Lindsay Lohan in Vanity Fair: “I’ve never abused prescription drugs”

vf2

Ah, we knew this was happening, but it’s still interesting to see Lindsay Lohan on the October cover of Vanity Fair. VF just released some excerpts from their cover interview, and boy are they hilarious. Wait, did I say “hilarious”? I meant “creepy” and “Lindsay is a lying sociopath who will never take responsibility for anything.” Guess what, everybody? Lindsay has daddy issues! SHOCKING. She’s 24 years old and she still blames all of her problems on daddy, which, sure, whatever. Her dad sucks. But so do a lot of other dads. Oh, but wait – did I insinuate that Lidnsay has “problems”? I meant that Lindsay, in her own words, “never abused prescription drugs. I never have—never in my life. I have no desire to. That’s not who I am.” Sigh… it’s going to be a really long, cracked-out day, isn’t it?

“If I were the alcoholic everyone says I am, then putting a [SCRAM] bracelet on would have ended me up in detox, in the emergency room, because I would have had to come down from all the things that people say I’m taking and my father says I’m taking—so that says something, because I was fine,” Lindsay Lohan tells Vanity Fair contributing editor Nancy Jo Sales.

“I think everyone has their own addictions and hopefully learns how to get past them,” she says, in an interview conducted one week before her jail time began. “I think my biggest focus for myself is learning how to continue to get through the trauma that my father has caused in my life.”

Lohan was visibly upset when she spoke with Sales about Ali’s presence in the courtroom, calling it “heartbreaking” to see her sister cry. However, Lohan feels conflicted about her father’s unexpected appearance at the hearing, telling Sales, “The worst part of it is you turn around and you see your dad crying and normally you’d be, like, happy that your father’s there. But then he has to go and do an interview right after.”

Sales reports that Lohan thinks her career is far from over. “I don’t care what anyone says. I know that I’m a damn good actress. … And I know that in my past I was young and irresponsible—but that’s what growing up is. You learn from your mistakes,” she tells Sales.

Lohan adamantly denies rumors of drug abuse, telling Sales: “I’ve never abused prescription drugs. I never have—never in my life. I have no desire to. That’s not who I am. I’ve admitted to the things that I’ve done—to, you know, dabbling in certain things and trying things ’cause I was young and curious and thought it was like, O.K., ’cause other people were doing it and other people put it in front of me. And I see what happened in my life because of it.”

Lohan blames her troubles, in part, on hanging out with the wrong crowd, Sales reports.

“So many people around me would say they cared for the wrong reasons. A lot of people were pulling from me, taking from me and not giving. I had a lot of people that were there for me for, you know, the party.”

And when she first moved to L.A., Lohan says, “it was very go-go-go and I had a lot of responsibility; and I think just the second I didn’t have [structure] anymore—I was 18, 19—with a ton of money and no one really here to tell me that I couldn’t do certain things … And I see where that’s gotten me now, and I don’t like it.”

She says tabloids were her main source of news, and calls that “really scary and sad… I would look up to those girls… the Britneys and whatever. And I would be like, I want to be like that.”

Sales interviews several paparazzi, and reports that Lohan often cooperates with them for a fee, though Lohan denies this.

“If I called her up right now and said I’ll give you $10,000, she’d come right down,” a photographer tells Sales. “Once you’re famous, there’s always a way to make money,” another photographer says. “She might not be doing what she’d like to be doing, but she’ll always be Lindsay Lohan.”

Despite everything, Lohan is confident in her acting abilities and future: “I don’t care what anyone says. I know that I’m a damn good actress.”

She says she’ll do whatever it takes to fix her party-girl image.

“I want my career back,” she said. “I want the respect that I had when I was doing great movies. And if that takes not going out to a club at night, then so be it. It’s not fun anyway.”

The October issue of Vanity Fair will be available on newsstands in New York and L.A. on Thursday, September 2, and nationally and on the iPad on Tuesday, September 7.

So, what can we say in summary? Lindsay denies being a pillhead but not a crackhead, and she doesn’t mention my theory that she abuses prescription drugs, illegal drugs and alcohol all in conjunction. She’s been in rehab four times for no apparent reason other than daddy issues, and her life was destroyed because she was on her own in Hollywood when she was 18 years old and because she was making lots of money for showing up to clubs. That’s it, basically. Nevermind that she was living in the Chateau Marmont when she was 16 years old and that her mother – never the bad guy, right? – enabled every crackhead move she made for the better part of a decade. Ugh.

By the way, after careful crackhead analysis, I really do think Lindsay’s boobs are implants, judging her on this photo below. She must have gotten them done before she went to jail.

Here are some more pics of Lindsay not being a crackhead yesterday:

After a visit to the Santa Monica court house this morning to meet with her probation officer Lindsay Lohan changed out of her grungy clothes into something with a little more class and style. Lindsay and her trusty assistant made their way into what might be her lawyer's office in Beverly Hills, California on August 30, 2010. Lindsay is not the only dealing with the law these days, her ex-girlfriend Disc Jockey Sam Ronson has been named in a brutal dog attack which occurred near her L.A. apartment this morning leaving one animal dead and the owner with injuries. I swear lying is like breathing for the Lohan family.

  2. l says:

She JUST got out of jail followed by rehab- wouldn’t the first thing somebody do after that is take a nice long hot shower, scrub your body and wash your hair? Yet she looks like she’s been on a week long bender.

    I give up.

  3. Snarf says:

The Lohan mantra: Deny, infigle, obfiscate.

  4. kelbear says:

She is a straight up bum!

  5. Innocent says:

“I’ve never abused prescription drugs. I never have—never in my life.

I can see why she thinks this even although you clearly aren’t supposed to mix them with alcohol.
She is depressed and cuts herself – antidepressants
Can’t sleep alone – Sleeping pills
Was diagnosed as ADHD – Adderall
The Dilaudid for dental pain maybe she has a high tolerance for drugs because of her past abuse.

She has a point about the SCRAM bracelet. It must have been really devastating for her to see Ali crying when she was sentenced and then when she was handcuffed. Also seeing her in jail and being seperated by a glass partition and communicating through a phone.
I don’t know if that will be enough for her to completely sober up but i think she will comply and make it to November 1st.

  6. Praise St. Angie! says:

I know this has been said before but…

with the behavior that she exhibited over the past few years, wouldn’t you think that she’d use the “excuse” of being an addict?

if she’s not an addict, then all of her behavior is just because she’s a self-entitled brat? THAT’S what she’s essentially admitting here…

and Kaiser, she’s had implants since before she was 18. she may have had one set removed and another put in, but she’s had them for a long time.

  7. Fluffy Kitten Tail says:

I don’t understand where people get the idea that because she is Lindsay Lohan, she will always make money. There are many “it” celebs who have been popular and as the years go on, they fade away. So shall she.

  8. Crash2GO2 says:

She’s had implants for years! Remember when she and Sam broke up and she got super skinny? She still had these round balloons on her chest for display for her anorexic bikini photos in Hawaii.

I think she’s just gotten bigger all around and tends to have a big chest anyway.

  9. padiddle says:

If it takes “not going to clubs” to get her career back, and she’s so willing to do that, why was she alraedy going to Chateau Marmont her first couple of days out of rehab?

  10. meme says:

I don’t believe a word that comes out of this brat’s mouth. As for the SCRAM bracelet, one can be an alcoholic/addict and NOT go into convulsions/DTs when they stop drinking. Not everyone in rehab goes to the flight deck.

  11. Cam says:

I’m tired of talking about her, so i wont say anything this time. But I REALLY hope her carreer goes back on track, after all… I feel sorry for her, don’t ask me why.

And yes, Im with you Kaiser, I think Linds got her boobs done before going to jail. Okay, stop… I said I wouldnt comment about it.

  12. Eileen says:

If its not drugs then why does she look like a 45 year old trailer park cougar? I guess she just hit the genetic lottery or something….whatever.

  13. wonderful says:

“And I know that in my past I was young and irresponsible—but that’s what growing up is.”
This is the closest she’s ever come – enjoy it you guys.
I can’t believe she thinks we would buy the “I would have had to go to detox if I were an alchoholic” excuse. Just because we didnt see her go to a clinic, or release a statement about it doesnt mean she couldnt have easily suffered in private with a doctor on house call. Not even saying she DID experience withdrawl, but I am saying her excuse and therefore logic is shitty and stupid.

  14. Innocent says:

    @wonderful
No i think she is right about her not actually being addicted to alcohol.
After May 24th she stayed in for literally one day and then spent 10 hours dying her hair. The next day she visited her probation officer and until the hearing was seen almost every day and night.
She liked to drink, abused alcohol but could actually stop.

  15. electric says:

    @wonderful

agree. Going to detox does not make one an alcoholic.

And, just for the record, I did a lot of drugs/drinking as a young woman, but I managed to stay in school and have a job. Growing up is not about being irresponsible. Making bad choices maybe, but being irresponsible to the point where you endanger yourself and others-no

  16. Jean says:

“I know that I’m a damn good actress.”
Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett and every other actress who is able to play more than one generic teen character beg to differ.

  17. aenflex says:

Yes but her boobs really were banging before…You don’t think maybe she just gains in all the right places and gained a bit while incarcerated? Her legs and arms certainly are thicker anyway. But I digress….

  18. RaccoonPrincess says:

Agreeing with Eileen. She looks, uh, mature in those pictures.

If she would just admit to having done any of the things that, by now, even the raccoons outside the Chateau Marmot know all about, people would find her at least a little sympathetic. Few of us can summon a give-a-darn over a spoiled brat who can’t take responsibility for anything.

  19. Solveig says:

I don’t care what she says, but VF’s pictures are amazing. Ok it’s PS but in my opinion she has great features even when she is stoned and unretouched, except for those inflated slug lips, of course.

  20. dread pirate cuervo says:

I didn’t have any physical withdrawal symptoms when I got sober. Not from drinking, not from dry goods. That is not a prerequisite for having the disease.

I like how she’s all, “Yeah, I blew mad lines back in the day but I would NEVER pop a Xanax!”

  21. a says:

she cleans up well, photoshops up well too.

  22. Tia C says:

“She says tabloids were her main source of news, and calls that “really scary and sad… I would look up to those girls… the Britneys and whatever. And I would be like, I want to be like that.””

I think this is very much STILL true. She thinks that life happens in the tabloids, and if she’s not in there, she’s not happening.

““I want my career back,” she said. “I want the respect that I had when I was doing great movies. And if that takes not going out to a club at night, then so be it. It’s not fun anyway.””

This quote is a minefield – I don’t even know where to begin! MmmmK, Linds. Yep, sure. It’s not fun. That’s why you’ve gone out clubbing almost every night for the past five years. LOL! That’s comical that she would even say that! And what “great movies” and “respect” is she babbling about? “Great movies”?? Really? Name one. The most that can be said about her acting is that she performed decently in a couple of brainless, meaningless teen fluff movies. Boy, she really is delusional. Apple doesn’t fall too far off the tree!

  23. Hautie says:

Well Lohan does look better, in the sense that she gained back some weight.

The orange stain that had covered her face for the last two years has faded.

But geez Vanity Fair must have paid for Mariah’s retoucher to clean up those photo’s. Lohan’s skin has not looked that smooth in years. She practically looks like a 18 year old in those pictures.

And I agree that she had those boobs done before she was 18. At least she got the tear drop ones that tend to look natural. Even with drastic weight loss.

  24. Green Is Good says:

“I know that I’m a damn good actress.”

“Damn good” actresses like Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchette, Helen Mirren, Emma Thompson or Toni Collette don’t have to go around crowing in a magazine how brilliant they. The public knows. And the mutiple awards they’ve received speak for themselves.

  25. TG says:

@Tia C – You said it and so did everybody else. I remember a year or so ago reading an interview with her in, I think it was “Elle” magazine and you could tell the reporter didn’t like her, but she told all the details how they were sitting at the Ivy and Linds was positioning herself for the paps to see her and photograph her and how she catered to the paps and even Linds admitted that she needed them in her life to feel validated. Nothing has changed.

Oh why did Vanity Fair have to put her on the cover with an interview? Now, I will have to cancel my subscription.

  26. The law already proved that she is using drugs or abusing drugs.. so she can’t really deny on that fact..

  27. Tia C says:

@ TG: LOL, yeah, I let my VF subscription lapse, and I was just about to renew it, but now I’m not so sure… 😉

  28. Eleonor says:

She looks sooo photoshopped in the VF pictures.

  29. RHONYC says:

could someone please clue in dumb-dumb…it’s over.

you’ve over. OVA. u missed the boat. that ship has sail. sayonara.

    buh-bye.
    which didn’t you get?
    the buh?
    or the bye?
    buh-bye!

“paging dakota fanning. paging dakota fanning.”

    next! 🙂

  30. Ruby Red Lips says:

Am sooooo bored with Lindsays lies….

    Bored bored bored….

Hopefully this is what everyone will feel and she will disappear off home to her mummy to snort and sniff as an innocent victim with a daddy complex for the rest of her life

    Au revoir Lilo

  31. logan says:

Hey Lindsay this is your old BF Brit.
How you doin girl? You and Paris sure have been in the news alot lately. My daddy says he is goin to call youn’s daddys and tell them how to straighten yall right out. Not to worry though I can tell ya my secrets for still gettin your crazyes on. Like, when I go strollin with out my bra on, I just tell daddy that they make me look like that with trick cameras. He buys it.
Anywho tell Paris I said hi and lets all get together some day soon.
We just all bat sh** crazy,
    Love ya Brit

  32. wonderful says:

Well I never said she for sure experienced detox, as it is possible for an alcoholic to wean from the juice without experiencing the pain. I am saying if she thinks the fact that we did not see her obviously experiencing withdrawl is a viable reason as to why she can’t be an alcoholic, she clearly takes us all for fools.
As a side note, if she wasnt an alcoholic, why would she assume the “milkoholic” e-trade commerical was about her without any prompting at all?? Why arent all of these other hard-partying celebs being called out as she is? Why do we hear so much about her partying if its supposedly totally normal? Because she is doing something the rest of them (Hollywood) dont like – mark my words.
Apparently she is under the mistaken impression that respect is given and not earned.

  33. oxa says:

Over a month locked up and I see nothing has changed for this delusional self- entitled twat.

  34. Jazz says:

How can you tell when an addict is lying? Their lips are moving.

What the hell is she doing on the cover of Vanity Fair?!

  35. Innocent says:

    @oxa
This was BEFORE she was in jail for 2 weeks and a lockdown rehab for 3 weeks.

  36. gretchen says:

just read the article and saw the pics on another site…she did admit to ‘dabbling’ in stuff, that’s an admission of drug use, and ‘taking’ perscription drugs doesn’t equate to abusing them since they are perscribed medication…but my overall take on the article/pictures is that she should be the one that plays marilyn if the pic is ever made, she’s the only one who captures that certain something that the great MM had in abundance.

  37. mln says:

She is horrible I am so disappointed in VF that is worse than the story on Tiger Woods mistresses.

  38. wonderful says:

In the first picture she looks just like Megan Fox when she debuted her new frankenstein face. I think it’s in the lips and the overtly long and pointed nose.

  39. original kate says:

i love how on the VF cover, next to lindsay’s shoulder, are the words “crawling from the wreckage.”

    that is priceless.

  40. Kelley says:

She’s had implants for years, another testament to Dina’s parenting skills (along with allowing Ali to have veneers, a nose job and lip-fillers at age 15). Lindsay is denying the rx drug abuse just like she denied the implants, along with all the other airheads in Hollywood that deny it, even when the implants look like hell (as in horribly fake-looking).

  41. Shy says:

Poor thing. She thinks that she is in Kiefer, RDJ and Britney territory… She is not. She is in Paris Hilton territory. Britney was forgiven because she is mentally sick. It wasn’t her fault. She is stupid, but she is not crackhead. When all her meltdown happened she was mentally ill. And she has normal father, semi-normal mother around her. Even Kevin turned out to be supportive and helped her. And everyone felt sorry for her and public wanted her to be OK.

Lindsay on the other hand doesn’t have anyone around her. And public don’t care if she will be Ok. The first thing they do in rehab is acknowledging your problem. She does not. And never will. She is hopeless. That’s why she will not have any career. And i would like to see some idiot magazines who will pay her big money so she would just sit and say the same things.

And the most funny thing that she thinks she was great actress. She has starred in some teen comedies. Or some very small supporting roles in Bobby and A Prairie Home Companion. She pretty much looked the same in every role. And now she thinks every director will rush out to her… And then she comes out of prison and returns to her old life style…

  42. RHONYC says:

    @ original kate

    bwahahahahaahaaaa!

great observation! lol. you know they did that sh%t on purpose 2!

    too f$ckin’ funny. 🙂

  43. Dexter says:

Kaiser, she had her boobs done years ago, around the time when she did the video clip for “rumors”. They looked horribly fake then. I think she got them re-done as they look more “natural” yet still clearly fake now.

  44. Listerino says:

Hmm call me weird but I actually like the outfit she’s wearing with the tights, shorts and plaid shirt with boots.

But I’m tired of hearing about her. She’s as washed up as Mischa Barton. The only reason anybody cares is because she’s so fun to watch derail herself. It’s like watching another pyscho britney in the making.

I doubt her time in jail did anything to make her want to change. It’s just like when Paris got out and she was all fixed to change her life. Sadly I see Lindsay dying from some kind of overdose in the near future if she doesn’t get some serious help and get away from that crazy mother of hers.

  45. Jeri says:

I guess Michael taught Lindsay to do interviews and “deny deny deny.”

Gee and she hates him giving interviews.

What’d she spend her time doing before jail?

Dina is the one that let her live on her own with no structure at the age of 16.

Time to get with it & quit blaming others for your mistakes & misdeeds.

  46. kim says:

WOW did Vanity Fair just take a dive in my opinion. I used to think it was a good magazine but putting her on cover is very low standards.

  47. kim says:

WOW I HAVE NEVER EVER HEARD SOMEONE SOOOOOOOO IN DENIAL. She needs to stay in rehab. She is a drug addict and a terrible actress. She is in lalalala land of denial big time. No responsible studio would ever hire this crack head.

  48. mollination says:

When boobies lay down they round up in that area. For us teeny-tiny-boobs it’s not much noticeable, but lindsay really does have big boobs so I’m not really all that suprised that they are that round while laying down. I’m not thinking implants.

  49. CB Rawks says:

“cause other people were doing it and other people put it in front of me.”

    FFS.

  50. Ruffian9 says:

Honey, you’re over. There are a lot of good young actresses around who don’t have your baggage. Say goodnight.

  51. d says:

Not surprising her delusion, given how shocked she was at her sentencing, just before she went to UCLA. She totally thought she’d get off and this article sounds like it; like as long as she said the right things, that’s all that mattered. Not that she really seems any more insightful now that she’s out of jail, but I’m sure no one penetrated her delusions there either.

  52. skeptical says:

interesting how she says she was irresponsible but still won’t say what she did wrong.
seriously.. does she really not get that driving while drunk/high/whatever is Bad Thing?

If she understands it.. why can’t she say it?
Oh wait.. that’s right.. she only did these bad things becuase everyone around her was doing them too.. it’s totally their fault!

    Unrepentant self-centered brat.

  53. DrM says:

    B**ch… please!

  54. kellogg says:

Obviously, people are court-ordered to attend SA classes MORE THAN ONCE and have previously been accepted to & attended treatment programs have NOOOO problems with alcohol or drug abuse/dependence. Um, no, Lindsay.

I’ve worked as a clinical counselor (intake is part of our job) in residential treatment facilities. A dual-diagnosis facility treats both MH/SA and many times people are self-medicating.

It is very possible that she doesn’t meet DSM-IV criteria for any mental disorders. The criteria are pretty specific.

She does meet the criteria for substance abuse though: (from the DSM-IV)

“Substance abuse is defined as a maladaptive pattern of substance use leading to clinically significant impairment or distress as manifested by one (or more) of the following, occurring within a 12-month period:

    1. Recurrent substance use resulting in a failure to fulfill major role obligations at work, school, or home (such as repeated absences or poor work performance related to substance use; substance-related absences, suspensions, or expulsions from school; or neglect of children or household).
    2. Recurrent substance use in situations in which it is physically hazardous (such as driving an automobile or operating a machine when impaired by substance use)
    3. Recurrent substance-related legal problems (such as arrests for substance related disorderly conduct)
    4. Continued substance use despite having persistent or recurrent social or interpersonal problems caused or exacerbated by the effects of the substance (for example, arguments with spouse about consequences of intoxication and physical fights).”

LL has a substance abuse problem at present; she wants to shuffle it off on others. Yet by her own admission she has actually fulfilled all these criteria. She’s:
    1. lost acting roles and “reprimanded by studio,” couldn’t “make it back” from Cannes for court date due to lost passport?
    2. DUI x however many
    3. warrant, lack of attention to rules of the court, bar fights
    4. hoarding? missing court dates to hang on a yacht, fu nail

So yeah, Lindsay. A big conspiracy.

I hope she gets it together but I am done giving attention to this brat.

  55. Jacqueline says:

and Im a virgin. regardless if she was misdiagnosed, she is still very bipolar-like
