Lindsay Lohan forced to admit daily that she’s an addict at Betty Ford Clinic

lohan5

Even though I wouldn’t take back the past few weeks of little to no Lindsay Lohan news (because she’s in rehab), I am finding myself going through crack-shenanigan-withdrawal. Yes, the streets are safer, and yes, I’m sure more than a few dealers have gone out of business, but I just need a hit of Blohan news every so often, just because I’ve gotten used to it. So sue me, I’m addicted! My name is Kaiser and I’m addicted to Lindsay Lohan gossip. As it turns out, Lindsay is saying something similar right about now. Radar has a “behind the scenes” piece about what Lindsay’s life is like in rehab. Her day includes drinking endless cups of decaf, smoking cigarettes, admitting you’re a crackhead and long walks around a lake. Sounds… nice.

Inside the Betty Ford Center. Lindsay Lohan is taking the first real steps in her recovery by being forced to publicly say, “Hi. I’m Lindsay, and I am an alcoholic and addict”, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Every day Lindsay is forced to admit her demons, a former patient at the Rancho Mirage, California, hospital tells us.

“She must discuss her past drug usage, along with repeating the statement she denied for so many years,” the former patient told RadarOnline.com.

Lohan’s dormitory holds 22 women and she and the other patients have a roommate, the source said. Twenty years ago, Elizabeth Taylor shared a room with three other patients in Fisher Hall. The building underwent a complete remodeling, earlier this year.

With more freedom than she had in jail, Lohan starts her day off with a cup of decaf coffee and cigarettes. She can order an egg white omelet.

After breakfast, Lohan and other patients are assigned chores in the dorm, which is followed by a vigorous schedule of meetings and group therapy. After every activity there is a “process group” to follow, the source said.

The residents of each dorm sit in their living rooms, sharing and discussing what they just experienced, felt and thought.

Lohan and other patients are allowed to walk around the lake and write in journals. As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, at Lohan’s next court hearing October 22, her attorney is going to ask the judge to allow her to stay in the rehab facility.

[From Radar]

Yes, Lindsay is going to try to stay in rehab through her court appearance, in the hopes that she doesn’t get sent back to jail. Is this all some big crack plot? Probably. By the way, what is the Betty Ford Clinic’s reputation amongst rehab facilities? It has a better track record than Promises, right? But it’s not as good as those places in the desert where they dry you out amongst the dry heat. At least that’s what I hear. I think if I was an addict (not a gossip addict, a real addict), I would want to go to one of those places where they make you work. Like a working farm-rehab, one of those places. I would need something to keep my hands busy. I guess Lindsay doesn’t have that problem.

Can’t believe you need anything to keep you busy besides gossip, Kaiser, and there’s plenty o’ that in any rehab.

  2. whatever says:

The only reason why she agreed to this stint in rehab, is her “get out of jail” free card. Once the hearing has passed, and she feels she is “safe” again, she’ll be out of rehab and right back to partying.

  3. JC126 says:

If you (generic you) were an addict, you’d think up all kinds of excuses why you can’t go anywhere, but especially those working places. You’d promise to go to meetings instead, but never do it. These people have to be forced to do anything.
But, I could swear that I read Elizabeth Taylor write that at Betty Ford, she had to scrub toilets and so forth.

  4. chasingadalia says:

Hey, I win the “guess which rehab” pool!

  5. dvz says:

Actually, Betty Ford is considered only one step away from Hazelden, which is the most hardcore and successful rehab in the States.

  6. Marjalane says:

A couple of years back, one of my co-workers went to Betty Ford for a coke addiction, stayed six weeks, couldn’t wait to get out and get high, then ended up somewhere in Minnesota for another six weeks. She said Betty Ford was a joke compared to the 2nd, and 10X as spendy.

  7. dvz says:

@JC126, that is very true about Dame Elizabeth. She spoke about that a lot. She roomed with people from all walks of life. But your recovery is only as good as your will. Still BFC is one of the most successful and non plush rehabs in the states. I’ve been a proponent of BFC for LL, but now I’m thinking that a few months (NOT 30 days) stay at Hazelden in MN is the only thing that *might* work for her. They treat pathological disorders there and that is certainly what she has. Her addiction(s) is pretty much secondary at this point.

  8. Rita says:

Very nice pics of Lilo but I’m affraid those days are gone. Good for the Betty Ford. They’ll kick her ass but if she’s not in there for a good six months it will be a waste of time.

  9. serena says:

The thing with rehab (yes, folks I know of which I speak!) is that you do need to keep busy busy or the days go on forever. Also, the routine of cleaning (toilets or whatever) is to introduce you back into the real world rather than the cracked up (or drowning in wine in my case) world. The only thing that I found hard(and if I found it hard then Lindsay is going to find it a beeeeatch!) is that you are nice and safe in rehab_it’s when you get OUT that the real work starts!

  10. Agatha Cranky says:

FYI. Betty Ford clinic IS in the desert!

  11. Dani says:

Considering that my husband is in recovery, I really don’t like your wording. “Forced” and “Personal choice” are two different things. My husband wasn’t “forced” to get better. He made a “personal choice” that his life was going in the wrong direction and as a result recovery occured. Just because she says it doesn’t mean that she understands what it means.

  12. Eleonor says:

How much photoshop did they use to make Lilo look normal?

  13. mslewis says:

I’m really kind of sick of her. She’s like her own soap opera. All she really needs to to grow some brains, grow up and get the hell away from that pimp-enabler mother!!!

  14. Betty Ford is a stone’s throw away from where I live and work.Yes, we are in the desert here. But currently it is hot and muggy and rainy, so her walks around the lake better be between thunder storms, of which we are currently in the midst of.I don’t think she’ll have much sucess:It is an obvious ploy to reduce her jail sentence.

  15. George says:

But her mom insists that it is just because she is young. I guess on Long Island, where her mom dominates, young women can get obliterated on drugs, swig whiskey out of the bottle, give random blow jobs, ruin the lives of those around you, all the while drive and threaten the general masses, and it is just part of being a girl.

  16. Green Is Good says:

Yet another reason I didn’t renew my Vanity Fair suscription.

  17. TaylorB says:

I agree with others, she should be in Hazelden, for several months. And when she gets out she is going to have to change her life and her friends totally.

  18. poopie says:

It really doesn’t matter WHAT facility she is in, how tough their programs are, if she doesn’t admit to having a problem, NOTHING will take. a fam member of mine (now deceased from overdose) went thru numerous rehabs, lying all the while to powers that be, saying what they wanted to hear in order to be ‘freed’, then start the cycle all over again.

  19. Johan says:

WOW! Nice legs. Say what you want but this girl knows how to take care for her legs. Amazing photos!

  20. Praise St. Angie! says:

“And when she gets out she is going to have to change her life and her friends totally.”

that’s the biggest issue for her, I think. whenever she DOES get out of rehab, she always seems to go back to her same old haunts, which can’t be healthy.

but the MAIN person she needs to distance herself from is her enabling leech of a “mother”.

  21. hellen says:

Lindz is at The Betty! I guessed right too. Wonder if it’s going to have any lasting effect on her…

  22. Taurus says:

People need to let her be while she tries to get herself together. Addiction is no laughing matter and her recovery ups and downs are no ones business! Her treatment should be confidential and splattered all over the web. What are people gaining by knowing what her daily schedule consist of?! Have some fking respect!

    MJ FOR HGF

  23. Maghreid says:

Hazelden trumps BFC for pathological subsatnce abusers. Saved my life. I was there 18 months and have been clean for 10 years no slips. Cause I never want to go back. BFC was rehab #4, Hazelden #5. I wish Lindsay luck but if she continues to get “resort” rehab she”ll never change.

  24. Innocent says:

I don’t get how forcing someone to admit their problems everyday is helping them.
Dina basically admitted on the view that Lindsay is only staying there until around the hearing[October 22nd] and her 30 days end on the 28th of October.
So she is hoping she can complete the 30 days and the Judge doesn’t put her in jail.

  25. redlips says:

This is such BS! As a licensed drug/alcohol counselor, who works with every walk of life, I have to say that NO one is made to say anything. Especially whether they are an addict or alcoholic. It just isn’t done……It isn’t even part of the 12 Step program. Admitting you are “powerless” over drugs or alcohol is however, forcing someone to own up to it is strictly out of the question.

  26. skeptical says:

I’d be happier about this if it wasn’t timed so suspiciously. it really does look like she’s just trying to get on the judge’s good side and on producers’ good sides.
Didn’t the Vanity Fair (and lindsay does seem vain, so it fits heh heh) article these pics come from actually have lindsay using her SCRAM to prove her innocence or something because she was claiming she didn’t have huge withdrawals?

Revel had it right.. lindsay doesn’t think it’s cheating unless she gets caught. so here she is.. trying to cheat the system again.. and if it works she won’t consider it cheating. it just means she “won”.

  27. Innocent says:

    @skeptical
Don’t you think Revel was waaay too involved in this case that she had since 09.

If she is going to go back to 07 when Lindsay lied about being sober then what about the fact that in July she hadn’t failed any drug tests since then.
The formal probation wasn’t put place in 07 and shouldn’t have been put in place in July when the D.A wasn’t even asking for it because a 3rd DUI is an automatic 120 days in jail and there is more dangerous people to monitor.
No one delays their vacation by a day for one individual case.

I think she is trying to beat the system and trying to appease the Judge that placed her on a no bail hold.
Rehab was the only way to ensure that she wouldn’t get into any more trouble until the sentencing.

  28. gg says:

She ALWAYS goes into rehab when she gets near being thrown into jail again.

  29. Trashaddict says:

Totally unrelated but that’s a good hairstyle for her. Makes her look smart but not too old. She should keep it.
