Where is Sarah Jessica Parker’s mole?

Last night at the MLB All-Star Game at Yankees Stadium, New Yorker Sarah Jessica Parker joined Sheryl Crow on the field to spread the word about a new alliance between baseball and Hollywood to fund cancer research. The charity sounds great, but all anyone could talk about was the conspicuous absence of Parker’s trademark chin mole.

Sarah Jessica Parker attended Tuesday night’s All-Star game, and hit the field beforehand for an announcement about cancer research. Parker has long had a trademark mole on her chin, which has been visible throughout her career.

But at the game, as seen in an unairbrushed AP photo, no mole. At least one of the remarkably cruel reviews of “Sex and the City: The Movie” commented on her beauty mark. The New York Observer’s Rex Reed began his review with the following:

There’s nothing wrong with Sarah Jessica Parker that couldn’t be cured by wart-removal surgery. That growth on her face just gets bigger with every close-up, and in the full-length movie version of Sex and the City it’s so distracting you can’t concentrate on anything else. It’s not a beauty mark. I guess you can’t tell a co-producer anything, but listen up, girl. At this point, you would make a wonderful Halloween witch.

No word – if indeed she has had the mole removed, if it was for medical of cosmetic reasons.

[From Huffington Post]

As a melanoma survivor, I can tell you that facial moles like the one Sarah had are at greater risk to become cancerous over the years, due to the fact that your face gets so much sun exposure. Many dermatologists suggest having them removed before they get to that point. Perhaps her reason for having the mole removed wasn’t cosmetic. But if so, it’s her business, isn’t it? I actually think she looks much better without it. But that doesn’t mean I think it’s okay for people like Rex Reed, who is a grade-A jerkoff, to bash her over it, either.

  1. Some people said she looked like a witch because of her long nose and long, pointy chin.

O my, Cindy, aren’t you the same who said about Mini-me’s video-sex-partner (whatever her name is) how beautiful she is? And about Liv Tyler “what a horseface”? Yeah well, so much for your beauty perception.
(And if you are not that person than my deepest apologies)

Yeah, having a mole removed for either medical or cosmetic reasons doesn’t even make the top ten of the insane things some of these actors do to themselves.

And as for that Rex Reed character – well, I saw SATC, and I didn’t find SJP’s mole as distracting as the funky, grating plot.

I think she’s adorable, mole or no… but she does look better/cuter without it.

Thank god! That thing looked too much like a booger. Ewan MacGregor had his forehead mole removed as well.

Rex Reed is an idiot. His misogynist rant about Isabella Rossellini not shaving under her arms years ago cinched it. Why he still get’s any play is beyond me.

Thank God! It never looked like a mole….looked more like a wart. It was distracting to say the least. It was no beauty mark that is for sure.

It’s odd… she’s paraded her naturalness around for so many years, why pick the now to remove it? I’d believe medical, although considering the fact that her speech was on cancer research it would seem natural that she’d mention it. My best bet is for a movie role. Or, makeup. You can still see an impression in one of the header pics, but whether that’s moley wearing a coverup suit or a removal scar I simply cannot tell.

Wow good memory Lara.. and you are dead on in accuracy.. she did say those things I remember too:)

I think SJP is cool, I like her. And she is pretty. I think it’s terrible how bashed she was re: her looks. It was cruel and unnecessary.

She’s got a nice body, but her face looks old and “used up” before its time. I blame the chain smoking. Ladies, please don’t smoke.

Glad she got rid of it. That’s all I ever saw when I looked at her. It looked like it was eating her alive. I don’t know why some of these other stars don’t get rid of those ugly big brown ones too on the face, also Charlize Theron with that big one she has on her neck.

Most people would rather have a little mole there than a red or white scar there. That’s why. Me, I don’t care; I have several removal scars and I’d rather have scars than cancer. So there you go.

  22. what’s up with the “ladies, please don’t smoke” ?? Men shouldn’t smoke either, and it ages their complexions just as badly as women. Oh – and yes, women do care about mens’ looks and ages. We can be just as shallow as men.
