Nick Hogan wants out of solitary confinement

It really is hard out there for a Hogan. I mean I used to feel a little badly for poor Nick Hogan – what with the nearly taking someone’s life and then getting punished for it with 8 months in jail – but now I feel super badly for him. Nick has to spend the bulk of his day in solitary confinement because he’s a minor in an adult, maximum security facility. And I’m guessing he’s more than a little bit of a target in there as well. But Nick doesn’t like it, and wants out. And what Nick wants, Nick should get, right?

Lawyers for Hulk Hogan’s son, Nick Bollea, filed a motion earlier today requesting that the 17-year-old be released from solitary confinement and placed into a program that would give him the same treatment as anyone else with the same sentence.

According to the motion, filed in Florida’s Pinellas County Court, Nick, who was convicted to an 8-month sentence after pleading no contest to charges stemming from his August 2007 auto accident, is wrongfully being held in solitary confinement for up to 17 hours a day.

“Nick’s current confinement in maximum security was not appropriate based on their evaluation of Nick, the circumstances of his offense, and Nick’s lack of any prior criminal record,” his lawyer’s claim.

“Treating a minor in this manner is simply unwarranted,” says Morris “Sandy” Weinberg of the Tampa office of Zuckerman, Spaeder. “We are only asking the court to make available to Nick what anyone else in his situation would have available to them, and also to respect the Bollea family’s privacy.”

While I have a policy of never feeling any empathy to Nick Hogan, even I have to admit that placement in a maximum security facility for a minor without a record seems pretty extreme. But I’m all for the judge not showing Nick any special treatment. Obviously jail isn’t fun. In fact it’s supposed to suck as much as possible. Sounds like it does. Maybe it really will work as some sort of deterrent for Nick next time he wants to drag race and slam into a palm tree.

you forgot…next time he wants to drag race after drinking the beer his daddy bought his 17 year old ass.
I thought he was in a solitary type situation for his safety. fine let him out into the general population.
Just in case anyone forgot what this kid did and how lucky he is to only be in jail…

  4. In that picture, that does not look like a minor. These celeb kids are raised to think they can get away with anything. Even C-listers.

  5. uh…. do the letters TS mean anything in this situation? If he got released into Gen-Pop he’d be dogmeat.

    Looks like he’s 40.

  6. Persistent Cat:

He’s only 17?!?! Why did I think he was older? Although to be honest, I rarely give him any thought. But 17??? Shouldn’t he be in school?

I don’t think a kid should be set out in an adult prison, regardless of what they did.

  7. That’s exactly what I thought!! When I first saw the pic, I thought, “Wow, he’s pretty grizzled for a guy in his mid to late twenties.”

    But he’s a teenager! :?: :?: :?: :?:

  8. No sense of responsibility at all. He may look like a man in the pic, but he’s a big pussy! Man UP!

  9. Of course he won’t take responsibility. The sense of entitlement this family displays is sickening. They need to go away.

  11. Ew. That is my official opinion…lol

Seriously, why hasn’t Hulk Hogan had to go to trial for giving alcohol to a minor and then said minor practically killed another. They should both be in jail.

  13. Prison sucks. Um, maybe at the same time they can release Graziano from his own confinement too?

  14. I wish they would release him into the general population. He has basically killed a young hero whom survived Iraq, but could not survive Nick’s drunken, stupid ass. I hope he gets the shit beat out of him for what he has done.

  15. You do the crime, you do the time! Just because his father is Hulk Hogan would they even consider it. Its not fair. He needs to be treated like a normal citizen.

  16. Has anyone heard the prison phone call tapes? If you think you hate the Hogans now, you will really be disgusted when you hear them!!
In one of them Hulk tells Nick that he doesn’t know what kind of person John was since God has given him such “shit”. Nick says it’s because John was a negative person.

Apparantly the dumb-ass Hogans think that John is pretty much a vegtable because God wanted to punish him for being negative—it has nothing to do with douchy Nick driving like an ass!!

This family has ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY!!!!!! I don’t usually wish harm on others, but I would not mind if a meteor took them all out!!!

And cc has a great point–isn’t it a crime to give alcohol to a minor–esp since it contributed to such a horrible accident?

  17. Oh, they should let him out indeed. Poor little Nick would learn so many valuable lessons in life… Such as, never bend over when someone asks you to pick up the soap! I really hope they have silk pillows in jail. Nick will need them at all times

Now, seriously, I find it difficult to believe that someone who is responsible for another human being’s utter and complete physical, mental and spiritual destruction (I doubt that being in vegetative state is anything other than a terribly slow, painful agony; especially if John Graziano does have some degree of awareness about what’s happening to him) would be so selfish and shamelessly unrepentant. He is behaving as if he had been punished like this for stealing a fistful of sweets in a candy store, and the world ought to feel sorry for him.

Maybe suffering in an adult environment would sensitize Nick and show him that life isn’t a constant party.

  18. Flatbellydance:

No, he should have to stay in solitary - not get released. He wants to be in gen pop because it’s too much torture to be alone with his thoughts - he obviously wants to have something else to distract him from his time and his crime.

I say bullsh*t. Make him sit there, all alone, all day long, and maybe - just maybe - he’ll finally start thinking about what he did. If not, at least he will have to feel every single second of his sentence.
