I generally find John Mayer to be pretty funny, even though I don’t care for his music that much. His blogs are often humorous. Every so often he’ll bitch about the media, and say he doesn’t understand why they’re portraying him as a “cad.” And he can really yak on about it. He claims he hasn’t been with that many women, and once even said his number was average or even a little low for a guy. Then today he admits he’s hooked up with some of his female fans. So what exactly is it that you don’t get John.
John Mayer may be begging for mercy from gal-pal Jennifer Aniston after revealing at an event on Tuesday that he’s gotten more-than-friendly with his fans.
“I might’ve hooked up with people, but as soon as I hooked up with them they weren’t fans anymore, so technically no,” he said during Z100’s Z Lounge With John Mayer held at NYC’s Spotlight Live. “Do you respect me for my honesty? The answer is: Yes I have. Not in a really long time. Not since the cameraphone. That cameraphone will get you, even if you’re sleeping. Your doughy frame all laying in a bed dead-like. I can’t deal with that. I’m not trusting enough to open up to anyone I don’t know very well anymore, which is good for my immune system.”

Well at least he made it funny. But seriously, what is there not to understand? You date a bazillion different celebrities for about 1-3 months each. You admittedly hook up with fans. That’s why you have the reputation you have. It’s too bad that it overshadows John’s sense of humor. He’s not the funniest guy in the world or anything, but he’s reasonably witty and self-deprecating, something you don’t see from a lot of celebs. But if he wants some respect for his personal life, he’s either got to change his behavior or at least be more discreet about it.

Erm… find me some young male ’stars’ that didn’t do this.. If you’re young and horny and suddenly women line up to sleep with you, I find it hardly surprising that he went for it.
If he was known to treat these people bad, cheat on them or be a total asshole about no longer seeing them, that would be something else..

You know, I just don’t see that his behavior is so awful. Is there something wrong with a young healthy male wanting to date various women? Do you have to always be in a committed relationship, or is it acceptable to date several different people for short or longer periods, or even **gasp** simultaneously? I have often been in situations where I was dating several men at the same time. No commitments anywhere, just fun with whoever called first. I didn’t think of this as douchebag behavior, I thought of it as having a good time with several different people. Was that wrong?

I think that it is great that he was honest. Most hollywood famous guys have done this but never admit to it. He is honest and states is hasn’t done it in a long time. Look at George Clooney who has had more woman than him - but yet he would never say something like this because he wants people to think that every relationship he is in is important when they are really just hook-ups like John used to have. Just wait jennifer has tamed him just like she did Brad.

I don’t understand how this is news! Or maybe the fact that John Mayer was honest about hooking up with groupies. Come on, athletes, singers, movie stars - they all are a part of this.
Crap even the aging Rock Stars can still get all kinds of groups - all you have to do is tune into Rock of Love - even worse Flavor of Love. Take a look at the Hip Hop scene - this is just not news that someone famous can get laid by a groupie and I don’t understand what the big deal is.

I used to like John Mayer until he started to slowly, but surely, reveal the person behind the music. For someone who claims to be such an intellectual, its obvious he lacks common sense if he really doesn’t seem to get why he gets such negative criticism from most online bloggers and media outlets. John Mayer really should stop obsessing about getting respect for his public persona and concentrate on keeping people’s respect for his music which is fading.

Actually before Jen Brad had 3 times as many ladies as John and “hooked up” all over the place. Once with Jen - she really changed him. He settled down. He badly wanted children with her even cried about it on TV but she didn’t want them with him! He was so desperate it was hard to watch - he was so into her. When she wouldn’t he took the first woman who would have all his babies so quickly. Jen ain’t desperate there have been many men but she has thrown them to curb. Good for her or she woul be in hospital now with 6 children and Brad off and not evening caring enough to spend his days with her at the hospital.

Brad is at the hospital every day with Angie, often spending the nite with her according to French news. Brad brings the kids to see their mom in shifts and the two boys have stayed overnite several times with their mom and dad, that’s why they have a 4 room suite. I don’t know where you are getting your erroneous info from. The pix of Brad with Bono and De Niro were taken in the afternoon, and afterwards Brad and the boys went to the hospital and they stayed overnite with Angie. Brad was always a one woman monogamous man, this fact is well known, jen was his rebound after GP was unfaithful and he broke off their engagement and did not date for a year. Unlike jen Angie loves Brad and wanted his kids as much as he did. -

He was a player and “hooked up” alot but would never admit because he is perfect don’t you know? And no he is not monogamous. Your little Braddy was doing the dirty with Angie while still married and everyone on set knew it. And if he wasn’t then he must have been on the rebound from Jennifer once she asked for a divorce. Either he was having an affair and wanted rid of Jennifer or he was so upset that she asked for a divorce that he was on the rebound with Angie and desperate to find someone who would get pregnant at his say so. Can’t have it both ways. And if he was so upset about Gwen he most be sick now. Two kids and she looks incredible and is so private about her life while Angie talks about their tub time. What a mess.

Hey Ya,I was actually at the Brixton Academy Gig & it was great. John did a version of ‘Crying for Mercy’ by Duff which was a bit BB King-esque.After that song all I needed was a smoke.It was mind blowing! I am so surprised by all this hate about John & hate in general. He sounds like a normal young man. You cant possibily compare him to Jagger…he stole girl friends from Eric Clapton, Micheal Caine, Brain Ferry & tonnes of others back in the day. He also had the Stone groupies sooo…u just cant compare & it surprises me that he is still alive today & why intelligent women fall for him like Bianca Jagger & L’wren???
Brad was/is stupid & I am very sure he will eventually confess this when he is 70 or something. He got suckered by the old trick in the book. Its so sad & his acting is getting bad too. He has done nothing compelling in years.
Angie… i dont know what to say but she aint no saint & by copying Mia Farrow does not make you special. She is clearly into sex & thinks that by having an aura that Mia Farrow has especially with the adopting numerous kids & fighting causes will erase her behaviour of the wife stealing, bad acting(please take acting lessons from Glen Close,Diana Keating or someone), & drug abuse.Well it would not.
