I’m not exactly sure what Denise Richards is famous for, I thought she was a glamor model (as in, posed in Playboy a few times) but apparently she also had a film career. Then she got too old to swan about nude, which for most of us was around 4 but for her it was 30, so now she stars on a reality television show. Despite her nudity and topless paparazzi chasing (NSFW), the show isn’t drawing in viewers, so she’s decided to drag out her divorce/custody battle. Again. Denise has filed an emergency protective order for her children, citing ’serious issues’ at Charlie’s house.
According to (Charlie’s lawyer Martin) Singer, a judge was planning to deny the motion when Richards’ family lawyer, Neal Hersh, asked if he could withdraw the motion and refile it before another judge on Monday.
Hersh told E! News that he is planning to return to court next week to argue the motion.
Which, as far as Sheen’s camp is concerned, won’t have quite the same impact as taking a swipe at the Two and a Half Men star today.
“In my opinion [Hersh] did it today to tie into the Emmy nominations, and, in fact, Charlie got an Emmy nomination, so I think it was timed for that reason,” Singer told us. “I wonder if she had a producer from E! there helping her put on her show.“ (E! Online is a division of E! Entertainment.)
Sheen earned his third straight Emmy nod for his lead role as a womanizing jingle writer in Two and a Half Men, which is again up for Best Comedy.
To which Hersh responded, Huh?
“Mr. Singer focuses far too much on celebrity clientele,” Hersh told E! News this afternoon. “I focus on issues. I had no idea that today was the Emmy nominations whatsoever or do I care, one way or another. We went to court today because we felt it was necessary and appropriate.”
“Denise has made her position clear throughout these proceedings and her position is, all the judicial officers and the files have been sealed, but all the things have been clear,” Hersh added. “And she is not saying one thing in private and one thing in public.”
I know that Charlie Sheen has a history of less-than-sane behavior, including visiting Hollywood hookers, shooting his fiancé accidentally, dating adult film stars, doing drugs and gambling. Not to mention that he claims to have bedded over 5,000 women, which when you take into account that old safe sex saying about ‘remember, you’re sleeping with everyone he’s ever had sex with’ it kind of puts you off. Despite this less than stellar personal history Charlie Sheen actually seems like the sane one in this custody battle.
What is Denise claiming is unsafe in his home? What ‘serious issue’ stops the kids from visiting Charlie? Is the toilet backed up? I am starting to wonder if Denise Richards is trying to interfere with Charlie’s personal happiness, taking him to court the week of the Emmys, and giving interviews about what a creep he is the week of his new marriage. Next time you break up with someone and want some revenge, don’t drag your kids into it Denise. Just sew some shrimp into his curtains or order 30 pizzas to his house.
Note by Celebitchy: The emergency order was about to denied by the judge when Denise’s lawyer withdrew the papers and ask that they be sent to another judge. Richard’s lawyer denies he’s judge-shopping for someone who will be sympathetic to their case and claims that the judge just realized one of her colleagues, who is currently on vacation, is more familiar with the issues brought up in their case and would be better qualified to preside. Charlie’s lawyer says Denise is trying to get publicity for her reality show while working to deny Charlie visitation. [details from TMZ’s updates to the story]

She’s like a one-woman wrecking ball, seriously. Get. Over. Yourself. You have children; they are little PEOPLE, not little PAWNS. Charlie’s right; they’ve been divorced longer than the marriage lasted. She is just so infuriating on SO many levels.

Back in court…Denise’s rent must be due again. I flipped to that show of hers the other day long enough to see she had two assistants. Yeah. That makes total sense.

her dogs and her pet pig are really cute. as for the custody thing, who know what really goes on, but those girls just look glum.

denise is an abject wreck. last week’s show had her 10 DOGS urinating and pooping all over her house. She’s really a stupid woman - but - Charlie has serious anger issues. Does no one remember him telling her “I hope you get cancer like your bald mom and DIE” ?? The man is verbally abusive at best and kids should not be subjected to that kind of environment.
My guess is that he and Brooke are having problems and Denise is concerned with the kids being exposed to it. And she’s right to be concerned.
I agree Denise “can’t let go,” (she mentions Heather and Richie in every show) but if the kids are witnessing Charlie’s verbal abuse, she is right to step in.

I can’t see that the kids being exposed to any problems Charlie and Brooke may be having is any worse than watching Charlie and Denise fight constantly. In fact, it’s probably better, since they aren’t attached to both parties. This is a simple case of both parties using the kids to hurt each other - and in the long run, only the kids get hurt. This kind of crap makes me furious and is why I don’t do family law any more.

Denise Richards needs to get on with her life. Charlie Sheen is remarried now and no longer cares about Denise or discusses her in public. Denise is obsessed with playing the victim role.

Those poor kids are so miserable every time she parades them around. The oldest on is particularly disturbed by being in photo line ups and always cries or acts out, so if you are a good parent why do you continually take your child places where she is bound to be uncomfortable and upset all the time. That’s the bad parent.
Her attorney should be shot.

I have never seen those children look happy. I saw the episode when the little girl made a comment about loving her recently deceased grandmother.
A child should never be placed in the situation that these girls have been. I never thought that anyone could make Charlie Sheen look like the more responsible parent….but Denise Richards has managed that.
She should move on with her life, whatever that includes, and be a parent and not an embarrassment to her children. Protect them not exploit them

What is up with the the California family court system? Because of people like her, they have instated a system in Minnesota (well in the counties closest to the cities) where you get one judge for all of your divorce/custody, etc. You have the option to remove at the beginning, before anything has happened, but you get a random replacement if you choose to do so.
The logic is one judge for all of the proceedings means that they know the case and the parties best because they know the details of the case, and people can’t try to take advantage of other judges who may not know as much. It curbs a lot of the drama people like her create.

I totally agree with everyone who has said Denise Richards needs to get over herself, her divorce, Charlie, whatever and get on with her life and her kids’ lives.
If Charlie Sheen is behaving in a way she thinks isn’t good for the kids, fine do something about it, but don’t do it publically. Her lawyer could say “No comment” and that would be the end of it all.
The two of them kind of deserve each other actually what a pair of a******s.

This woman, and I use the term loosely, is psychologically destroying her children. THAT is the dangerous situation. I highly doubt that Charlie has a “Dangerous” situation in his house. Every time I see her I think she looks more and more piggish.

Denise get a life! Be glad that Charlie wants to be with his children. There are alot of children out there that their fathers(so-called) walk away and dont give them a second thought. Shame on you for denying your children the pleasure of growing up with both of you!

Next her reality show will have her preparing her daughters for mud wrestling practice. Of course producers will feature that after her next tell all interview about how she didn’t stab Heather Locklear in the back, and how she is the best mother on earth rant…
I hope CS can prove to a court the girls are in danger and get them away from this malicious B#tch!
