever the hell they want, whether you like it or not.

  17. mollination says:

anonymous- I thought the same thing about the wheelchair comment. I cared for someone in a wheelchair for a long time, and only an ignorant hag who didn’t really have to live in a wheelchair would try and make it seem like she did for sympathy. BLECH!

  18. lara says:

Heather astound me. I keep asking ‘is she for real?’

  19. J9 says:

Does she even realize what a condescending elitist witch she sounds like?? Holy cow, get a grip woman. Def not the way to garner sympathy from unwashed masses. Gold digging snoot she.

  20. Phil McCracken says:

When does the Heather Mills Reality Show start?

  21. Megan says:

She just can’t shut up, can she. She can’t even have the dignity to just leave the court, she has to stand there for ages going on and on about how she’s been hard done by, and her daughter will suffer. Whereas Sir Paul just says ‘thankyou’ and leaves, like she should have done. SHUT YOUR MOUTH HEATHER everyone is sick of hearing your voice!

  22. neelyo says:

‘ When does the Heather Mills Reality Show start?’

When I saw this I laughed and then I realized that Ryan Seacrest is probably trying to get in touch with her right now and set up a deal with E!

  23. James says:

    I’ll be brief. She’s pathetic.

  24. headache says:

People is reporting that she got more than Princess Di. Now that is nausea inducing.

  25. AC says:

wow. im amazed at how inarticulate she is. those statements sound like an angry myspace blog post or something. how immature and idiotic. what a harpee.

  26. Toubrouk says:

I agree with many comments made above.

I just hope that she vanish out of sight now…

  27. Granger says:

Argh, this is a tough one. On the one hand, I don’t understand AT ALL how anyone could complain about $70,000 a year in child support. On the other hand, we’re talking about people who live in a different universe entirely from the rest of us poor sods. The amounts of money they’re haggling over are beyond my comprehension. I mean, if Paul really is worth $1.6 billion, then $70,000 a year for his daughter’s upkeep is a drop in the bucket! I might find it a bit cheap, too, if I were Heather.

Having said that, I think Heather is a cow and I still can’t believe she’d complain ON INTERNATIONAL TELEVISION in front of millions of people who live their entire lives on less than she makes in interest alone.

  28. gg says:

I’m afraid the unhappy bovine will continue to bleat-bleat-bleat until lord knows what shuts her up. She sounds just like a whiney little child.

Everytime she opens her fat mootrap she might as well be EXHIBIT A to Paul’s side of the case.

The po-faced crap is especially inappropriate, and she should be EXTREMELY ASHAMED of exploiting her disability like that. Nobody falls for it, excepting maybe her sister, who I REALLY feel sorry for.

  29. Cindy Kennedy says:

Sorry, but I think Beatrice should get everything that little spoiled Stella bitch is getting from her Daddy. Beatrice is just as entitled as any of the other McCartney children.

  30. Scott F says:

LoL, Cindy. That was Paul’s point! He wants Beatrice to go to public school and grow up just like his other children. Heather wants to turn her daughter into a little clone of herself, who thinks flying coach is a crime against humanity.

I’m sorry, but the reason everyone hates her is her sense of entitlement, and I REALLY hope she doesn’t pass that on to her daughter.

As far as her milking the disability: despicable. Heather, most people who use wheelchairs can’t ever get out of them. Talk to a child in Rwanda who’s lost both his legs to a land-mine. I’m sure he’ll be thrilled that a wannabe pornstar who lost her leg falling off a luxury motorcycle feels his pain.

  31. hellcat says:

What the hell is she wearing? Is that…a half-neon yellow, half-denim suit? Under a red-orange shirt? Where do you even buy something like that?

  32. gg says:

Probably at Stella McCartney’s! HAAHAHAHAH! She’s been noticeably making a point to wear Stella’s clothes just to piss everybody off. Especially Miss Stella, who hates her guts.

  33. gg says:

I’m sure you mean that sincerely, ellenms. For don’t we all just love her nude-posing-for-porn-Beatle-marrying-to-make-millions self.

  34. lindy says:

hey, I’m sort of wondering about all the bad mouth abuse stuff, and who should really talk! If Heather really called Paul just a dirty old man, then she really is stupid! Then she doesn’t deserve a cent, but if it’s just celebrity hype, then she should get a decent settlement from the ex-hubby. Many couples call it quits, and their is no reason to get so nasty, and just think that Paul was so rich, that she deserved it as an ex wife! Wanna bees in my book are the other women in Pauls life that tried to get their hooks in him, and didn’t succeed. Now he’s divorced, she’s rich, and they can go their merry way into the sunset/ and wake up to the new dawn of discovery. I guess Paul with Nancy and Heather with James.
