Funny story – CB asked me yesterday if I thought some professional PR people were angling to get their clients onto Hot Guy Friday. I don’t think they are – I think you girls just have some odd crushes and you’re very devoted to them. But, as CB has declared it, I am the Mistress of HGF, and I am the final decider. Except not really, at this point the list is mostly suggestions. But I try to only put on the dudes I (mostly) agree with. Like the headliner of today’s Hot Guy Friday, the lovely Eric Bana. Eric has never made it to my top five (or even my top ten), but I think he’s a supremely talented dude, and he’s gorgeous. He seems like a sweetheart too – married forever, good family man. Oh, and he’s ridiculously sexy. Have you ever seen Munich? He plays tortured very well, and even as his character is falling apart, you’re like “Oh, yes, you are fabulous.” A few more photos:
Oooh, I’m so glad someone suggested Daniel Sunjata! He’s in everything – notably Rescue Me. He’s a really good actor, and his dimples are lickable. Too much? I want his dimples to meet my vagina. How is that?
Even though Russell Crowe is a pudgy, smelly, conceited shell of The Hotness he once was, I like to reminisce about the old-school Russell. The dude I fell in love with in L.A. Confidential. Between the violence and the costume porn and Russell, that’s another great movie to watch (David Strathairn is in it too! Oooh, I should put him in!)
Mm… Strathairn. He really is a striking, handsome man. Raw talent, too.
A little Isaiah Mustafa, otherwise known as “The Old Spice Guy”. I’m doing a photo of him fully clothed, just because seeing him shirtless is played out, and he looks nice in a suit.
Now for a little something spicy. ANTONIO!!! I love him, and he’s never made a HGF appearance, right? So sad. Not only is he hot, but he’s really, really funny too.
Remember when Joseph Fiennes was really, really hot stuff? It was, like, the late 1990s. Everyone was like, “Oooh, Ralph better watch out!” And now people are like, “Oh, him.” I still like Joseph, though. Not as much as Ralph, but Joe is still gorge. How did he get such lovely brown eyes when Ralph got such piercing blue-green eyes?
Daniel Day Lewis is so lovely to me. He just seems like a righteous soul. I’m even willing to forgive the fact that he used to date Julia Roberts.

Yes, Matthew Macfayden is kind of a dork with a receding hairline. But two things make up for it: even with the sketchy hair, he’s rather dashing and lovely, and two: HIS VOICE. His voice is amazing.
Here’s one I don’t think anyone has ever suggested, and I don’t know why. Rodrigo Santoro is f-cking beautiful. He is one of the most beautiful men in the world, in my opinion. Soooo pretty.
I’ve mentioned before that I used to be completely obsessed with Philip Seymour Hoffman, right? I LOVE him. Like, I almost lost my sh-t when his girlfriend started having his babies.
IDRIS. Hells to the yes. Idris plus Gerard? Heaven. Just ignore Thandie F-cking Newton.
It’s kind of weird how I only find Michael Weatherly attractive in photos, never on NCIS. I think it’s the Tony character, right? Tony is a jackass, even though he’s a great agent. But now that I’m staring at photos of him, he’s the hotness.
Benjamin Bratt… once again, didn’t really care for him on Law & Order, but like him a lot in photos.
I think Tyrese Gibson is kind of dorky-looking, honestly. I think that if he didn’t have such a great body, nobody would pay attention.
Dermot Mulroney is my idea. I find him more attractive without the grey, but hey, I’d still hit it like a house on fire.
Remember when Colin Farrell used to drink and do drugs and snort vadge on an hourly basis? I’m not saying I don’t love the new, sober, beautiful Colin. I’m just saying the fantasies were better when you knew you had a chance (to get The Herp):

Um, why hasn’t anyone suggested Sam Shephard, ever? Because Sam is The Man. He’s so sexy.
I was a little bit weirded out when everyone suggested Jeremy Irons last week. Sure, he’s made some sexy movies (Damages). And yes, he’s a great, even wonderful actor. But overall, I find him to be very sickly-looking. But, different strokes.
Til Schweiger was in Inglourious Basterds, and he’s considered Germany’s Brad Pitt or something. He’s a good looking dude, don’t get me wrong. But meh.
I think we have some Trekkies in the hizzy, and they love some modern Sulu. So, a little John Cho.
CB thinks Karl Urban looks like the Pregnant Man. I think he’s cute, though! He’s got a Budget Eric Bana vibe.
I love Michael C. Hall. I don’t really want to do dirty things with him, but I do want him to be healthy, and maybe I would cook for him.
Here’s another one of my guys. I LOVE Marton Csokas. He’s a character actor who has been in everything from The Bourne Supremacy, to Aeon Flux to Kingdom of Heaven. He’s sexy as hell. Piercing. That’s what I always thing – “This dude is piercing.”
I love some Roger Federer. He has a strange face, but it’s kind of quirky and handsome. His body is killer though. And he seems like a lovely man. Also: I love his tennis-playing “O” face.
I am a former West Wing obsessive, so you know I love some Dule Hill. Is he hot, though? Eh. Yes, he’s a talented actor. But he’s more “cute” than anything.
For some reason, I’ve been thinking a lot about Viggo Mortensen lately. I keep getting flashbacks from his nude fight scene in Eastern Promises. I really should watch that again.
And we’ll end it on Clive, okay? Do we need to say anything? This man is perfection. And Jesus Christ, Clive Shirtless is just the best thing ever, isn’t it?

I feel like this list is skewing kind of older. Love Nelsan Ellis. I’ve never gotten the Eric Bana thing–doesn’t do it for me. Love me some Idris Elba. I’m generally not attracted to Asian men but I LOVE John Cho. And THANK YOU for Daneil Sunjata. He is so fucking sexy. God he’s beautiful. But has anyone seen the episode of Lie to Me where he played a serial rapist? It traumatized me. It wasn’t the raping part that got me, it was how he kept his victims from identifying him. Interesting collection, love the fact that Daniel Day Lewis and Jeremy were included – I wouldn’t fancy either but they, like the brilliant Philip Seymour Hoffman are – well – brilliant. (horrific Jeremy photo though) And they are some nice photos of Eric Bana.

Love HGF!! My suggestion for next week’s is Romany Malco who played Conrad for several seasons of Weeds. I love Weeds but I’m always hoping Conrad will show up again. Romany is super hot and his scenes with MLP were quite ripe with sexual tension. Anyone know what he’s up to now? I haven’t seen him since Weeds.

Wow, the Philip Seymour Hoffman mention got me to comment for the first time ever. My friends make fun of me for this weird crush I have on him. It makes no sense but something about him, yeah I want to jump his bones. There was this guy at uni few years back who looked like the younger version of him (less Santa-esque that that pic granted) and Capote had just come out – so I nicknamed him Capote. It’s the broody vibe I think…god I should’ve gotten Capote drunk, just to get rid of this Hoffman fetish haha.

Oh, I love Jeremy Irons! I’d totally turn for a chance to hit that. His voice… I think Michael Weatherly’s charming. I remember a few years ago he came to Australia to present at the Logies (our version of the Emmys), and everyone just lost their shit over him, when no one had even heard of him a week before.

I met Eric Bana 2 years ago at the Tribeca Film Festival. He was promoting his documentary. He stayed and met with everyone there they urged us NOT to take pictures and he would only sign autographs. Needless to say the line for autographs was HUGE! I was the 5th person on the line and asked him for a picture he said yes of course and the guard said no pix he said no it’s ok I will take pictures with my fans! He was the sweetest guy ever which made him hotter than ever in my book! I left after a brief convo with him and picture. When i walked by he was still there making sure he got to every single person there! He’s AWESOME!!

Eric Bana and Colin Farrell are pretty much sex-on-a-stick, so kudos for those! I would like to second the requests for Wentworth Miller, Paul Walker, and Andy Whitfield. And request Dwayne Johnson, preferably sans clothing (like in the Scorpion King. YUM!).
I suggested Daniel Sunjata last week, and no, I didn’t like those panties. Or those pants. Or the chair I’m sitting on… (I have already imagined many, many different ways to introduce his dimples to my vadge!)
