Last week or the week before, we got an email suggestion nominating Rob Lowe for Hot Guy Friday. I said no – Rob Lowe annoys me, in general. It’s not that I think he’s untalented. He had his moments in The West Wing, although the show really picked up after he left/was fired. But I’ve always thought Rob was a very underrated comedian – his smaller parts working with Mike Meyers were genius, and I always hoped that he would stop with the heavy dramas and start with the solid comedic career. He must have been listening to me, because he joined the cast of Parks and Recreation, and he’s also got a recurring character on Californication.
But what I really wanted to say is that Rob Lowe looks great, doesn’t he? I don’t get hot for him, but I can still admire him for being beautiful. And this is a beautiful man – great body, great face, aging very well. He’s 46 years old! I can’t believe it. And he’s been sober for 20 years – amazing. About his sobriety, Lowe says: “I’ve been sober for 20 years, but you gotta get your fix some way. At a certain point you realize a whole lot of espresso doesn’t do it. That’s why I like helicopter skiing and big-wave surfing. It’s a way for me to keep my edge.” Et cetera. He talks all about his training and stuff, but I barely care. So here’s the question: does Lowe make you hot? Would you hit it?

Speaking of Hot Guy Friday-I never request any guy in particular as I trust that Kaiser will always bring the heat. However, I am requesting that we EXCLUDE the likes of Philip Seymour Hoffman. I adore him but really, seeing a pic of him on HGF is like getting a phonecall from your mom when you’re having sex. It really disrupts the flow of things ya know? Kills the mood.
Let’s just stick to hotness and leave out the “attractive because they are talented”. I want eyecandy, plain and simple.

Rob Lowe was on my walls when I was a teenager,I loved him.He was sooo beautiful.I still think he’s a very good looking guy but I don’t drool when I see him.Of course he deserves a space in the HGF instead of alot others on the list.

Well, since you’ve mentioned HGF, I have a sort of suggestion, instead of a request. How about an old school, vintage HGF? It doesnt even have to be ON friday, but i think it could be cool, to have some Clint Eastwood, from the Leone’s trilogy. Young Robert Redford, Elvis, Marlon Brando, James Dean, and lots of others. Anyways, it’s just a suggestion. =)

I was in love with him from the time I was 8 to about 12 but now I think he is just a little bit too pretty for me and I find that phase a little embarrasing but he is great in comedic roles

I’ve always thought that he is one of the few men who rival Brad Pitt in the looks department. Gael Garcia Bernal is another one, although he’s short. Who cares though…they’re all hot guys!

Is anyone else grossed out by men’s pit hair shots? I think Rob lowe is very, very purty but I could still do without the pits. I suppose it’s impossible to get certain shots without showing that, but… eww. Wish someone could make some sort of pit patch that covered them without looking ridiculous. Hee.

I could do without the pit shots too, Clove. I remember seeing a trailer for that Zac Efron movie, and I was expecting the second credit to go to his pit hair, because they showed it so much.
Rob is ridiculously good looking, but I too find him kind of annoying. So far he’s been OK on P&R but I wasn’t thrilled to hear he’d joined full time. Maybe this will be the role that wins me over though.

I have it on pretty good authority that he’s not stayed sober that whole time. One club I know of was worried they’d lose their license because at a party he called in hookers and heroin. And that was definitely within that 20-year window.
