People are still buzzing about yesterday’s revelation – by TMZ – that Rachel Weisz had dumped her partner of nine years, Darren Aronofsky, for a possible fling with Daniel Craig. According to TMZ’s sources, Rachel and Daniel’s affair began months ago while they were working together on Dream House. LaineyGossip’s sources say that since then, Daniel has been in Sweden filming The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and that Rachel hasn’t been around him during that production. BUT – there is also no word on whether Satsuki Mitchell has been in Sweden with Daniel either.
While everyone catches their breath and tries to get a source – ANY SOURCE – to verify TMZ’s report, The Daily Mail has stepped up to the plate:
There aren’t many women who can resist the magnetic charm of James Bond. And it seems Rachel Weisz may be the latest to fall under the spell.
The British actress is said to be smitten with Daniel Craig, who has played 007 in the latest two films, after splitting with her long-term partner, director Darren Aronofsky.
Miss Weisz, 40, is believed to have grown close to Craig while they played husband and wife in forthcoming thriller Dream House.
Last night, a source said the actress was ‘head over heels’ for Craig, 42, who is engaged to producer Satsuki Mitchell.
A close source said: ‘Rachel and Daniel simply sparked during the filming of Dream House in Canada. They have great chemistry. Darren’s such a good and responsible man, but Daniel’s the opposite extreme, he’s brooding and mysterious. Darren and Rachel have simply grown apart, they spent long periods away from each other, moving in different directions.’
Miss Weisz and Mr Aronofsky, 41, have been together for nine years and have a four-year-old son called Henry.
Yesterday, the strain was evident as London-born Miss Weisz left her five-storey townhouse in Manhattan’s fashionable East Village. When asked about Craig, the actress smiled tersely and refused to comment.

Well, that’s something. An unnamed source who makes it sound like Rachel is completely in love with Daniel, and that she wanted a little mystery (and hot Daniel dong) in her life. It’s also interesting that Rachel “smiled tersely and refused to comment”. Now, if Rachel and Daniel were famewhores (LIKE RACHEL BILSON – haha) they would have denied this stuff to People Magazine already. Daniel doesn’t ever say anything about his personal life, ever. He would never issue a statement to People. But Rachel would, I think, if the report were totally off the mark. So the fact that she isn’t saying anything to People or anyone else makes me think that there’s something there.
Of course, I just enjoy these stories because I like picturing Daniel’s O-face. It’s magical, in my mind at least.

Hmmm even if the affair isn’t true, rachel weisz’s split doesn’t surprise me. To be engaged that long and have a kid and still not be able to nake it down the aisle indicates their probably were some issues for awhile.

While Rachel Weisz is breathtakingly beautiful, I really hope she was wise and didn’t expect Daniel Craig to leave his partner as well. I noticed that wasn’t mentioned, so perhaps the affair is over and they have both moved away from the situation. Daniel and Rachel would make a smoking-hot couple, though it sad to see her not be honest to her husband and have an affair.

But what about Satsuki Mitchell?? Where is she in all of this? Also,if I’m not mistaken, Darren Aronskfy is well-liked in Hollywood which might not bode well for Mr. Craig’s acting future. (Unless, of course, Craig’s movies make tens of millions, in which case, nobody cares whose woman he bangs.)
Or, could this all be just a setup to get some PR for the movie the two made together????

Never cared for her either. I can’t stand her in movies and she always plays a character I don’t like so that might be part of it, but she has always had a harsh look to her face so I don’t find her attractive.

Unfortunate if true. I like all involved in this story, but if they did have an affair, that’s a real shame because she has a son with Darren, plus now there are two ruined long term relationships. Rachel and Darren Aronofsky were never married. So nobody broke up a marriage, as others are saying. Rachel left her boyfriend not her husband. That’s a big difference. In my mind at least. And Daniel and Satsuki were not married as well. These were just two people who grew apart from their SO.

For all we know, all parties involved might have been single and broken up for a while. Not everything gets announced. And even if they weren’t, I agree, something had to have been brewing for her to dump a 9 year relationship. And – they weren’t married – what reason is there not to get married when obviously it’s not for reasons of one party being unable to finalize a divorce; reasons of needing state health insurance, or some weird reason. I do give a pass to people who went through hideous divorces before and are terrified to tie the knot again.
Oh one other insane thing – I noticed Darren A. has the same birthday as an ex of mine. He might be a total nightmare in private like the ex was, we’ll never know. Lol.

How old is she? I too would have thought she was in her middle-thirties. Call me naive, I guess. If they’ve cheated, then shame on them. There’s a kid involved.
