I have to say…i believe everything i read about JLo, and somehow, i still really like her.
I completely buy the over-the-top diva famewhore picture that is consistently painted about her, but for some reason, i think she is still pretty enjoyable.
Last night was a bit much…mostly she completely suckered in both Randy and Steven.

I thought JLo’s emotional meltdown was genuine…sorry…her voice was quivering from the start when she began to tell the contestant he didn’t make it…It’s not her fault that the show’s producer opted to milk the meltdown for all it was worth…that’s who’s doing the editing. The producer could have opted to cut it out entirely, but didn’t. Misplaced blame on JLo…and please stop bringing up the fact that she was once with Diddy…yuck

I believe she’s invested in these kids and that her responses are genuine and heartfelt.
Both she and Steven are bringing a new energy to the show that I don’t believe can be faked or done for the paycheck or self serving reasons alone.

Wow, you guys are bitchy! I would have cried if I were in her place, that’s for sure… so would you. Why do you question her emotions then? Isn’t she human? Why would she be void of true feelings? I don’t get why you have to be mean when the situation with that contestant and the rejection must have been, indeed, really emotionally-challenging.

I wasn’t going to watch the show this season but I have to admit that Steve and Jlo have breathed a new energy into AI. I believed that both Steve and JLO believe and care about the contestants in a way that the previous judges never did. Never for one moment did I feel JLO was faking or milking the camera. It was the directors choice to edit the show the way he chose to. We could have see much less or none of that whole interaction. So don’t accuse Jlo for acting, because it wasn’t her choice for us to see what happened after the contestant left the room.

I guess it takes one to know one … I thought she was genuinely heartbroken for him, his situation, that this was another disappointment for him and it was up to her to deliver that message; you can never deliver a message like that perfectly so it always hurts. She got that and I don’t think you can pretend that, really. Even I teared up; I guess I’d have no reason to think his story wasn’t heartbreaking enough to move someone to that, without having to act it out. I’m disturbed that so many people apparently do.
It’s so weird how once, when gossip columns ran stories like this it was to create drama and controversy and outrage because they could bank on the fact that people like to be indignant. Now all they receive is support. I guess either works fine for them, but lord it’s scary to witness.

Oh the hypocrisy of Lopez being on a singing show dishing advice. There are still rumours that she didn’t do the singing in her own career. She refused to do concerts because she couldn’t sing live. She got her break by having sex with Puff Daddy. And then patronised everyone by claiming to be Jenny from the block…yeah right. Even her hair isn’t real. And girls look up to her?? Surely Idol is on its last legs by now. It’s tanking in Australia.
