Kate Hudson & Owen Wilson break up

In news that probably makes a lot of people very nervous, Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson have broken up. Again. You’ll remember that Owen attempted suicide after his last breakup with Kate this past summer. The pair rekindled their romance two months ago, much to the worry of their family and friends. Several unnamed “sources” said they didn’t think it was a healthy relationship for either of them to be in. But as time went on and happy pictures came out, it seemed the pair could maybe make a better go of it this time around. Turns out that was not to be.

Despite a flurry of engagement rumors, Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson – Hollywood’s most notorious on-again, off-again couple – have called it quits, less than two months after rekindling their romance in Miami. The end of their erratic courtship (they began dating in September ’06) comes amid erroneous reports that the pair were engaged, fueled by photos of Hudson wearing a Tiffany & Co. ring (it was a prop!) both on-and-off set of her film Bride Wars, which she’s filming in Boston.

“It was a pretty bad breakup,” says a Wilson pal. “Owen said it was a tough one. He definitely doesn’t want to dwell on it. He wants to put it behind him.” Since the split, Hudson, 29, and Wilson, 39, have each been spotted letting loose. On May 9, Hudson and Bride Wars costar Steve Howey, 30, visited Boston’s Liberty Hotel bar, Alibi. And on May 11, Wilson dropped by N.Y.C.’s Upstairs with two women.

“He was pretty chummy with the ladies … he was certainly doing some sweet talking,” according to an onlooker. “He looked happy to be there hanging with them.” The late-night outing was followed by a visit to Butter the next night, where he chatted up a sexy blonde. Says a Hudson source: “She feels dumb thinking it was so serious.”

Us Weekly reports that their relationship was never serious or monogamous, and that Owen was still heavily playing the field.

Another source close to the couple says they’ve always had a “loose and open thing — never serious, and definitely not monogamous.”

On May 4, Hudson partied with pals in a Boston bar. That same week, Wilson was spotted flirting with women with Miami club Quattro, according to the Miami Herald.

The paper reports that more than a few of them were starting to avoid Wilson’s phone calls because he’d become “so skanky.”

Hearing Owen Wilson say it was a really hard break up makes me nervous for his health. It’s good he’s being honest – hopefully is friends and family are really looking out for him. There’s no word on who broke up with whom, or how mutual it was. Hopefully they’re both in a better place than last time, and can move on with their lives in a healthy, happy way.

geez…i told you so back then. hope he´ll be looked after.

  2. Syko says:

Oh god, I hope he’s okay. I’m no huge fan, but I don’t want to see him try suicide again over some silly damned girl.

  3. ~Audrey says:

I hope that his mental health is stable. I would hate to hear that he tried to hurt himself again. I feel badly for people with a depressed state of mind. I hope he is seeing a therapist.

Sorry, but if the thing about them never being serious or monogamous is true, then why in hell would either one of them be so upset? Seems to me at least one of them wanted to be monogamous. You always say you were never really serious AFTER you break up, just to make it seem like you didn’t get dumped.

To be honest, the general demeanour of He Of The Glorious Flaxen Hair seems different now to then. I could be reading too much into it, he had a read sadness in his eyes and didn’t have his usual sparkle in The Darjeeling Limited.

If this is the case then it was a damned sight more than just Kate Hudson was behind his suicide attempt. Of course it is my humble opinion that if that breakup had anything to do with it, it was as something that put a tin hat on a pretty deep depressive episode.

Jeez Katrina and ADD, those are horrible things to say… :? Please take your senseless bitching some place else.

I feel bad for Owen but I can’t imagine its been easy for Kate either. A divorce, a small child, and being held somewhat responsible for your ex’s suicide attempt – all in the public eye. jeez.

  8. CB Rawks says:

Way to step it up, spambot! That almost sounded like you cared about the article!

It really pisses me off that people were bitching about her last time.
Kate is not in ANY way responsible for Owen’s choices.
“Ooh geez, I guess she’d better sacrifice her own life forever and stay with him just in case this guy is too frail to go on without her…”
That’s actually blackmail, people. And she would be a hostage.

  9. Leni says:

No-one else is ever responsible for a person’s suicide attempt. That is a personal choice and the other factors tend to be the state of mind, and any drugs (which include alcohol) the person maybe doing. Suicide is very sad, but it is a personal choice at the end of a long road usually. Kate is no more responsible for it than his brother is or anyone else.
Owen appears to be a Player so I doubt he was serious about Kate any more than anyone else.
I hope they both find what they are looking for.

She is a whore Owen – leave her be!

  11. Bodhi says:

He Of The Glorious Flaxen Hair  Thats hilarious!!

There is some seriousl uncalled for venom going on here. Wishing for someone to commit suicide? Thats really fucked up

  12. Jude says:

Owen is a good actor but not much in the mentalstability department. He tried to kill himself when she dumped him now he is doing 3somes with Vince Vaughn lol Kate is far better off without that baggage. He needs to get off the drugs, drugs contribute to depression and abnormal behavior.

  13. Little Hutt says:

Marry me Mr Wilson, and let’s have many babies.

That’s all I wanted to say.

  14. Julia says:

I hope he gets his act together – I would really hate to see him become a statistic (I have a little crush – erm, have had for years! )

  15. Leo says:

Owen looks so familiar. I can’t remember what movies he was in but I know I’ve seen him in something very popular. As far as his breakup goes…I don’t know why these hollywood types even get together in the first place. It’s all such a joke. It seems like the only couples that stay together are the ones where the celeb marries a non celeb.
