This kills me, and ordinarily, I’m not one of those people bemoaning celebrity excess in a time of financial crisis. I generally employ a “live and let live” and a “it’s their money, they earned it” philosophy about there things. But to be fair, this isn’t a story about a celebrity spending a ton of money on crap. This is about Victoria’s Secret and their corporate decision to do yet another diamond-encrusted bra. I believe Vicky’s does this every year – make some ridiculously expensive bra, put it on one of their boob-tastic models, and have her pose for lots of photos that are beamed around the world, for promotion. It’s smart, I guess. Because instead of paying for print ads or commercials, they’re guaranteeing “free” press in magazines, blogs and entertainment shows, all of which adds up to more than the bra cost.
That being said, it still reeks of Marie Antoinette. It’s made from 3,000 white diamonds, plus sapphires and topaz, and it took 1,000 hours to make. For a bra. In this economy. It’s just… excessive.
Now, it is a totally cute push-bra. And Adriana Lima looks totally cute in it. Do you have $2 million to spend on a bra? If you do, it’s yours for the taking.
I don’t believe these stories. Something is worth what someone will pay for it and nobody is going to pay that for a bra. Hell, it’s probably made from cubic zircons. If it is made of real jewels, it’s taken apart after the publicity shock.
However, that bra is holding up a $2 mil rack.
Would look better if her implants weren’t so freakin’ obvious. That last pic looks like you could pop them like a water balloon.

that bra is ugly. i’ve never understood why VS doesn’t get called out for being tacky more often, like fredrick’s of hollywood. maybe because of the gorgeous models and marketing they use? either way, their pr people deserve a lot of credit. LOL
I don’t care if the bra is worth billions, the outfit still sucks. I have always thought that this woman is incredibly gorgeous though.

Am I the only one who doesn’t see what’s so special about her when she has clothes on? Yeah, she has a rockin bod, but when it’s covered up, I don’t think she looks any prettier than the average woman. Other than the fact that she’s wearing a $3,000 bra.
a) if she’s that rich, why can’t she afford a bodice for that dress? b) is the bra’s so luxurious, why didn’t they stitch a bit of fracking ribbon over the ugly flesh-colored underwires? c) i’ve just noticed the guy in white-tie behind her. oh honey. not before seven in the evening, ever.
It could be implants. Or it could be a PUSH UP BRA. Speaking of which, that’s what bugs me about the website awful plastic surgery. Sometimes they hit the nail on the head (usually when things are beyond obvious), but sometimes they post a picture of a celebrity with the headline: So-and-so got new implants, and it’s pretty obvious she’s wearing a really good bra. I have a couple of push ups myself, from Victorias Secret no less, that make my boobs look fake and bulbous, but I think that’s kind of the point.
Point of my comment is, she had a baby not too long ago, so naturally the boobs are going to be a bit bigger. On top of which, she’s wearing a push up bra, which can make a decent sized chest look fake very, very easily. Is this really a question?
My issue is the dress/coat thing she’s wearing. For some reason it looks unfinished, or at least really poorly sewn. Couldn’t they have picked a better outfit?

I am quite flat chested and a good push up bra can make my chest look a cup bigger (with the padding). I know that her dress is like the way it is to show off the bra, but there just something inappropriate about it.
I’ve always thought she looked like a Munchkin, but she has very pretty eyes. The boobs look silly on her tiny frame. I like my curves balanced.
Outfit looks cheap; bra looks cheap. The whole stupid pr stunt is cheap. And I’ve always thought the diamond bra at Christmas from VS was stupid, even before the economy tanked. Now it is stupid & insensitive.

I agree with the ugly outfit comments as well as the less than impressive look of the bra. I also do not find her remotely attractive. She looks like a chipmunk! I do find Alessdra Ambrosio (or whatever her name is) and Bar Rafeli to be gorgeous.

Lima, the VS model, does have implants. One of my friends was obsessed with her and had collected all of her modeling pictures, even the ones from when she was still a teenager. The girl had maybe A cups when she first started out.
My only problem is… where are the matching panties?
When Adriana first started in V Secret she was very small chested, couple months later and boom! So she had her implants done a few years ago. At least she’s laid off the lip filler, her lips look better their normal size.
She definitely has implants – you can see the startling change in her modelling photos from flat chested to a big cup size. Having said that, when she first got them done they looked fantastic! Hers and Giselle’s were the best in the business. But now she’s lost some weight (post-baby), and they look really fake 🙁
