Paris Hilton buys 20 rabbits from the pet store to save them from snakes

parisbunniesheader
It’s hard to know where to start with Paris Hilton. She admitted on Ellen Degeneres’ show in 2008 that she had 17 dogs, and explained that “they keep having babies and I feel bad to give them away.” When Ellen asked her why she didn’t have them fixed, she said “they all just got fixed,” but then admitted that two of them weren’t fixed when Ellen told her that she could tell she was lying. Paris recently bought all 20 rabbits from a pet store after she was appalled to learn that snake owners sometimes purchased them as food. She tweeted several photos of herself posing with her menagerie of bunnies, which she apparently set free in her backyard. She’s going to have a hell of a lot more than 20 rabbits if she doesn’t put them in individual hutches soon.

More pets for Paris.

The 29-year-old heiress has Twittered that she recently walked into a pet shot and was shocked to learn that several rabbits would become food for snakes.

“I had to save them,” she wrote. “I rescued 20 of them. They are now happy living in my backyard. They are all so happy, so nice to have changed their fate.”

Hilton’s playtime with her pets may soon be strained.

The heiress was recently charged with felony cocaine possession following her Aug. 28 arrest in Las Vegas. If convicted, she faces four years in prison.

[From US Weekly]

Just looking through Paris’ twitpics – she has countless dogs, several cats including a new kitten she just adopted, ferrets, hamsters, guinea pigs, something called a “miniature possum” and some kind of bird. I’m sure there’s more. She basically has a small zoo in her house and I hope she has people taking care of those creatures when she’s away. Many of you are hoping that Paris might be going away for some time, but that might not be the case. E! Online reports that she’s been offered a potential plea deal through which she could avoid jail time for her cocaine bust. I figured that was going to happen.

These are all recent photos from Paris’ Twitpic. She’s an animal hoarder.

    those poor animals

  2. LittleFATMe says:

I am sure there is a staff taking care of them, and if that is the case great. Still use your money and celebrity to help with activism, not just buying out the store!

  3. a says:

she needs to hire someone to split up and care for those rabbits…

  4. Noxqqivit says:

Her poor neighbors… they are going to be over run with bunnies in the bushes.

  5. dingle says:

i think she had all of those animals so she can pose with them

  6. TaylorB says:

This is Paris, for heavens sake she is probably looking at/petting them lovingly whilst deciding which one would be better for mittens or a shrug.

  7. PsychicEyes says:

Anyone who loves animals and takes care them still has a soul. Too many horror stories of animal abuse. They do appear to be in good hands and well looked after — she does have that animal vibe; I don’t think she’s faking it. Animals are such intelligent and beautiful creatures and I wish that more people would adopt them or even help the wildlife in their area. But PLEASE have your pet(s)spayed/neutered!

  8. LuvHotGuyFri says:

Maybe Bubbles the chimp can move in.

  9. Stephanie says:

I have a heart for animals. As long as they’re cared for an fixed so as to not to contribute to the overpopulation of animals, it’s great that she’s giving them a good home.

  10. Bubbles says:

I hope she gets them fixed soon. Bunnies can have up to like 16 in a litter…

Paris, please read up on how to take care of house bunnies: http://www.rabbit.org. It’s not as easy as you think, they are at risk from birds of prey in your backyard. Plus, not being wild bunnies, they’ve never learned wild survival skills like hiding from other animals, what to eat/not eat etc. Good news is that you can litter box train them. But PLEASE – GET THEM FIXED!

    How old is she?

  11. Fluffy Kitten Tail says:

I am not going to hate on her either. I sincerely think she loves animals, and as an animal rescuer and lover myself, I think she genuinely cares for her pets.

I am sure, with the money she has, she has a staff that cares for them. I know in the past it was reported she neglected her pets, but I have my doubts. I do not have her money and I have several pets, and I do not neglect them, so I find it hard to think she would.

Anyway, good for her for having a heart when it comes to animals. I worked in a shelter for a while, and it breaks your heart when you know how some of these animals came to be in the shelter.

  12. Lisa St. says:

    The bird is a cockatiel.

  13. Squirtle says:

Well she has more than enough money to take care of these animals and she’s also got plenty of space so I really don’t see a problem with it as long as they are properly taken care of…Also I don’t think she can be called an animal hoarder. If anyone has ever seen those shows on Animal Planet you would see that 17 dogs is nothing, compared to the nuts that have over 100 dogs in crammed in a tiny, disgusting little house with the majority of them malnourished or diseased.

  14. Oi says:

I hate to be bitchy, but I think I’m on the right site, so here goes:

#1: So, the bunnies get to live, but snakes just get to starve? ok…(there are no snakes that are herbivores. Period. If you want to feed them their natural diet, they eat meat.)
#2: She should have bought the MICE. Only huge snakes like boa constrictors can eat rabbits. Most snakes (that can be kept as pets) need something smaller.

  15. SammyHammy says:

That bird is a cockatiel-I used to breed them (had one hatch right in my hand!).

I have no love for PH, but I can’t hate on her right now. Even if her judgement is screwy, it seems her heart is in the right place. If she wants to care for lots of pets (or pay staff to do so) then good for her.

But she really, really needs to make sure her pets are spayed & neutered and get regular veterinary care. I hope she is doing so.

(PS I just want to grab that kitten right out of her hands and rub its little tummy!)

  16. SammyHammy says:

oh, I almost missed it…looks like she has an African Grey parrot as well.

  17. Riley says:

I love my dogs but I realize I can’t save every dog. I donate money to the SPCA regularly and I take really really really good care of the dogs that I own. It breaks my heart when animals are mistreated, but I can’t open my house to every animal who breaks my heart. It does more harm than good. I was very sad to read several years ago, breeders for these miniature pigs (I think) advertise on their web site that Paris Hilton became the proud owner of one of their pigs. Basically, encouraging people to be like Paris and order pigs as pets from them. But this is why we have animal mills and horrible backyard breeders. People will see the pig with Paris, think it is cute, and want one for themselves. Backyard breeders will do anything to keep up with demand, and no reputable breeder would ever announce that such and such a celebrity bought one of their animals. I do not wish to imply that Paris Hilton is the cause of all unethical breeding of animals in the US, but she is doing nothing to stop it. And keep in mind, girl was arrested for coke possession a few weeks ago. When you are flying all over the world and partying every night it is hard to take care of your pets.

  18. melangie says:

so now the bunnies are coyote chow instead of snake snacks?

  19. elusive says:

The animals look well cared for, though probably not by her. I cant hate on her collection. If I had all the time money and resources the she has Id have as many as she does.

Also her ferret is adorable..I miss mine 🙁

  20. manda says:

I feel like I read a story a few years back about how Paris lost some of her dogs (where is tinkerbell?!?), or left them alone and they starved…? Hopefully it was BS because that breaks my heart.

  21. malachais says:

Its very sweet that she is uses her wealth to care for a multitude of animals, but I can’t help but think that house reeks of cat piss, and stinky bird/rat/possum/whateverstrangeanimal. I feel bad for her house keepers.

  22. Bee says:

But, who’s going to save the rabbits from Paris?

  23. Anti-icon says:

Paris Hilton is a walking nightmare to all society–people or human. She hoards, she consumes, she exploits, she runs roughshod over the law….I hope she goes down hard with this latest cocaine arrest. She wasn’t even a good sister, as I recall, when her younger brother was arrested for a DUI, she was too self-righteous to bail him out or speak to him again. Meanwhile, she’s whoring and coking and collecting like the felony criminal she is……what a human waste. Thanks Hilton Family.

  24. guilty pleasures says:

Seriously, is this not the thinking of a four year old? ‘Mommy, can we take ALLLL of the puppies/kitties/bunnies…please. please, please????’
And mommy lovingly explains responsibility and a little bit of how the world works. The upshot is that you don’t go home with the entire SPCA in your mini-van.
Does this woman/child have NO common sense?

  25. bizzy says:

i loathe lindsey, and loff don’t mind paris. inconsistency, thy name is bizzy.

  26. Kitten says:

Aw man. I’m not a fan but hard for me to hate on anyone who loves animals. I’ve wanted a bunny to be friends with my Foldie for such a long time (can cats and bunnies be buddies?).
I’ve hesitated adopting one because my cat pretty much owns me and I’m scared to upset her. The balance of power in my household is so off-kilter it’s not even funny 🙁

  27. jamie says:

i’m sure her staff is oh so thrilled to have more animals to take care of

  28. elusive says:

    @ Kitten
You could easily have a cat a rabbit together, but I would never leave the rabbit alone unsupervised. I had 1 cat 1 dog and 3 ferrets all together. You just have to make sure the cat knows the rabbit is off limits and be willing to supervise at all times – instincts are instincts. If your cat is a mouser already I’d avise agains it. The ferrets always ran the house when they were out, the dog would just leave them alone (leave the room) and the cat would watch them, play with them…but they ferrets were always supervised when out with the other animals.

  29. suz says:

You know what, if I was obscenely rich, I too would have a mini-zoo of rescued animals and/or would use my resources to help them, so I can’t really hate on her for this. Of course, she’s pretty dumb and those animals could be in better hands, but I really think she means well.

  30. lucy2 says:

I hope there’s a staff too, because I doubt very much she takes proper care of anything. She doesn’t strike me as a responsible pet owner, seems to buy whatever’s trendy, and uses them more as accessories than pets. I’ve seen several stories about how overrun shelters are with small dogs like chihuahuas after a bunch of idiots did the same and now don’t want them anymore. Terrible.

Kitten, I’m in the same boat – I’d love to give a good home to another cat, but my one is queen of the castle, and would not tolerate anything else. So instead I donate to my local shelter as much as possible.

  31. Saoirse says:

@ Elusive: I agree. I used to have a ferret too and I miss my little man…
@Kitten: They can be, but usually you need to raise them together as babies for that to work, unless one pet or the other has been raised around the other.

  32. Ms_Fu says:

This is ridiculous. What are snakes supposed to eat? Grass? Why doesn’t she also buy the rats or mice that the pet shop owner will eventually buy to feed the snakes?
Sorry, snakes are carnivores and just because rabbits are cute and fluffy doesn’t make them to good to be another animal’s meal.

  33. QQ says:

Who Let’s her have Pets when is Well known that the blind item about the chick letting her dog DIE in her closet cause “She forgot” is her… Not to mention the shitloads of stories about letting them overrun her places with filth, or them running away and her neighbors keeping them

  34. Eve says:

    @ Bee (comment # 22):

Damn! You “stole” my comment! I was about to post the EXACT same thing.

She may like the animals but I’ve stories of some of her pets allegedly starving to death (one was forgotten inside a closet or something) and being ran over (a kitten she didn’t care much after having adopted it) simply because she didn’t take care of them.

    @Kitten:

Aw man. I’m not a fan but hard for me to hate on anyone who loves animals. I’ve wanted a bunny to be friends with my Foldie for such a long time (can cats and bunnies be buddies?).

Well, my cat used to “kidnap” bunnies from the neighbour’s house so he could play with them (in ours). He didn’t hurt them at all — would treat them as his own pets. But I had to return them to the neighbour and excuse myself every time (yes, he did it more than once).

  35. Luki says:

I can’t say I blame her, I would have MORE than her if i have the kind of money she has. But its insane how much neutering a bunny cost in the city, the cheapest I found where i live is 400+ for my bunny. Imagine 20 bunnies O.o

Also, cats and bunny can become pretty close bonded pairs. You just have to introduce them properly. Its really funny to watch, because of the way bunny hierarchy works and how cats likes to lick the bunny, the bunny thinks he’s the alpha, so the bunny is more dominate most of the time, and you’ll see your bunny chasing the cat, lol.

  36. Kitten says:

Thanks for all the advice guys! I wish I could get a “trial bunny” or a “trial kitty” but I know if I fostered on a temporary basis, I would just end up keeping the pet (too hard to give up!). My cat is a Scottish Fold, she is super-mellow and NOT a huntress so I do think a bunny would be safe. Anyway, I wish we could communicate so I could just ask her straight-up “What do you think about a friend?” 🙂

  37. OMG says:

She may love animals, but she needs to research them before she brings them into her home. Rabbits should not be housed outside and they need to be spay/neutered. Ger a clue Paris.

  38. FRANK says:

Remember that DOGS AND CATS EAT MEAT, TOO. So it is HYPOCRISY to applaude someone who saves bunnies from serving as food for snakes, but has lots of cats and dogs for the food of which MANY OTHER ANIMALS ARE KILLED.

  39. Eve says:

    @Kitten:

But my cat didn’t hunt them, Kitten…he used to visit the neighbour’s adult bunnies for some nice “cat’n’bunny” fun! So my guess is that he missed the bunnies when he was back home and decided to bring some of the ones he could carry.

All I’m saying is: it is possible to have both as pets. They get along just fine depending on how you introduce one to another.

  40. erika says:

Paris reminds me of Almira (sp?) from Tiny Toons.

Oh, and this comment -“She’s going to have a hell of a lot more than 20 rabbits if she doesn’t put them in individual hutches soon” – is hilarious. I can just see Paris coming home from a vodka-and-coke binge (did I say that? oops…) to discover that rabbits have taken over her entire yard. That is, unless her dogs and cats don’t find the rabbits first …

  41. Kitten says:

Ohhhh! So Kitty just carried the bunnies around in his mouth? Ha ha..that’s kind of amazing! I have a feeling that is I had a bunny, the bunny would be carrying around MY cat in HIS mouth! 🙂

  42. Bella1 says:

Who will save the animals from her?

  43. sashavice says:

I don’t know if she is doing right by animals when rescuing those bunnies. I owned a lot of snakes and I fed them live mice sometimes. Guess what? It’s called the food chain, and we all are on it somewhere. Those bunnies will be screwing like rabbits, and before you know it she’ll have hundreds. That being said, I think her love of animals is genuine, and I think her heart is in the right place.

  44. Jeri says:

I always thought that she did not find her original dog that she lost and got a ringer so she wouldn’t look neglectful. (I can’t remember the dogs name, imagine that, I don’t have her whole life memorized.) After the dog was quote “found” Paris rarely was pictured with the dog anymore.

  45. Eve says:

    @Kitten:

Ohhhh! So Kitty just carried the bunnies around in his mouth? Ha ha..that’s kind of amazing!

Exactly! Suddenly bunnies started showing up in our house and we had no clue of how that could happen (in less than two days THREE bunnies were in our backyard, mysteriously! It felt like a Twilight Zone kind of thing because there were no holes from which the bunnies could possibly come). I had to find out from which neighbour’s house the bunnies came and when I returned them, he (my cat) ran to the backyard and started searching for something, upon not finding whatever he was looking for, he gave me this look as if he was asking “what the hell did you do to MY bunnies?”. He loved them, I can assure you of that. 🙂

  46. Jag says:

If the rumors are true, those bunnies may or may not be alive next year. I feel sorry for all of her “pets,” as she obviously has a hoarding problem and can’t emotionally attach in a healthy way to any of these creatures. Certainly, if she has staff that takes excellent care of them and semi-adopts them, then it’s a good thing, but she’s long been thought to become “forgetful” about her pets, leaving them to die of dehydration in closets and such. She should stop collecting pets now and instead donate to organizations that are set up to help animals.

  47. whitedaisy says:

Please. Do hate on her, people.
She is the one whose housekeeper found the dead carcass of a dog in the closet when Paris left the country without a plan in place to care for it.
They are only photo opportunities to appeal to animal lovers. Once the cameras are off she is on to the next thing that will get her press.

  48. wonderful says:

It’s funny because this is her trying to be sympathetic to the public after her drug bust, only she is completely unaware that snakes need to live too. Just because they arent as cute doesnt mean they should starve!

  49. GatsbyGal says:

@Frank – WTF are you talking about? Are you seriously calling cats and dogs out for eating meat? They’re animals for crying out loud.

That said, I definitely think that if Paris Hilton weren’t this super-wealthy brat with people to clean her and dress her properly, she’d be a total animal hoarder living in constant filth.

She’s such a child, too. When I was little, I always wanted to buy all the poor lobsters from the tank at the grocery store and then let them live in my bathtub. Having grown up, I realize what a bad idea that would be. I can’t believe Paris let them go into her backyard. They’re going to breed like mad, and now these helpless little pet bunnies are prey for whatever foxes or feral cats are roaming the area.

  50. Kiska says:

This is a stunt to make her look more sympathetic to the public. I bet her lawyers bought over those rabbits and had her pose for the pictures.

She is a disgusting vile creature and I hope she gets fixed so there are no baby parasites walking around in the future!!!

I bet her neighbours are gonna love rabbits shitting, digging and eating up their gardens courtesy of Saint Paris.

  51. Crash2GO2 says:

And also some of those rabits are guinea pigs.

  52. anoneemouse says:

I am a huge animal lover so as long as the animals are well taken care of, kuddos to her for giving them a nice home.

  53. Jenn says:

I hope her heart was in the right place, but she probably doesn’t realize she’s just encouraged (and kept in business) the pet shop who will order in 20 (or more) bunnies to replace the load she just bought. So the cycle continues. Small furry animals are milled just like puppies and kittens in disgusting inhumane conditions. Pet shops are bad for animals…and by bad I mean those shops that wholesale animals in and feed the consumer demand rather than work with local adoption agencies to find homes for the loads of animals already here.

I wouldn’t totally discount the hoarder idea; hoarders deeply believe they are doing the best by the animals. She just has more money than most…hope she’s got a good zoo staff.

  54. Marianne says:

How can she seriously take care of them all? Or give them enough attention. Plus aren’t there laws on how many animals you can keep in your house?

  55. cprincess says:

This moron buys small dogs like purses and now has saved these rabbits??
Im sure it will be fine until she loses interest in them and forgets to feed them or they grow up to be big….
We all know people like her do everything to keep puppy mills going by constantly buying from pet shops-how about rescuing next time you vapid idiot?
In fact,I take that back-no animal should be subjected to her whims-animals need proper long term loving homes-not some play thing for an idiot like her…

  56. Zach Swan says:

This is Paris. She’ll run low on her ADD meds and get bored of them very soon. Then one of her staff will be spotted with a sack of rabbits, headed for the river.

  57. Brittney says:

The “food chain” excuse for buying live animals to feed to your pets is absolutely stupid. You made the decision to purchase a carnivorous animal and keep it in captivity. Also, the food chain only applies to the NATURAL world. Trapping a mouse in a glass box with its much stronger natural predator until the inevitable happens, and it dies, has absolutely nothing to do with the circle of life or with the food chain. I’m not opposed to snakes eating mice or rabbits — that’s foolish, and the snakes’ lives are just as valuable — but I am very opposed to an industry which centers around breeding and selling animals to be crushed to death.

And no, I don’t contribute to the meat industry either.

  58. Mary says:

This poor girl is looking for love in the worst way.

  59. juice in la says:

GAH! I don’t know how to process this. even admitting that I like the dimwitted sentiment of a 4th grader- for her “ideal” is too hard.

but of course this isn’t the right way to go about saving bunnies from being food for snakes, and this foo ought to take her bags of money, hire a couple animal rights activists, a lawyer or two and a zoologist and build a company that works to stop the practices, rather than increase demand for supply…

    I feel better now

  60. DD says:

Animal hoarders have usually been sexually molested as children. Seriously.

  61. Chris says:

Good on her. It’s good to see her finally showing some concern for something other than herself. Maybe if she becomes an animal rights activist it’ll give some much needed direction and purpose in life.

  62. original kate says:

hmmm…has anyone checked the rabbits’ vaginas for cocaine?

  63. Westcoaster says:

Was there really a blind item about a celebrity forgeting about her dog and it died in a closet? Was it assumed to be Paris who was the celeb?

  64. My2Cents says:

If I had her money I would have a zoo too. Good on her for saving the bunnies. Her keepers will look after them and they will have great lives. Give the woman some cred.
I have 3 dogs and 2 cats but I still want more.

  65. jemshoes says:

    @ Eve and Kitten

Your posts about cats and bunnies being friends is more entertaining and heartwarming than anything about Paris! 😀

I miss the bunnies I had growing up.

  66. lucy2 says:

@Westcoaster – Yes and yes. A few years ago.
    @original kate – LOL!

HAHAHA – look at the poor dog’s face in the photo with the red pillows in the background. You can see the poor thing is thinking “No! I’m going to get herpes!”

Seriously I bet her house STINKS.

  67. Mistral says:

All of her animals are absolutely adorable. Hope she loves all of the little puppies/kittens when they grow up. Those bunnies are seriously cute—I hope she had all of them fixed.

My one question in all of this is:

    WHERE IS TINKERBELL??????

  68. Heather says:

She lets dogs die in the closet? That’s terrible. :O

  69. BRE says:

I understand she loves animals. I love animals too and have 3 dogs and 2 cats but there should be a limit to the amount you have in your home regardless of size. If she cares, she should purchase land outside the city and build a shelter for unwanted animals. But that would require doing something more in her life than partying, shopping and getting into trouble.

  70. Celebitchy says:

Ok, yes I remember that blind item that was clearly meant to point to Paris as the dog owner who left several of her many pooches to starve in a closet. (Link below) However, this is why they are “blind” items – they’re the worst kind of rumors because they don’t even name the targets and they’re often made up. Sometimes they turn out to be true, as I remember with a David Duchovny blind item from Star, but they’re so very sketchy and hard to verify at all as we can’t ever confirm who they’re talking about. That BI was from Ted Casablanca. It may have been true and about Paris but there’s absolutely no way of telling.

    http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/famecrawler/archive/2008/01/30/which-irresponsible-young-celebrity-is-a-dog-killer.aspx

  71. Basketca says:

    Brittney #57

    It is the food chain.

I agree that putting an animal that is still alive in a snake’s cage is cruel, but the snake has to be fed. You have to buy meat, and that meat comes from animals, so you have to kills animals to feed animals. I’m sorry, but that’s the ugly truth.

Also, if I’m not mistaken, Tinkerbell is with Paris’ mom. You all remember how Paris never let Tinkerbell walk, right? Cause it was cute to hold it like a baby. So eating + no exercising = fat Tinkerbell. And Paris doesn’t like fat chihuahuas. So mommy had to take care of Tinkerbell because Paris didn’t like the poor dog anymore.

Paris is like a 5 year old child. When I was that age, I loved ALL animals. Talking about dogs, I used to say that I wanted to have 10 different puppies because I couldn’t decide. I wanted: a Beagle, a Husky, a Labrador Retriever, etc. I also wanted a couple of kittens, rabbits, hamsters and a lion. But of course, when puppies grow up, they’re not cute anymore.

Paris is like me when I was a child: “I want that puppy. And that one. And that one.” And she has money, so she buys them (not adopt, at least not all of them). The difference is my mom new better than me and didn’t buy me any animal, cause I wouldn’t take care of it. Years later, by BFF’s little adorable puppy grew up. I didn’t like the dog anymore. And I understood why my mom didn’t buy me a dog. But Paris doesn’t learn. After all, she hasn’t have to take care of them…

  72. Messenger says:

I cannot fault her impulse. So many times I have seen animals in the windows of pet stores and in cages and longed to rescue them, but I have neither the means nor the space to do so. Not all people who love animals care for them properly so I am with the many posters here that hope she is properly caring for her menagerie. Those bunnies are so cute..I was just wishing for one and the closest I got was seeing a white tailed bunny on somebody’s lawn. I am not a fan but understand her desire to rescue something so cute from the jaws of death. Maybe she will find herself yet!

  73. Eve says:

    @Jemshoes:

Oh, thank you! It was so weird but so terribly cute to see he wanted to have little bunny friends.:)

Someday I plan to adopt a bunny for my cat. But I’ve rescued another cat (not from a shelter, I don’t have the guts to visit one, but from the streets where I found him starving) and he’s now a really healthy adult cat, but I’m not sure if he’ll feel the same way about a bunny (but I think he’d probably like it too).

  74. Tyler says:

Thanks, @Bubbles, for mentioning the House Rabbit Society http://www.rabbit.org !

  75. Jennifer says:

Hey, if the animals are being properly cared by either her or a staff of animal caretakers, all the more power to her!

Normally, it would have taken 20 people, most of which probably could barely afford it, to adopt all of those rabbits and save them from being snake food.

She, obviously, can afford it. Like I said, if they are being properly taken care of, I can’t complain about who it was that saved them!

  76. Anonymous says:

I hope she buys all the mice too then! And the animals that become dog & cat food!

  77. Faeriegirl says:

Okay, first of all, what is wrong with most of you? Snakes eat rats and yes, sometimes bunnies. The fact that she could have rescued some shelter bunnies that didn’t have a home, and chose to save them from being another animal’s food is ridiculous. To quote southpark: she is a stupid, spoiled whore. Ohhhhhh yeah what an animal lover! She has people taking care of them, and other animals eat other animals sometimes. I am sure she does? Dumb twat just needs the publicity. I do not think it is commendable what she did. It was not heroic, this is what happens. Other animals eat each other. What she did is not amazing. She could have adopted animals that were battered and beaten, but seeing is how she is beyond retarded, I am glad she doesn’t because she could not care properly for them. My point is what she did is not heroic and commendable, so stop feeding the machine.

I can hate on her for this, because the fact that she EVER had an ‘accidental’ litter is inexcusable. She acquires animals and then when the novelty wears off, she ignores them. She buys animals from stores that support puppy mill breeding. She didn’t “save” those rabbits. Not one of those bunnies would have been fed to a snake–only a huge boa/python would be eating food that size, and most snake owners stick to mice and rats due to the expense.

Posting pictures on Twitter of her interspersed rabbits doesn’t make her a good pet caretaker. Is she having proper enclosures made for that number of rabbits? Has she segragated them by sex and made plans to have the males neutered to ensure that she won’t wind up with 1,000 rabbits by winter? Does she really think that the pet store she got them from won’t just use her money to restock more rabbits? She’s an idiot, and often the most easily preventable neglect comes from this type of moron.

When rich people throw their money down the drain people are jealous and pissed off calling it “waste” with a hint toward Third World Countries or whatever. If they try to do something caring most people are still pissed and call it dumb or attention seeking.
It doesn’t matter which social action a famous person takes, somebody will always look for faults. People should look at themselves first before bit**ing.

I would think that someone of Paris’ celebrity status should have the brains to fix her animals and then publicize that. Think of how many unwanted animals they are out there and how it could be stopped if someone like her made it seem cool.

Please Paris do the right thing!!

  81. Siren6 says:

Weirdest PR stunt to offset the Las Vegas coke charge, ever.

  82. neema says:

Yeah, nice job Paris, only tens of millions of bunnies left to go.

Does anyone take her impulsive crap seriously?

  83. KLaw says:

African Grey parrots need tons of attention because they are so social and intelligent. There is no way that parrot is cared for appropriately, unless she hired a parrot expert to visit every day. Not only that, but the parrot is going to live for 50+ years!!

  84. aenflex says:

Say what you want about this bitch. I share her sentiment completely. She can’t save all the rabbits, but she can save 20.

  85. bunny wabba says:

pro-at least they won’t be eaten by snakes

con-they need to all be fixed or there offspring will eventually turn up in shelters being euthanized, sold on craigslist to morons who abuse them and mishandle them or any other number of irresponsible and awful things

i like paris hilton a touch more than i did before. didn’t say i love her! just like her a touch more.
