Enquirer: Whitney Houston spends more than $6000 a week on cocaine

enquirer

Instead of running a good Mel Gibson cover story this week, The National Enquirer decided to just go with a solid “Whitney Houston is a crackhead” story. This could have been written at any point over the last ten years, but whatever. There’s good dirt in here. Apparently, Whitney’s still heavy into drugs, to the point where she’s more crack smoke than flesh and blood. While Whitney was on tour in Europe, her entourage was pouring thousands of dollars into the local drug communities to support Whitney’s habit:

With Whitney’s drug habit raging out of control, her entourage recruited a drug dealer who sold her $6,000 worth of cocain during a tour stop in June, as eyewitness to the deal told the Enquirer.

Although Whiteny claimed to be drug-free during her interview with Oprah, she was actually high as a kite at the time, said a source. Now an Enquirer investigation has discovered Whitney has spent $6,300 a week on drugs – or $327,600 a year.

“Whitney is a dead woman walking! With the amount of drugs she’s buying, she won’t be able to live long. She’ll be dead in months,” her friend Marlon David told the Enquirer.

[From The National Enquirer, print edition]

The Enquirer goes on to detail Whitney’s various “health” problems that have hindered her tour, and then there’s this bitchy observation: “While most people expect a coke addict to be rail thin, Whitney is not. When she was photographed in London, Whitney looked bloated and sported a puffy face – conditions that sources believe are side effects of prescription drugs for her respiratory ailment that cause her to retain water and have a voracious appetite.” Just in case you confused Whitney’s weight gain with her being clean and hungry, I suppose. Just in case you had dreams of Whitney becoming the next Aretha Franklin, some big, beautiful woman who is all about the voice and the fabulous hats.

There’s also an interesting story about a drug buy in Denmark, allegedly witnessed by this Marlon David person, who is identified as a “party promoter”. According to David, in a very long-winded story, Whitney’s people called a Swiss drug dealer and offered him $6,000 to bring 200 grams of coke into Denmark so that Whitney could “party”. The dealer took the train – and it took 13 hours! Ugh, I’m sure there was a local dealer, Whit. The dealer, speaking to David, said that Whitney “was about 60 pounds overweight, her clothes were frayed, and she talked in a whisper.” I’d be talking in a whisper too, if I had to wait 13 hours for my dealer to arrive. But seriously this story is really sad. They just go on and on about all of the drugs Whitney is buying and using and how everyone thinks she’s going to die soon.

How sad. She is really throwing her life and career away.

  2. Lindsay says:

The Prince William cheating with pictures looks more interesting IMHO. And shouldn’t “Mistress” be “Ex” or even better her name.

Also, why are these magazines so obsessed with cellulite? There is one more with this “story” too. Except at least the other one accepts it and mention over 95% of women have it and the best remedy is Photoshop!

Maybe Whitney and Lindsay can work together on fulfilling Lindsay’s goal of opening a chain of rehabs. Or at least let Whitney be her first patient. And it was pretty clear that she was on something or off her rocker. But $6,000 worth is a lot of “Bible reading”.

  3. BReedy says:

Hate seeing this talented woman disappear before our very eyes. Career and voice are just a memory now.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again:

Whitney was pushed into her “comeback tour” way to early in her recovery. She needed a strong support system; family & friends to encourage her and call her on her bullsh!t; close contact with a recovery therapist person; (at least to herself & those who matter to her) she was healthy, strong, and well enough to handle the stress of everyday life before even considering a tour. Britney’s “people” did the same thing, shoving her into her “comeback” before she was truly ready.

I’m not comparing Britney’s mental health with Whitney’s drug problem, but their comeback stories are strikingly similar, yeah?

that is so sad!I remember when, as a 10 year old kid, I first heard her sing I will always love you, and it was like a revelation to me. Now I listen to a different kind of music but I still have a soft spot for her. She has (had?) a talent and “music soul” equal to Ella Fitzgerald’s, Dinah Washington, and as you say Kaiser, Aretha Franklin. So, so sad.

  6. Felicia says:

    Crack is wack.

Who do I gotta poke for some coke?

  7. GatsbyGal says:

I don’t even understand why she started down this path. Does she enjoy being strung out and worthless? And it’s gotta take a toll on her voice, too.

As a person who learned how to sing before she could even speak, I don’t understand why she’s not doing everything in her power to keep her singing voice intact. I’d go insane if I were ever rendered unable to sing. And if she’s snorting coke, that’s damaging the hell out of her sinuses and throat.

  8. meme says:

This is beyond sad. Whitney had one of the greatest voices of all time. Sad sad sad.

  9. caro says:

sad! sad! is there anyone to help her? she has a kid!

  10. Roma says:

Okay, I’ll say it. $30 a gram is cheap for coke. Who knew the swiss had such cheap drugs?

  11. Cougar says:

Remember how Elvis looked tired and bloated right before he died?????

  12. aenflex says:

She sure don’t look like a coke head…

  13. Big Mama says:

@aenflex That was what I was thinking!

    Aren’t coke-heads skinny?

  14. Debbie GP says:

Looks like she is on steroids therefore the weight gain and puffiness. Even on Coke if you are taking steroids you will be overweight, puffy, etc.

  15. tiredofrumers says:

I was a fat cokehead. Whenever I did it, I’d binge drink to make the high last longer. I’ve lost a bit more than 15lbs since quitting, so far.

As to why Whitney is in this situation, she is not yet ready to help herself, still chasing that feeling you’ll never get again after the first time.

(ps this is my first post on cb. Hi!)

  16. tiredofrumers says:

Forgot to add another thing that’ll make a cokehead fat is eating like crap morning after/comedown

  17. searching4grace says:

    @tiredofrumers
Good for you for quitting! *said with sincerity, not snark*

  18. Praise St. Angie! says:

    welcome, tiredofrumers…and congrats on quitting!

  19. Jover says:

FOr those that lived through the 80s. as I did, Whitney was the bomb – her fun dance pop, great looks and vids (when MTV played vids that were fun, creative, and playful), and the young crowd doesn’t realize how big she was, her present state is sad, but honestly she did it to herself. One question, where are her friends, family, label, etc., she seems to be getting very little help – I guess they got their cash and are satisfied.

  20. Cinderella says:

She’s back on crack and taking prescription drugs? I agree, this will end like Elvis.

Uh-oh, didn’t he die in August?

  21. tiredofrumers says:

Thanx dudes. Yeah she ruled the 80s I used to imagine running away from home and finding out she was my older sister and living with her… Not a great idea in hindsight!

  22. Jeri says:

I have relatives on crack & they have gained lots of weight. When they are coming down they just shovel food in their mouths where it is gross to watch them eat & they just keep shoveling anything edible into their mouths. I used to think addicts lost weight but I guess it depends on what & who.

  23. Lita says:

@tiredofrumers – it’s a big step, going from ‘lurker’ to ‘commenter’ .. nice decloak and welcome :o)

Good on you for the other thing too – I reckon a lot of backward steps get taken in the lonely hours and one of the cool things about the interweb is that it’s always here, full of people, if you just need a couple hours of distraction. All strength to you!

  24. trashaddict says:

Really sad. I thought that being away from Bobbaay was going to be good for her.

  25. Princess P. says:

The drug stories will always be out there regarding Whitney Houston. I do not believe Whitney Houston has returned to a life of drugs. The tabloids have been really negative towards Whitney since her tour began. Whitney traveled to Europe with her daughter. I highly doubt she would use at this stage in her life. Her daughter has been through enough and seen enough with her and Bobby. I can’t imagine Whitney subjecting her daughter to this again. We should not believe everything we read. Give Whitney a break. Why didn’t these stories surface when Whitney was touring??? Why are they surfacing now that the tour has ended????

  26. Gail says:

Never liked Whitney. Wouldn’t even have clicked but gotta catch up on my posts. Well according to one person’s whack rules anyway.

  29. One thing I would like to reply to is that weight loss program fast is possible by the proper diet and exercise. Ones size not just affects the look, but also the complete quality of life. Self-esteem, melancholy, health risks, along with physical ability are influenced in an increase in weight. It is possible to just make everything right whilst still having a gain. In such a circumstance, a problem may be the primary cause. While a lot food instead of enough work out are usually guilty, common health conditions and key prescriptions can easily greatly add to size. Thanks alot : ) for your post right here.
