Late Tuesday, some sketchiness started happening. E! News and TMZ both began climbing up Eva Longoria and Tony Parker’s asses. E! News’s Marc Malkin claimed that Eva had withdrawn from one of her completely boring and incessant photo-ops, this time at a CNN event, and Malkin laid on the insinuation about Eva and Tony’s relationship troubled. Then TMZ ran a story about Tony filing for divorce – in Texas. Their sources were two clerks at the Bexar County Courthouse, who claimed that the divorce petition was filed and sealed by a judge. However – TMZ then retracted their story, and E! News ran an update – apparently, NOTHING is happening between Eva and Tony, divorce-wise. However, the whole thing does feel rather sketchy, doesn’t it? LaineyGossip thinks so:
TMZ broke the story earlier today that Tony Parker filed for divorce from Eva Longoria. But her publicist is telling CNN and etalk that this is false. Then I went to refresh TMZ’s page and it was replaced by this article. They say they were originally told by two clerks at a courthouse in Texas that Tony filed and that the documents were sealed by a judge. But now another clerk has come forward to shoot down the two original ones, insisting that no papers were processed, that Tony Parker did not initiative divorce proceedings. In combination with Eva’s rep’s insistence that nothing happened, TMZ has no choice but to retract the story.
So…is this simply a case of a bad source? Or is something else afoot?
TMZ rarely messes up this spectacularly. I mean, sure, everyone gets a sh-tty tip now and again but…
Two hours before TMZ’s original story broke, E! reported that there was some smutty tingling going on in the marriage. Eva was apparently about to pull out of an event. Her people weren’t talking. Some people were whispering. Her team was being particularly cagey. This was followed by the divorce alarm and quick cancellation. Do you buy it? That everything is ok?
It feels strange how this all unfolded. Not sitting well at all. Like it was a communication breakdown. Like one side wasn’t following the other’s orders. Like they were still nailing down a press plan and someone didn’t get the update. Will keep you posted but I wouldn’t brush it off just yet.

Eva’s rep is the one doing all of the damage control – her rep is the one forcing retractions, and pushing the “everything’s fine” story. Now, I don’t even know if Tony has a “rep” – I would guess that he has a manager and a lawyer, at the very least. So why is Team Tony quiet? I agree with Lainey, there is something fishy.
Of course, I have another theory too – maybe they’re totally fine and they just wanted to create a bit of drama so people would pay attention to them, because at this point, Eva can’t pay blogs to put photos of her up. She’s like Rachel Bilson – there are new photos of her every day at our photo agencies, and I and everybody else just skips over that sh-t, because… who cares about Eva Longoria (or Bilson) at this point? What is it, 2004? Could this all just be a famewhore move?
UPDATE: Oh, shiz. People Magazine is calling Eva and Tony out – People’s report says:
Eva Longoria shot down a report that Tony Parker filed for divorce in Texas, but that doesn’t appear to be the end of the marriage drama. A source tells PEOPLE that the Desperate Housewives star plans to file divorce papers of her own as early as Wednesday.
Longoria was “totally and completely blindsided” by reports appearing this week of infidelity by her NBA star husband, the source says.

Okay, now it just sounds like an immature pissing contest between Eva and Tony as to which one of them gets to file first. Sigh…

People magazine is saying that Eva is planning to file divorce papers as early as today because her better half (Tony Parker) has been cheating on her. What did she think anyway? She married an athelete and we all know those men have horrible track records when it comes to fidelity. Also he’s much younger than her. I think if they do divorce it was inevitable. Sorry Eva.

Love it! She was SO obnoxious when they got married, you would think they were the only 2 people on planet earth to fall in love and So in your face about their relationship I couldn’t wait for this moment. 3 years later and its FINALLY here. I should have noticed, in the last few months she has been suspiciously quiet about her “amazing” husband and relationship. I thought maybe they were just settling down into normal married life but no… divorce. he he he.

Ok, if he is the one who cheated then why is he filing for divorce first. I don’t think it is that simple but I’m sure that is how her people (and Ken Paves) are going to paint it in the press. I personally think it was just a publicity marriage to begin with and now it is over but she wanted to have complete control over how it ended and how it was reported.

You know its high noon in every celebrity divorce when each tries to clear leather first with the he/she cheated quick draw (as if any of us cares enough to summon the cavalry to one’s defense).
Sorry about the western metaphor but hubby made me watch an John Wayne movie last night. I’m just thankful Heidi and Spence renewed their vows without a lot of fanfare.

I always thought this was one of those “faux” marriages to begin with. They were “so in love” publicity never ended……..
so, I believe a divorce is probably on the horizon. And that someone has some pull at the Bexar County Courthouse.
(where, incidentally, I made my marriage vows to a huge mistake that lasted for 17 years. So, if you’re not in love, get divorced early and enjoy your single life. I have/am/did/done.

just have to say i took a bit of offense to the just because he’s french, he cheated… my husband is french and yes french people cheat, spanish people cheat, chinese people cheat etc etc but if we go back and look at the stories in the tabs…seems like the american men do a fine enough job cheating…so let’s try and leave out nationalities and just stick to the fact that people cheat…men and women, regardless of where they are from..thx

All these guys cheat. It’s just a matter of time before the scandals surface. So sad, one day I would love to see one of these Hollywood marriages make it. I think it should be expected if you marry a celebrity that they will be boning someone else sometime soon.

I think Kaiser was just saying the french are amorous. I’m sure she wasn’t trying to say french men cheat more than any other group of people. Hell, specially if you add tiger to that mix. He has like…what, 5 or 6 different nationalities?
