As far as celebrity baby names go, Nahla Ariela is not bad. It does have a Disney ring to it, probably due to the Little Mermaid-sounding middle name. I’ve never heard the name Nahla before and it sounds kind of neutral to me for a little girl’s name, but maybe I just need to get used to it.
According to Babynology, it’s a Muslim name that means “a drink of water.”
Nahla was born at 10:17 am on Sunday morning. She is the first child for Oscar-winning actress Halle, 41, and her boyfriend, model Gabriel Aubry, 32.
Halle and Gabriel are in a private birthing suite at Cedars Sinai with their baby. They are all said to be doing well and are expected to leave the hospital sometime this week.

That man is so gorgeous, it’s like he’s not real.
I think it’s kind of a plain, not very pretty name, but it beats some of the stuff celebs name their kids (see Soleil Moon Fry article below) and anyway she’s their baby and they can name her whatever they want. Then she will grow up hating her name, no matter what it is, and will name her own children something that they will hate - and so the world turns.

What kind of silly question is that?? If she named the child Jennifer would you demand to know what is up with the Welsh name?
Oh and CB, the reason it has a disney ring to it, besides the ariel, is although the spelling is different, I cannot imagine the pronunciation is too far off from Simba’s little lion buddy Nala.
It’s a sweet name though I’m hearing reports she named the kid Clara Stella. I am hoping for mini Halle’s sake that you are right.

Amira, nahla means bee in arabic when it is written in english with ‘h’, but originally it is a different letter (as a work around it is written NA7LA using non-arabic keyboards). While the original arabic word NAHLA that has the letter which is exactly equivalent to ‘H’ in english actually means a single drink of water.

It’s a pretty name…what do you guys care anyways…everyone names their child what they want and I am sure they pick the names for a reason.
Besides….no one will care….watch the name be a cool one once she’s a celebrity herself

hmmmm, Halle is just so hot she can name her child sh*t storm and I will still like it….LOL I always wanted to be the baby daddy though. WOW she still looks the same. Lucky dude… Although I think she shoulda gave her daughter a hyphenated name Aubry-Berry like that. That name is too famous to trash.
