First of all, this news comes from TMZ, which has repeatedly questioned whether Oskana’s injuries were self inflicted and seems to run stories straight from Mel’s camp. So it’s entirely possible that these latest twists in a story we’ve heard mercifully little about lately are strategically planted to make Oksana look bad. It’s also entirely possible that this is the way things are going down in court, and that she made these somewhat outrageous-sounding demands. After what she (supposedly, I guess, although I have little doubt) went through, can we blame her? Does it make her claims of domestic abuse, of which she had ample evidence including Mel ranting and admitting to it on tape, any less credible? I say no, but there will inevitably be those of you who say it does.

Here’s the latest, that Oksana supposedly wants over $80,000 from Mel to pay the bill for her public relations team.

Oksana Grigorieva spent tens of thousands of dollars in PR to thwart public perception that she sold the secret tapes — and now she wants Mel Gibson to foot the bill … this according to sources.

We’re told Oksana racked up $84,000 in PR expenses and certain unpaid legal fees. As for the PR fees, our sources say Oksana felt hiring PR reps was the only way counter someone as big and powerful as Mel Gibson. Oksana — who insists she didn’t sell the tapes — felt she was getting trashed in the media.

Sources say Oksana wants Judge Scott Gordon in the custody/child support case to clear the $84,000 debt.

Here’s the disconnect. The judge would never award money for PR expenses. Aside from legal fees, Judge Gordon would adjust the existing agreement — $5,000 a month plus the house — only based on the needs of baby Lucia.

As we first reported … Oksana’s lawyers have gone to court and asked Judge Gordon to up the monthly child support obligation to upwards of $40,000.

We’re told the judge has yet to rule on the request.

She also supposedly wants to up her $5,000 a month child support from Mel to $40,000 a month, and already gets $2,500 a month from Timothy Dalton for their 13 year-old son. Cue the “gold digger” claims. Oksana may be a gold digger, but what else would she see in Mel? It’s been a long time since that guy was a movie star heartthrob. Mel is an abusive bastard and he’s worth nearly a billion dollars. I can’t blame her for asking for some cash for her trouble. It’s not like she knew he was going to beat her or that she “framed” him. Those charges are ridiculous.

There are two cases possible pending in LA pertaining to this whole mess. There’s the issue of whether Oksana tried to extort money from Mel, and TMZ claims that case is pretty strong and that cops want to interview Mel a third time before turning the case over to the DA. Again, this is TMZ and they would make a case for Mel.

The domestic violence case against Mel has already been turned over to the DA. It’s clear that this is far from over.
