Cameron Diaz’s dad dies unexpectedly from pneumonia at 58

cameronsomber.jpg
Cameron Diaz has lost her dad Emilio, 58, after an unexpected illness. He developed pneumonia after a bout with flu, and his death was a surprise both due to his relatively young age and the fact that he was in good health prior to his recent illness.

Emilio worked as a foreman at an oil company and lived in Seal Beach, California.

TMZ reports that production has shut down on Diaz’s film “My Sister’s Keeper.”

My father is a little older than 58 and I can’t imagine losing him so young. That’s incredibly sad and our thoughts are with Cameron and her family.

  3. Aw…

All condolences to Diaz. That’s a real tragedy. Sadly, it happens too often. A sweet girl like Cam didn’t deserve it. Life gives, and life takes.

He was very young too. Makes you think.

  8. wow my dad is 70 and im 25. I can’t imagine having a dad that young first off and secondly i can’t imagine loosing my dad who is a picture of health at 70 - seriously you’d think he was 58. So even at my dad age i’d be SHOCKED if something happened.

Thats terrible. I know how close she says she is to her family so she must be devestated. :-( poor thing.

  11. I feel for Cameron, I really do. My thoughts and prayers are with her at this most sad time in her life. I lost my beloved maternal grandfather and beloved uncle, both to untimely deaths. They were both far too young to go. People, always tell your family and loved ones how you feel. Say “I love you”, because you may regret that you didn’t when they’re gone unexpectedly. The older I get, the more aware I become of my own mortality and that of others. My Cameron’s father’s soul rest in peace.
