Lady Gaga bio: Gaga has fired 150 people, made assistant sleep & shower with her

I don’t really follow Lady Gaga with much attention. I’ve seen interviews with her where I was impressed by how well spoken, normal and down-to-earth she sounded despite her wholly manufactured persona. I’ve also read countless interviews where I’ve rolled my eyes at all the ridiculous statements she was making to get headlines, which of course she did. There’s a sharp sweetness about her, like she’s genuine in her affection for her “little monsters” but if you get in the way while she’s collecting more she’ll cut you.

There are several biographies of Gaga out, according to my quick research at Amazon and Star has advance details from a new one that’s out later this month called Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga. The most interesting part to me was a former female assistant’s claim that Gaga hates to sleep alone and would beg her to cuddle up in bed with her every night. The assistant would even end up showering with her the next day. She doesn’t seem to suggest there was anything sexual going on, although with Gaga it’s entirely likely. The assistant and her husband, who worked as Gaga’s manger, went on the record with their full names. They say that Gaga is a perfectionist and a taskmaster who regularly fires people over minor issues:

Gaga’s busy love life is proof of a secret lingering pain, Callahan writes: Her brash persona hides the fact that she is terrified of being alone. After a 2009 breakup with stylist Matthew “Dada” Williams, she even hired Angela [her ex manager David Ciemny’s wife] tp accompany her on the road – and to sleep in bed at night!

“She was tell me… ‘Ok, Ange, you and Dave can go in the back of the bus from 10 o’clock to midnight,” Angela says. But then it was back to cuddling with Gaga, even if they were staying at a hotel. “I would say, ‘Gaga, I have a husband to go home to. I’ll be in the room next door.’ And she’d call and text me: ‘I miss you, Ange, can you come back?’… So I would.”

“We literally… would do our makeup together every morning and get ready for bed together at night,” Angela says. And they’d even shower together to save prep time!

But despite that closeness, Gaga was still Angela’s boss, and she often caught heat for simple mistakes. When she was slammed for accidentally bringing a pair of used nylons to an appearance, Angela says, it was the last straw. She quit.

According to her husband, David, Angela was one of the lucky ones. In his 18-month tenure with Gaga, Ciemny says, he watched her fire more than 150 people. “Everything had to be perfect,” he says, and when it wasn’t, someone had to go.

There’s more in Star’s piece, which you should pick up if you’re interested. The book is out on September 14th and you can preorder it at Amazon. This guy Lüc that Gaga has been seen with is an old boyfriend from NY that she’s always had a thing for and the article goes into that. I read this with some skepticism, though, because as much as it’s critical of Gaga it also plays into her whole image. It’s hard to believe that she’s not in on these stories that paint her as a difficult diva with tumultuous relationships with both men and women. She wants people to talk about her. It almost doesn’t matter how critical we are, as long as we’re paying attention.

I don’t mind being a human bolster for Lady Gaga. :p

It really seems that though she strives for perfection, she ends being a hardcore extremist. Well, what can you do when she comes across as incredibly passionate about what she does?

Her choice in men just astound me.

Romance and relationships are probably the most “imperfect” things in her life.

Can’t wait to see what you’ll surprise us with next, Gaga. 🙂

“It almost doesn’t matter how critical we are, as long as we’re paying attention.” Let’s make a list of everyone that includes–nah, we all know it IS everyone.

  3. Fluffy Kitten Tail says:

I don’t care if she has fired 300 people and is into women, men or animals. That is her business, and whatever works for her.

  4. lilred says:

Any and all attention, just as long as you’re talking about GaGa.

  5. Tia C says:

Lady Caca is fugly and her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Each to their own of course, but I don’t get her appeal at all.

  6. Sandy says:

I think she’s nuts and she’s going to to implode.

  7. Cam says:

She’s passionate about what she does, and yes… she’s a perfectionist, SO WHAT? it’s her job and she can do whatever she wants, it’s not like it’s NOT working for her. She succeeded in everything (except relationships) so far, and if takes firing 150 people, so be it.

  8. TG says:

If the assistant is telling the trust than why has she not filed a lawsuit for harrassment? I don’t get these assistants complaining about things that show abusive behaviour to the extreme. Take your complaint to the courthouse if true you only help the next victim for the more complaints filed against an abuser the more difficult you make their life and hopefully they will end up in jail.

  9. California Surfer says:

And I thought where I work is bad for the revolving door.

  10. hapygoleslie says:

madonna from thirty ago, but she turned out successful, except for the divorces, acting and the directing stuff, but hey she has a 30 years younger boyfriend so it works out okay lol

  11. Oi says:

wait, what? There are biographies-PLURAL- of what ever she is? Really?

  12. Moreaces says:

I really like the picures of her that came out a little while of her dressed in drag/as a man

  13. denise says:

Counting the days till Gaga goes away….

  14. vibius says:

Stuff like this doesnt make her seem like a perfectionist, it makes her seem unstable.

  15. original kate says:

for a woman who tries so hard to be interesting she is amazingly boring.

  16. GatsbyGal says:

I don’t understand people who can’t be alone. This really makes me question everything about Gaga, because I’ve always found that the people who can’t stand lonliness the most are the most unintelligent and the most uncreative. They need constant outside stimuli. They’re unable to use their own minds to entertain themselves.

  17. gee says:

All these defenders… if this was someone you don’t like you’d be shouting “freak.”

Blegh.. Gaga has some talent but sold her soul to be famous.

  18. Jover says:

Excellent comments Gatsby Gal and Original Kate; our media saturated world is draining very quickly what few marginally interesting qualities/things there are about Gaga. Her life before she became famous is quite ordinary and didn’t afford her any interesting experiences to draw from to enrich her music, hence the endless contrivances she resorts to.

  19. bb says:

She’s not a freak she’s way too ordinary for my tastes.

  20. shiny666 says:

i don’t even understand the notion of any slight eccentricity being somehow surprising. whether she’s just a star, or really an artist, either way a little eccentricity is for me quite normal. i mean this is as much as saying that she has a pet cat who must have her sardines in mustard, drinks darjeeling at 2:30pm sharp, or must have pall mall menthol 100s. it’s just not odd for someone in the limelight, or even out of it, to have a few quirks. perhaps she also mutilates plush dolls? that would disturb me far more.

  21. Liana says:

I can’t and won’t judge her based on her internal eccentricities and quirks. Considering how some of my friends are/were, she’s actually a little normal. Sometimes people can’t and shouldn’t left alone with their minds.

  22. Dhavy says:

She looks like Billy Joel with a blonde wig in the last picture

I still can’t find what the big deal with her is

  23. LOL says:

None of this is true, people. I know her and her family, and one of her parents usually travels with her on the various legs of her tours.
The alleged “assistant” is looking for her own 15 minutes, as a confidentiality agreement would definitely have been in place, and– as someone else pointed out– the lawsuit would already be filed.
As far as firing 150 people, it’s her show, she gets to decide the particulars and specifics of the how’s and who’s, it’s her prerogative.
And I couldn’t care less who she dates/sleeps with.
    Get a grip.

  24. gg says:

I love her in all white.

While I respect her as a musician, a curiosity and kickass performer with permanent slots on my workout mix — the way she has been living and talking, the girlene is headed for a spectacular crash, sooner rather than later. Worse, after she recovers from said crash, she might turn into Mecha Epic Bitch for reals. :: dinosaur rawr ::

In other words, what Sandy said. ^^^

  25. sillycybin says:

GatsbyGal, while that may be true of a lot of people who can’t be alone…I have to disagree. Sometimes those who can’t stand being alone the most are the ones who are hurting so much that their brains eat themselves when they’re alone – and they need to socialize to come out of their psychosis. If she’s as damn neurotic as these allegations make her out to be, I’d imagine that’s more likely in her case.

  26. Xen says:

You bet if this was describing any other celebrity the nails would be out and that person (more so if female) would be torn apart, but because it’s Gaga, all the blind sheep are out to defend every single thing she does.

  27. Kitty says:

My problem with this book is the unprofessionalism of these two crew members. A tour manager and a personal assistant in this business both know how paramount confidentiality is. I’d be surprised if they ever work again. Would you hire them, knowing they’d cash in on the private details of your life and inner circle? I sure wouldn’t!

So what if she’s fired people. Let them try being the sole controller of a global empire at age 23 and muster the courage to make necessary decisions to keep it moving forward in a productive way.

Yay google is my king aided me to find this outstanding site! .
