Emma Roberts says she’s Team Jacob, wrath of Twihard mob attacks

The Twihards must be stopped. They’ve gone completely off the f-cking reservation. Here’s the story: Emma Roberts was on the Tonight Show the same night as Robert Pattinson (I think it was Tuesday night). Emma was promoting God knows what, I wasn’t paying attention, but she is clearly the “the second guest” you know? Sidenote: Her eye makeup is so bad, it’s distracting. Like, it’s Taylor Momsen-esque. Here’s the video of what happened when she came out as the second guest, and Pattinson stayed on the couch during her interview. Leno asks Emma if she’s Team Edward, and she admits that she’s actually Team Jacob.

I love Pattinson’s response. It was very old school, what he did, very quick and almost David Niven-esque (sidenote: Pattinson would be smart to model more of his actions and personality after Niven, a legendary charmer and wit). It’s obvious that Pattinson wasn’t offended, and he was having fun with her, and no one walked away feeling like sh-t. After all, it was just a difference of opinion about sparkly vampires versus cheesy werewolves, right? Not so much. After the show aired, an angry mob of Team Edward Twihards attacked Emma on her Twitter feed, and she had to shut down her Twitter account. Here’s more:

Robert Pattinson didn’t seem to mind when Emma Roberts revealed on “The Tonight Show” that she is on Team Jacob — but Team Edward definitely did.

Since telling Jay Leno she preferred the hunky werewolf to the brooding vampire on Tuesday’s “Tonight Show,” Roberts has been bombarded by nasty tweets from Pattinson’s fans.

They were so vicious, in fact, that the 19-year-old actress was forced delete her Twitter account, E! Online reports.

“Team Jacob? Ewwwwwwwww!!!!! >.<," wrote one user, whose comment was mild compared to several others.

Before closing her account Wednesday night, Roberts tweeted, "Rob Pattinson is so nice! I was slightly disappointed his skin wasn't glittering & the song 'Wild Thing' didn't start when he shook my hand."

Although some Twi-hards slammed Roberts for her "Tonight Show" proclamation, others are embarrassed by their fellow fans' actions.

"Dear Emma Roberts, Sorry abt our fandom," tweeted one "Twilight" lover. "Please know not all of us act that way. I didn't agree w/ your Jay antics, but won't cuss you out."

Another Twi-hard reminded everyone that if Pattinson wasn't offended, they shouldn't be.

"Emma Roberts deleted her twitter? I can safely say i'm very embarrassed to even be part of Twilight at this point," the fan tweeted. "Rob made a joke about it!"

When Roberts admitted she was on Team Jacob on "The Tonight show," Pattinson quipped, "Well, you just revealed yourself to have no taste."

Now, I have to admit – Emma grates on my nerves more than her Aunt Julia. Julia and Emma both have the big-mouthed bitchy genes, but Julia backs her sh-t up with being a movie star for a quarter of a century. That being said, I do feel for Emma because of what happened after this incident on the Tonight Show. She’s a pill, but she’s young, and she didn’t deserve to be made Enemy Number One of the Twihard Nation. For God’s sake, this has gotten beyond embarrassing.

Twitards annoy the crap out of me. I don’t know what it is about those stupid books that makes people act like that.

I worry for our future if these idiots make up even 1% of the youth today. The really scary part is that I think many of these crazies are adults. Damn you Twihards, you’ve made me a fan of Emma Roberts!

Oh my god – she’s entitled to her opinion!!!! Robert Pattinson is his own person, he’s not ACTUALLY Edward. Not to mention Stephanie Meyer created the character, not him! Ugh.

He is probably just happy to have one less crazed girl stalking him!!! Oh and she clearly liked him but she didn’t want to admit it on TV. You could tell by the way she kept fussing with her clothes and twisting in her seat.

The books are not great, they are OK i read them because I felt I had to. JR Ward and Charlaine Harris are way better at the vampire thing.

Is that the same girl? The pics of the blond, and the brunette on Jay? She looks very different. IDK. I can’t keep up with these little flavor-of-the-day twits. And, thankfully, I’ve never watched any of that Twilight stuff. Is this the same fan base that made Justin ‘babyface’ Bieber a star?? Ugh. Thanks, fools.

No one and I mean NO ONE, will ever hold a candle to Anne Rice and her vampire universe. These Twidiots, have no idea what creating a timeless legend out of an overplayed folklore really is. Harris and Meyer just overfluffed the whole thing.

And if I must go there, I am Team Jacob too so they can all stick it where the sun does not shine.

Never read the books, never seen the movies. Pattinson seems like a pretty cool guy, but if “team” whomever is a measure of hotness, I think it is Lautner by a mile.

It’s the TwiHards that turned me off of Twilight. Somebody really needs to stand up & tell these idiots to ‘f-off!’

Speaking of vampires, I have to go with ‘Carpe Jugulum’ by Terry Pratchett. Best vampires ever! They’re so deliciously evil. And it’s Terry’s DiscWorld, so they’re hilarious, too. I would love to see H’wood turn that book into a film.

The books are not the well written, but the story was fun before these people became insane over them. I think the twihards need to all be put into one state, and forced to live together so they don;t bother the rest of the world…

@Rx: nice to see Rice vamps getting a shoutout! :)

as someone who has not read any of the twilight books, i dont really like to comment but i cant imagine that the books could hold a candle to interview, lestat, queen of the damned and many more Rice books!

The candles don’t hold a candle to any other vampires book that have been written…that including the Sookie series, Anita Blake, the early books, Anne Rice, JR Wards Brotherhood series, and the Darkness series…those are all fantastic vampire books!!

I agree with you Rx. On TV, the Trueblood and Vampire Diaries vamps are WAY better than the sparkles BS in the Twilight universe.

Such a stupid franchise! I don’t get it and NO the Twilight Saga doesn’t hold a candle to JK Rowling’s Harry Potter. One is junk writing, the other is literature.

I grew up in the NKOTB era, where girls would fight over which one was the cutest, etc. Thankfully it was pre-internet, but watching this from the sidelines now is hilarious, and someday these idiotic girls will grow up to watch the next generation squabbling over something else and think they’re stupid too.

They’ll also probably go back and think, huh, those Twilight books weren’t very good, and neither were the movies!

There’s a new book out called _The Passage_ that has an interesting new twist on vampires (and is very well written, cough, cough, Stephanie Meyers). It isn’t gothic like Rice, but I couldn’t put it down!

  15. Rosina says:

Sad to say that this is but a dot in a growing trend of rabid fans whose only pleasure seems to be to spew bile in the guise of defending their idols. Case in point – Brangeloonies and Jen Hens.

Now I am a big fan of Jennifer Aniston have been since the very beginning of friends. Had no interest in her marriage or her divorce, other that the fact that I like to think she is happy with her life; which I think she is.

But many of the comments posted by so called Jen fans against the Jolie-Pitt’s make me cringe just as much as I don’t like all the rubbish written about Jen.

I do believe however, that this decent into direct harassment should be a matter that can be subject to criminal prosecution.

There are extreme weirdos in all fandom’s, unfortunately, Twitter and the internet allow them an anonymous forum. It’s sad.

  17. Pleister says:

It’s so sad, there are no words. Attacking someone on Twitter because she is not on the ”right” team. Who cares? It’s a movie (a bad one, but still), why won’t the twiwankers see that. I feel sorry for the people who behave like this over a movie. Those people need to grow up because they’re behaving like complete retards at the moment.

Oh and Jen Wind: I totally agree with you. And make sure that there is no internet there, so nobody would be bothered by any twilight related shit anymore.

Did anyone here actually see the show. Well I did. And while I’m not team anyone I can tell you that this girl was pretty much a rude piece of work. I felt increasingly uncomfortable while watching because I was waiting for some sign from her that she wasn’t really being a bitc.. toward Pattinson but it never came. A simple smile or laugh would have sufficed. While I don’t think ravaging someone’s twitter account is acceptable or worth the time I just want to put it out there that better judgement and a more gracious personality would have really helped her out here. I mean NO ONE really cares what team she is on but being a rude pain in the ass is not fun to watch either.

I posted in another thread how much I’ve grown to dislike Lady Gaga because of her rabid, obnoxious, arrogant fan base of “monsters”. Well, I feel the same way about Twilight fans.

Except that I will grudgingly admit that Lady Gaga shows some degree of talent and worth, where as the Twilight books show none.

    This comment irritates me:

Another Twi-hard reminded everyone that if Pattinson wasn’t offended, they shouldn’t be.

Even if he WAS offended, he’s a big boy, he can handle it. Your rage would do nothing here.

I also find it funny that people think of twilight as a vampire story, it’s a non-threatening teen love story and drama that just happens to have vampires in it.

I enjoyed the Twilight series a lot and I am in my 30′s. There is something to be said about a ripping good drama/romance story where the central characters aren’t off shagging every 10 minutes. THAT gets boring.

Speaking of Pratchett, there’s a school of thought that the Harry Potter series was ripped off from Pratchett’s works.

Honestly, I don’t feel bad for Emma Roberts. Cyber-bullying by the twihards isn’t nice, and frankly its stupid. But she didn’t HAVE to delete her twitter account. If she had just waited a few days, it would probably have blown over. Or you know, she could have just ignored them and realized they were a bunch of idiots.

She only deleted her twitter account for attention and sympathy, so I don’t feel bad for her at all.
