Marilyn Monroe sex tape sells for $1.5 million

marilyntop.jpg
A silent black and white tape of Marilyn Monroe engaging in oral sex with an unknown man has sold for $1.5 million to a NY businessman, according to a report in the NY Post. It’s said to be 15 minutes long and is obviously of Marilyn. She never looks at the camera but the man’s head is not visible, which may suggest that he planted the camera and she didn’t know it was there.

The movie was shot on 15mm film sometime in the 1950s and it first attracted the interest of the FBI in the mid 60s. The FBI under J. Edgar Hoover spent “two weeks futilely trying to prove that Monroe’s sex partner was either John F. Kennedy or Robert F. Kennedy, according to declassified agency documents and interviews.”

A NY memorabilia dealer, Keya Morgan, bought the only known copy of the film from the son of the informant who gave it to the FBI over 40 years ago. Morgan is now $1.5 million richer after selling it. Supposedly the guy who bought it doesn’t have any plans to sell or release it to the public:

The feds eventually confiscated the original footage - but not before the informant made a copy of it, which is what was just sold by his son, Morgan said.

There are heavily redacted, declassified FBI documents talking about a “French-type” film.

They state the informant “exhibited [to agents] a motion picture which depicted deceased actress Marilyn Monroe committing a perverted act upon a unknown male,” Morgan said.

The informant was with at least one mobster at the time, the documents state.

According to the documents, “Former baseball star Joseph DiMaggio in the past had offered [the informant] $25,000 for this film, it being the only one in existence, but he refused the offer.

“Source advised that [redacted name of the mole] informed them that he had obtained this film prior to the time Marilyn Monroe had achieved stardom.”

Morgan said he got the deceased informant’s name from the former FBI agent who tipped him off to the flick - and was floored after he found the mole’s son in Washington, DC, and the man retrieved a film canister from a safe-deposit box and spooled it up.

“You see instantly that it’s Marilyn Monroe - she has the famous mole,” Morgan said.

“She’s smiling, she’s very charming, she’s very radiant, but she’s known for being radiant,” he said. “She moves away, and then it [the footage] stops.”

Last month, he brokered its sale, leading the informant’s son to a wealthy New York businessman who wants to keep this unseemly part of Monroe’s past buried.

“He said he’s just going to lock it up,” Morgan said.

“He said, ‘I’m not going to make a Paris Hilton out of her. I’m not going to sell it, out of respect.’ “

[From The NY Post]

This brings up all sorts of questions about who the man was in the film and who actually bought it - like whether it’s just some super rich guy who wanted it for his collection or if he has some connection to Marilyn or the man she was filmed with. Either way, we’ll probably never see it and that’s a good thing. She had enough image problems without a sex tape coming out 45 years after her death.

Marilyn is shown below with her second husband of just 10 months in 1954, Joe DiMaggio. Given the fact that DiMaggio offered so much money for the tape and that he was married to her around the time it was shot, it was possibly him in the film.

  1. I’m with Sam. Isn’t there a crime in there somewhere, the copying (aka stealing) of the tape? No scandal here but it would be extremely exploitative to release it, especially if she didn’t know she was being filmed, as suggested here.

  2. I’ll never know why sex tapes are such a big scandal. They are merely video evidence of something we all know everyone is doing anyway.

The only scandal should be if it is extramarital relations.

  3. When they first invented Motion Picture cameras one of the first things they did was film Porn. True fact.

  4. Does Marilyn Monroe not have an estate or foundation? Shouldn’t they be involved in stopping this?

It seems a bit much to be exploiting some one who died some 40+ years ago over a video made 50+ years ago.

  9. Oh please. This is the time when the spy game was booming. I’m sure they had all sorts of ways to film secretly back in the day.

Plus I find it hard to believe she would allow herself to be filmed and the other participant not to be.

  10. LOL @ geronimo. They do make a noise - but if there was a lot of background noise (music) or she was drunk or drugged she may not have noticed it.

It’s not the first time that she was photographed “in flagrante” without her knowledge - there was one occassion where she was passed out from drugs and men were photographed sleeping with her illegally (I have to be careful of the filters here). That was done (allegedly by Scumbag Sinatra who’s in the photos) to bribe another man.

So I think it was the same thing here - for extortion, and unlikely to be DiMaggio. He was devoted to her memory seemingly and would be just the type to buy up her unseemly legacy and destroy it.

  11. They should let her rest in peace.

  12. No, ok, fair point on the camera noise but since no one knows who the beneficiary(!) is/was, it seems it could have equally been a private tape for the two people concerned and would therefore still be no one elses business. Anyway, just me, I hope it stays out of the media. The only sex tape I want to see is one with Javier Bardem in it. Ideally a long one.

  13. why is it assumed she was doing something wrong? WHy couldn’t it be her husband.
Her and DiMaggio were true loves *sigh*

  14. DiMaggio was capable of only adoration, not true love. When you love someone with all your heart you don’t try to squeeze them into a role that doesn’t fit their personality. In DiMaggio’s case, traditional Italian housewife.

  16. I agree, I hope they let her rest in peace and the video does not go public, at least in our lifetimes.

Ps, this would be the “original” white house blow job scandal…It’s none of anybody’s business.

  18. I find it funny that he says he is not going “to make a Paris Hilton out of her”…
It’s HER who made “a Paris Hilton” out of herself, whatever that means.
(I am no fan of Hilton, but I don’t see how she is any worse than M.M. At least Paris didn’t use the casting couch to get wherever she got.)

There is a reason why M.M. was known as “a whore who got lucky” by the studio executives in Hollywood. The same reason why such a label was never applied to any of the other great stars of the time: Liz Taylor, Grace Kelly, Ava Gardner, Rita Hayworth…

None of them were ever called a “whore who got lucky”.
    Marilyn Monroe was.
    Why?
    Because she WAS one.

  19. She was a really lost little lady. All she ever wanted was someone to recognize and love her, for her.
I think everyone should just let her rest in peace…whatever she did 40+ years ago does not affect your life now.
I hope who ever bought the tape keeps it to themselves.

  20. OK, so now without any evidence at all everyone believes that the sex tape actually exists and that it was Marilyn Monroe in it.

What a great way to smear someones name after they’re dead and can’t even try to defend themselves.

  21. What surprises me is that know one is criticizing this guy for paying 1.5 million for a freaking sex tape, even if you are a hard core MM fan is still creepy and sick. What is he going to do, watch the tape repeatedly for hours in a dark room with his zipper undone while he has some weird fantasy about it. Actually that might very well be true, that is some weird sh*t.

He should have taken that 1.5 mil and put it in good use.

DiMaggio making a film of Marilyn BJing him so he can try to buy it back? That makes zero sense! This ain’t Pam and Tommy we’re talking about here! For that theory to fly, DiMaggio would have had to have somehow let the film “escape” his possession. If you saw the catalog of the auction of DiMaggio’s estate a couple of years back, you’d know that would have been as unlikely as the sun rising in the west! The man never threw a thing out! He even kept a permit allowing him to work with his father way back in 1931!

That said, it should be on YouTube anyday now!

  27. So very few people have seen it & now only a lucky few will?

“You see instantly that it’s Marilyn Monroe - she has the famous mole,” Morgan said”

I don’t really think its a hoax or something, but I’m not gonna believe it completely unless I see it. Ant the likelihood of that is zilch, so..

  28. DiMaggio wouldn’t do that. He was kind of on the prissy side and was furious about the dress over the subway grate thing. Videotaping sex would probably be too kinky for him at the time.

I could see him attempting to purchase it just so there’d be less salacious material of Marilyn out there.
