Gary Dourdan busted for heroin, cocaine & ecstasy (possible CSI spoiler)

Mug shot via TMZ
CSI star Gary Dourdan pulled a George Michael and was found by police passed out in his car at 5:21 this morning in Palm Springs, California. Cops must have searched his vehicle because TMZ reports that he was arrested on suspicion of heroin, cocaine, ecstasy and prescription drugs. He is now out of jail after posting bail of $5,000.

——–possible CSI Spoiler below——–

This week’s National Enquirer reports that Dourdan was canned from CSI for his drug and alcohol problem, but that he’s telling people he was fired:

“CSI” star Gary Dourdan claims he quit the show – but he was fired due to drug and alcohol abuse, say sources!

Gary – who plays criminalist Warrick Brown – is telling pals that he decided to walk away from the hit CBS drama, but show insiders insist that studio brass gave him the boot after weeks of tension on the set.

The 43-year-old actor has confessed in interviews to “reckless periods” when he abused drugs and alcohol, but claims he quit cold turkey in his 20s. Despite that, insiders say the show’s producers got fed with Gary’s drugging and boozing – and pulled the plug on his TV crime-fighting career.

When contacted by The Enquirer, CBS wouldn’t comment on the reasons for Gary’s departure.

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, May 5, 2008]

The Enquirer reminds us that Dourdan pled no contest to misdemeanor battery in 2005 after it was alleged that he beat and raped a former girlfriend. And remember that video that TMZ posted last summer of Dourdan chasing and taunting a paparazzo instead of the other way around? Dourdan is said to have beat up the guy and smashed his head on the pavement, but it’s hard to tell from the videos they have up, which are pretty shaky because the victim is carrying the camera. There’s a lot of running and swearing going on, and whatever happened it’s clear that Dourdan is taunting the poor guy.

In response to Dourdan’s photographer beat down in mid July, 2007, CBS issued a statement that he had not been dropped from the show. It looks like he’s out of there at this point and that it’s not like getting busted for drug possession is going to affect his already-tanked career. Gary Dourdan’s bio is still up on the CSI website, but look for a statement from CBS about his employment status in light of his recent drug bust.

    all that? seriously? hahahaha
I dont care, I´d still marry him!
But it is a waste indeed!

  2. OXA says:

i have been waiting for something like this. he is a stupid ass.

  3. tvf says:

Aw, c’mon – don’t post show spoilers in the freakin headlines.

  4. MonicaBee says:

I just wonder why there is sympathy for a paparazzo here? Generally, it’s said/typed/written what pieces of sh*t they are for taunting celebs… but for some reason this one gets sympathy? Okay…

That being said, it is pretty horrible news that the object of my CSI affection felt like he had to resort to this crap. I find him to be unsettlingly attractive and it’s a huge waste of talent in my opinion.

  5. Ginny says:

Damn, first Sara and now Warrick? Well, there goes my hopes for CSI picking itself up again :(.

  6. Erica says:

well so much for avoiding spoilers. I agree, was the headline necessary?

  7. elisha says:

I don’t think him getting fired is a spoiler. That type of news would’ve been hard for you guys to avoid. It would’ve been a spoiler if it said how the show is writing him out, i.e. that he dies or moves away, whatever. But just saying he got fired is NOT a spoiler.

  8. Anni says:

shame. i thought he was really cute and really love csi. i think the series is going to sink soon, without sara and warrick.

  9. Alarmjaguar says:

Damn! This is why it is better not to know anything about actors. I love Warrick, but it sounds like Dourdan is a total ass.

  10. Celebitchy says:

I am so sorry for the spoiler and have reworded the headline, but the damage is done. It truly did not occur to me!

  11. headache says:

CB, I wouldn’t worry about it. You can’t click anywhere right now without seeing it.

  12. BB says:

You all keep saying it is a spoiler that he has been fired from CBS but I read in the headlines last week that he was leaving the show because he continued to cause problems. The only new info is just that he got busted with drugs Monday morning. Anyways, sounds like he’s having a bad month!

  13. Sarah says:

5000 bucks bail for a Hollywood star??? 😯 Who was the judge? Wasn’t it be sure that this would be paid by him in second? That’ s maybe the money he wanted to spent on H that night anyways… 🙄

  14. Because I say So says:

Dang, Gary! I used to want to party with him but he’s pulling a Wino move… I might need my brain sometime in the future 🙄

  15. saintdevil says:

Forget about the drugs – but battery and rape?!
    Great…
Well, at least he never was my favourite CSI-guy anyway.

  16. Mairead says:

Wasn’t he meant to play Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy) in the adaptation of “My Boy”? It sounds like he’s following Philo’s direction to the grave (with added violence)

  17. Codzilla says:

I never knew about the rape thing — what a tool. And yes, I do feel dirty inside for still finding him attractive in that strung-out mugshot. Hope he saved his money cuz I’m guessing none will be pouring in any time soon.

  18. A fan says:

Gary, I just hope you get it together. You’re too talented to let your life go down the tubes…get help, NOW. Best of luck to you.

  19. Lalixa says:

And what about the apple he stole when he was 9?
read the article again: “it was alleged that”, “is said to have”. This is exactly paparazzi’s shit. Maybe now he was smoking grass, had some cocaine or whatever: nobody knows what really happened. And even if it is so, 90% holliwood stars do the same thing every day. Are we really supposed to be shoked? He’s a good actor, the best that CSI ever had. That’s all that matters. His private life is nothing else but his own business. I hope this story won’t grow as it seems to do, thanks to journalists in search of glory and people who rise themselves as judges in defence of the so called morality… Rumors and gossip destroy more lives than drugs. Good luck in this crazy world, Gary, whatever you’re going through.

  20. dew says:

I don’t watch CSI anymore; I’m mostly tired of that show type, the exception being CSI Miami, which I love and hate both, and still watch sometimes.

It’s a good thing this actor doesn’t work on Lost! CBS should insist any actor charged with breaking the law should go through counseling (in addition to whatever a judge gives them) before being allowed back to work any more CBS shows. The next time, they should be fired permanently.

Actors and celebs that get away with stuff will continue to do it, just like bratty kids with crappy parents.

  21. headache says:

Dew, CSI Miami is so hokey and bad you cannot help but watch it. It’s the CHiPs of the CSIs

  22. Chels says:

    Hahahahhahahah!
my mom watches this show 24/7
Ouch why do drugs so close to a damn Police department. xD
    How funny silly people 🙄

  23. Eve says:

I have been in love with him since It’s a different was on, I hope he gets help no one knows how it is to get off a habit until you are there so don’t judge, true it is a waste but some people get addicted while trying something once and some don’t help don’t judge. And Gary if you need a place to stay you can come with me.

  24. person says:

OMG you people need to get a FRICKEN LIFE!!!!

  25. MOUSE says:

I feel everyone needs to get a life. When non-black actors get in trouble its never broadcast all over but let someone black get in trouble oh my God its a never end story. We all have skeletons in the closet so lets just get on with our lives and make sure we can talk. Remember “people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones”. I don’t watch CSI anymore because Warrick is gone. You could fired him and let him get shot with a permanent injury keeping him from returning to work or let him move away with his son.

  26. catherine shaw says:

agree with mouse, the crap william petersen has pulled has been tolerated and hidden by the studio and show execs!
these people are paid big bucks, they lie and scam and act like irresponsible children most of the time. If you only knew the real people behind their on screen characters you wouldn’t watch the show or give them, most of them, the time of day……

    • annasophia78 says:

Can you provide more details as to what William Petersen did exactly ? Curious to know why you go out of your way to attack him this way.
