Re: the John Landis article – I boycott his movies the same as Polanski. He knew he was violating child labor laws, hiring them without permit, forcing the children to work beyond the legal curfew; they were filimg after 2:00 in the morning. Explosions everywhere. He was warned not to use the children in the the shot, and responded “the hell with you.” So Landis insisted on having the two children, explosions, and a helicopter be filmed together at 2:20 in the morning . . . resulting in one child being crushed to death by the helicopter, and the other child and Vic Morrow being decapitated. He even had the balls to show up at Morrow’s funeral uninvited, and make a speech offending Morrow’s family. I don’t know why this guy never got prison time (actually I do know – being part of the entertainment industry puts stars in people’s eyes, including jurors). But I refuse to watch any of this asshole’s movies. So Nolan hasn’t made anything original since “Memento”? Well at least he didn’t kill two children and decapitate an actor.

If you have a problem with bigotry – please remove the Tony Romo link which says at the bottom:
“If you’re like me and find happiness in watching a stadium full of Mexicans choke on their Goya beans and dreams, you can watch the video here.”
    That is racist and disgusting

  3. Relli says:

Whoa Benny i had no idea, i just had to look that up, incredibly sad and yes this man has no room to talk. Thanks bhardt i was about to click there and that would have sent me through the roof.

  4. a says:

i remember when jon stewart was a VJ on MTV.

we tape the daily show to help decompress after all of the crappy news day — thank god for satire and jon stewart!

  5. Mairead says:

    What Benny said.
    http://www.findadeath.com/Deceased/m/Vic%20Morrow/vic_morrow.htm for more info

    but be warned, it’s gruesome.

And seriously, can we get a bit of Jon Stewart goodness in a HGF?

  6. NayNay says:

Call me a weirdo, but I find him to be so sexy.

  7. Sophie says:

    yay JStew!

NayNay, me too! I think it’s the combination of intelligence and humour (and the fact that he’s just so darn cute!)

  8. Lin99 says:

JStew is super sexy, I have loved him since the late 80’s….wow I’ve dated myself

  9. buell says:

Jon Stewart does influence me… to turn the channel whenever his show comes on….

  10. The Bobster says:

Influential? A bad comedian reading fake news?

  11. PallasJay says:

I just about died when I saw weiner jail. I don’t know what I was expecting, but that wasn’t it.

  12. Anti-icon says:

Sounds good to me; the most influential man is FINALLY the most intelligent also. Have we hit a worm hole or something. Celebrity so rarely actually makes sense. LOL

  13. Megan says:

Yikes! When people are influenced by someone doing joke news (with a strong personal political agenda interjected) then we’re in trouble.

  14. snapnhiss says:

Megan said: “Yikes! When people are influenced by someone doing joke news (with a strong personal political agenda interjected) then we’re in trouble.”

    Yet Fox News continues…

  15. Trillion says:

Disagree with above poster. Comedians have always been the among the most insightful and in many ways representational figures of society. They have the freedom to say what they want since they are not constantly worried about straddling fences or knowing which side of the fence to stay on. Like politicians and pundits. Even if you don’t like what Stewart has to say, he’s undoubtedly very intelligent and not afraid to skewer politicians from both sides of the aisle. Well, actually, he’s a bit too easy on them a lot of the time, IMO. During Hitler’s era, it was ONLY the comedians who could get away with speaking about the current social climate in public by cloaking commentary in humor. (ref. Defying Hitler by S. Junger) Long live the comedians. We desperately need them.

  16. Brittney says:

Thank you, fellow commenters, for the John Landis info & links. I never heard about this senseless tragedy, and I will certainly never watch another movie of his again.

  17. Sandy says:

Kanye West is also on that list. And anyone who would feed that ignorant arrogant ego is a waste of space.

  18. Diva says:

Stewart’s news isn’t “fake”… it’s what’s really going just with a comic twist and from a view you’re not going to see on other news shows.

Weiner jail… LOL, AMAZING! Imagine the tan lines! {=0)

  19. lisa says:

    I actually like Stewart

But some of the others on that list.. WTF are these people drinking, smoking or enhaling.. seriously. Some of these fools are on their last 15 minutes.. I for one wish I had the power to make time go a bit faster..

    UGH..

  20. Jello says:

I love Jon Stewart and would happily be his second wife.

  21. Erin says:

Put Jon on Hot Guy Fridays!

  22. environ says:

Jon Stewart is the least bias guy out there, anyone who says differently is watching too much FAUX News.

    Yay for him!

  23. redlips says:

John Stewart is a legend in his OWN mind! Pfffttt!

  24. sickofit says:

Yes JS for Hot Guy Friday, in a nice suit, i just love his smile…

  25. Roxanne75 says:

    @The Bobster – perfect comment.

I must be leaving under a rock cuz I don’t get it.

  26. Chris says:

WTF? I had a look at the list. It should’ve been called The Most Influential People In The Media, because the people who really influence the world, and I’m talking about the puppet masters who dictate the agenda to the American Government, didn’t even get a mention.

  27. Pirouette says:

Yup. John Stewart and his writing staff are geniuses. He probably has a stronger grasp of the news and its multiple angles than “serious” newscasters. You have to know it to tear it apart so effectively.
