Miley Cyrus is trying to get fired from Hannah Montana

Miley Cyrus has big plans for her career – and they don’t involve wasting any more time on the set of Hannah Montana. According to TMZ, Miley and her dad Billy Ray Cyrus have been acting like total divas on the set of the Disney show, all with the hopes of getting fired. Why? Miley wants to focus on singing, and Billy Ray seems to agree with her.

TMZ has learned Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus want off “Hannah Montana,” and their conduct has triggered a war on the set.

Our spies on the set tell us Miley has bragged that she will get fired, making it clear she wants to focus on singing and not the show. For his part Billy Ray has also made it clear that there is more money in singing than a Disney cable show. As a result, the father-daughter team has been showing up to the set ridiculously late, stalling production and infuriating cast and crew.

Emily Osment, who plays Lilly Truscott, used to be extremely tight with Miley. Now we’re told Emily is so bitter she literally turns away from Miley after each scene. We’re told Emily’s dad got in a screaming match with Billy Ray, complaining he and Miley were unprofessional.

Sources tell us Billy Ray has told people on the set that he and Miley will do twelve more episodes and then they are out. Disney was so pissed they called his agent, railing that Billy Ray and Miley were ingrates. Disney insisted that Billy Ray and Miley not only finish the twenty-four episode season — but Disney was adding six more episodes.

[From TMZ]

While I appreciate any young person who has career plans and goals, there’s a line. Purposely being the biggest bitch you can be in order to get your way pretty much crosses it. Especially when it causes major inconveniences to other people and generally ruins their day. And Billy Ray teaching Miley that this is an appropriate way to act is surely going to regret it. Give her a few more years and he’ll be writing a Lynne Spears-esque memoir title “Whoops – How Should I Have Known Teaching My Kid to be a Spoiled Brat Would Mess Them Up?”

Not only is this poor parenting but it’s also poor business practice. Miley Cyrus is a big star, but she became one because of Hannah Montana. The vast majority of her singing is related to the show in some way. There’s a decent chance she could have a music career apart from all that, but not if she alienates her fans. Put it this way: I don’t know anyone under the age of 18, but even I had head of Hannah Montana a few years ago. Long before I’d ever heard of Miley Cyrus.

Here’s Miley at Disney’s “Concert for Hope in Universal City, CA on September 14th. Images thanks to PR Photos.

I’m so sick of hearing about this little brat. I hope she DOES get fired, and then blacklisted so I don’t have to hear about her ever again!

  2. vdantev says:

I’d extend her show contract out of spite, if it were my decision.

  3. Daniel says:

You know, they have tons of money already, holy crap! famous people are such ingrates! It’s always, more more more! If was making more money than i had bills and was having fun with work, why quit? how many cars and clothes do you need to be satisfied? I’m so sick of celebrities who can’t seem to live without making millions of dollars.uuugh! Lets see them live at under $90,000 a year with two people working full time!

  4. dumdee says:

    i cant stand this kid!

  5. Hollz says:

Who would want to work with her after this? Trying to get fired is *really* going to impress all those future *singing* bosses….Can’t stand her….she sounds like she has 90 year old smokers’ lungs!

  6. Di says:

The worst thing about this is the poor parenting and poor values Billy Ray is teaching his daughter. He should be teaching her to honor her word and be professional. Instead he’s teaching her to be greedy, disrespectful, and dishonest. It also reflects his greed. He will teach his daughter to compromise her morals in order to make more money from her. This is wrong on more than one level.

  7. WTF?!?! says:

I caught her show for the first time this evening, and I have to say that she is a dreadful actress. Horrible. Abysmal. That she ever got cast in a role that actually required her to speak is unfathomable, and her facial expressions are downright simian.
Maybe her music career will continue beyond Hannah Montana, but she needs to dump the extensions and the underpants model to keep her appeal amongst the pre-menarche set or she’ll be filling out applications for Jack-in-the-Box before she turns 18.

  8. oreo90 says:

🙁 🙂 she such a 13itch cause think of her younger fans like 5 year olders like my nieces that look up to her she is such a stupid bitch

  9. Shay says:

Someone should sit her down and tell her that she shouldn’t burn bridges and to save her Mickey Mouse money. Also not to take career advice from her dad. Child stardom doesn’t carry over for most and pissing off Disney which has it hands in a large part of the industry doesn’t make much sense.

  10. daisy says:

i would LOVE it if they replaced her with someone else, I am kinda sick of her face being plastered on every cheap piece of clothing, stationary, hairbrushes, etc…

  11. Syko says:

And where would she be if not for Hannah Montana and Disney? Nobody ever heard of her. If she has any sort of career, it’s due to them.

As for taking advice from dear old Dad – she should look at his record. One big hit years and years ago and a quick fade into obscurity until he got the chance to manage his daughter’s life and get a job due to her, and now he can pose for suggestive pictures with her. Ugh.

  12. Megan says:

Erm, why doesn’t she just quit? Why does she have to get fired to be able to leave? And I agree with all the above commenters, she definitely owes her entire career to Disney, same as Hilary Duff. Disney is big and powerful, don’t mess with the hand that feeds you.

  13. jess says:

    its called a contract megan…

  14. Listerino says:

Miley needs to get over herself. She’s what? Just turned 15 or 16? She’s got soo many years ahead of her that she should respect the company that made her famous in the first place and finish up the season of Hanna Montana. If it wasn’t for that show nobody would know who the hell she was.

And we all know that after a few years she’ll probably end up a has been like Britney and end up doing drugs and drinking and the like from all the pressure of being famous at such a young age.

  15. Shona says:

Her singing is definitely not good enough to fall back on. Come to think of it neither is her acting. You should see some of the youtube comments on her videos, the preteen fans are turning on her! There is some feud about either liking the Jonas Brothers or liking her. They choose the Jonas Brothers most of the time.

  16. Matt says:

I’ve have no idea about US law, but wouldn’t it be grounds for civil action if she pulls stunts to get fired? I dunno, all that doesn’t sound like such a good idea from her…

  17. Kaiser says:

Another brilliant play from The Katherine Hiegel Guide to Being An Ungrateful, Unprofessional Bitch.

I hope Disney ruins her life.

  18. A.J. says:

Earth to Miley: you’re dispensable. There will always be another up-and-coming annoying tweenage prostitot lined up to take her predecessor’s place. Pissing off Disney isn’t going to help you or your career at all- if anything, it’s going to speed up the inevitable and burn lots of bridges.

Without Disney she’d be nothing, because let’s be honest: the girl cannot act her way out of a paper bag, and her singing is obnoxious and grating. Few outside of the kiddie entertainment market would take the risk employing her, especially as her fanbase grows up and matures past her.

I can’t wait to watch her eventually crash and burn. She just seems like a snotty, spoiled like brat, and the faux-innocence thing is really old- especially when every other week there are more trashy pictures posted. Anyway, her ruin will be of an epic magnitude when it happens, maybe even bigger than Britney’s meltdown. Fingers crossed.

  19. Anna says:

I think her behaviour is indeed truly unprofessional and she should not burn all those bridges, even if Disney is a very demanding company.

That being said, if she really wants out, she should go the Jessica Biel way: strip for a nudie magazine.

Then again, that’s not such a good idea at her age… poor Miley.

  20. Codzilla says:

This girl doesn’t have enough real talent to make it outside the machine, so I say, go for it, Miley! The sooner you jump ship, the sooner you’ll go away.

  21. Alecto says:

I can’t wait for her to get fired and fade into obscurity. I’m tired of her no talent self invading my tv and radio. I’ve had to ban her from my 8yoa.

  22. Julie says:

She’ll end up doing something stupid a la the Dixie Chicks (“We’re quitting country music” — no one noticed), and in two years time people will see her cd in the discount bin at Walgreens. “Miley . . . who? Didn’t she used to be Hannah Somethin’?”

  23. kate says:

They should be thankful for that dumb show. Her true talent is DEFINITELY not singing. They should be worshiping the ground Disney walks on for giving them a show like that to make her famous. She couldn’t have become famous without Disney. What a spoiled rotten brat. I wish parents would boycott her and not let their kids watch her.

  24. Diva says:

Pretty unbelievable what so many of you are saying about and wishing on a 15 year old girl.

Were the lot of you ready and able to make sound and responsible decisions about a career when YOU were 15????

Considering she IS a CHILD, whether she dresses like one or thinks she isn’t one, or not, she most certainly IS one. She’s being taught and led, like any 15 year old. Put blame where it belongs. You don’t seem to have a problem doing that with the Spears’ family.

  25. Alexa says:

I second that, Diva. I really don’t understand why everyone here feels so hostile toward her. My eight-year-old and all of her friend absolutely LOVE Hannah Montana everything AND Miley Cyrus. That girl has been working her butt off in super-human fashion. She’s most likely exhausted.

BTW: I find her to be very talented and entertaining. I even was liking one of her new songs before my daughter said, “Mom. That’s Miley Cyrus.” (I was a little embarrassed, but . . . it was a regular song – not for Hannah Montana or Disney.)

  26. pannie says:

    i like her anyway

  27. TC says:

Billy “one hit wonder” should have learned something the first time around and not be encouraging the nonsensical idea that she has a career in singing and that anyone other than Hanna fans will care at all about her if she leaves that show. Biting the hand that feeds you and another example of a parent living vicariously through their child. Disney makes so many of these little teen stars who trick themselves into thinking that their fan base is bigger than it is and end up like George Michael (see post)

  28. Codzilla says:

Diva: She’s old enough to know the difference between treating people with respect and being an ass. And while her parents certainly deserve a good share of the blame, I don’t believe Miley should get a free pass because of her age.

  29. Diva says:

Codzilla – where do children LEARN respect and how to treat people? I learned those things from my parent.

Miley Cyrus is no worse than a hell of alot of 15 year old girls I know, and I know ALOT of them because I’m raising my 15 year old sister and she has some pretty horrible friends. Cyrus just happens to be a mouthy, rebellious, and ill-parented child on TV.

I’m not giving her a “pass”, but I’m certainly not wishing a horrible, near suicide, downward spiral, ala Britney on her, ffs.

  30. Codzilla says:

Diva: I didn’t notice anyone else on this thread wishing her bodily harm, either. We just think her behavior sucks and her music is even worse. That being said, I do agree that her parents have encouraged bad behavior and should be ashamed.

  31. Diva says:

Codzilla – my original post and that part of my second post were MOSTLY in response to A.J.’s comment, not at you…

“I can’t wait to watch her eventually crash and burn…..Anyway, her ruin will be of an epic magnitude when it happens, maybe even bigger than Britney’s meltdown. Fingers crossed.”

  32. Bax says:

She/They are stupid. I am not a Miley Cyrus fan, but obviously they don’t seem to realize that Miley’s popularity comes from her success at Disney. Disney is the largest entertainment conglomerate in the industry. They obviously have lost sight of the big picture. But, I am not surprised though, her father is Billy Ray Cyrus, Mr. Achy-Breaky-One-Hit Wonder. You would think he would have more wisdom to establish a sense of patience and discipline in his own daughter. Either he is trying to sabotage his daughter’s success/career, or he is showing the world just how out of touch he is. Unfortunately they will discover that karma is generous bitch. This type of behavior will only come back to haunt them in the end. Live and learn.

  33. sluggo says:

After Disney gives them the old heave-ho, father and daughter can join forces and go on a successful coast-to-coast tour of suburban malls: “Achy-Breaky & Big Mistakey: It’s Not Electric Youth, But it Pays for Skoal and Pepsi”

Does anyone remember several months ago when there was a big whoop-de-do about Miley legally changing her name to “Miley Ray Cyrus” so even MORE people would associate her with her daddy (and his “career”)? What happened with that?

  34. Anne says:

Ok, I know nothing about this girl, her music or her show. I looked her up on Youtube just now, the show is kind of cute – I can see why tweens like it. Her singing though, wow, not good. All three clips I listened to sounded the same but I checked and they were actually three different songs.

If she’s serious about wanting to leave she should quit and pay the contract out. She has enough money to do it. I’m sure being fired isn’t going to get her the kind of publicity she wants. Makes wonder about the validity of the story. I can see her and Billy acting like divas but I highly doubt they are trying to get fired. Just sounds like celebrities being asses because they can get away with it.

  35. Jeanne says:

How cheesy anyway that her claim to fame is a rhyming name! I guess she was also good for daddy Billy Ray, Mr. One Hit, One Haircut Wonder. Old Miley breathed life into his career. If she was smart she’d ride out her Disney popularity as long as she can and take a lesson from Hilary Duff.

  36. Nina says:

I have said it before. This kid has waaayyyy too much freedom, and no, if at all, dicipline and respect. That seems to be the problem with most kids these days. I wonder why that is? We are the ones raising them, arent we?

  37. hater from siloam springs says:

Wow. Glad they are publicly-confessing Christians. I am sure this is exactly what Jesus would do — and I’m sure that the employment of everyone else on their shitty little show doesn’t depend on Miley at all, does it? So leaving the show will not leave them all completely up shit’s creek.

However, because there are so few counter-examples, it’s hard to overlook the problem that this is what working for Disney does to people — especially child stars. When they turn 16, they suddenly fall apart and star acting like they are the only people on earth with a life. I think the message to Disney ought to be to find a way to develop child stars who don’t develop psychological problems.

After they punch Billy Ray Virus in the mouth.

  38. dovesgate says:

Eh, let her quit. My kids already think iCarly is the better show and Amanda Kosgrove is the better singer.

  39. kate says:

    just quit, already.

  40. empty space says:

i am tired of aALL the damn disney “stars” including the gayarse jonas brothers

  41. Jeanne says:

Hmmm, time to take some more naughty pictures and leak them to the media. Maybe Miley should talk to Paris Hilton about how to make a sex tape, or talk to Britney Spears on how to do a Vegas wedding, or maybe she could shave her head bald, or maybe get pregnant like Jamie Lynn Spears. Oh my gosh, the possibilities are endless.

  42. mitch says:

To be fair Disney may be all stars and dreams but the people who work in the offices dont make millions a day from stars they know how to play people to do what they want and i think that getting fired may be the only way out for miley and billy.. and if she feels she doesnt want to do Hannah Montana anymore then its her life and she has to live it as she wants it and i think she has got to the age where disney isnt serious enough for her its exactly the same as Britney, Justin and Christina in the Mickey Mouse club but in the 21st century … So good luck to her.

  43. Serena says:

you have to be kiding me…
who does she think she is? So much for down to earth. she’s going stright down the same road as spears and lohan but shes going so much faster than them combine. There are girls as young as 5 years old looking up to her and she goes ahead and acts like a total spoiled brat. I think if it wasn’t for disney she would still be down in TN. Not a star, just a NORMAL down to earth teen… something she’s so far beyond. I think she should be thanking disney, greatful for them and there show and most of all be willing to finish out her contract when disney wants and than she can go ahead and focus on her singing… it’s obvios the show isn’t completely stopping her from singing. Miley start acting like a normal 16 year old, like you clam to be, instead of a 6 year old.

  44. Can't stand her says:

I have never been able to stand her. She has absolutely zilch talent. She sings through her nose and she just looks evil. Very cold eyes. Her dad is no better either.

  45. emily says:

omg miley i looked up to u and u want to get fired ur so sick i am so sorry to say this but how colud you do this to ur fans and ur family u are the richest tenn in the world dont u wanna carry on that i would now got 2 go bye

  46. G says:

Christian, my ass–after those provocative pictures and making fun of other Disney stars on YouTube. Phony, hypocritical little bitch, she is.

  47. Cut me some slack says:

It is startling, even in this day and age, even in the post-Barney world of insulting childrens’ intelligence and force feeding them dog barf–this girl has no talent! Has the whole world gone crazy? What on earth does she has to offer? It’s a sad joke that she’s famous for no other reason than Disney’s say-so….and a slap in the face to every child that idolizes her, whether they realize it or not. Disney’s not even picking pockets, they’re out right conning kids.

  48. Riley says:

    Brat/Jamie Lynn Spears #2!!
    Miley Cyrus is so blah!!
    get over yourself!!!!!!!!!

  49. Suhaila says:

    OMG. she’s such a stuck-up obscene bitch.
First of all, HANNAH MONTANA is the one that made her AND her dad famous. What other show have you seen Billy Ray on? I didn’t even know who he was until the show.
It really looks like Billy Ray is making money off his daughter. I think it’s wrong.
And, miley is unprofessional. If the disney contract states that the contract was valid for 10 years, so be it. I mean, without Hannah Montana, she’s nothing. Just another kid tryna make it big in Tinseltown. And when she does, she’ll get spoilt by her dad who’s earning a living off of his own daughter. Then she’ll become a total diva.
Another person in her family that disgusts me is Trace Cyrus.

I’m sick of hearing of the Cyrus family.

  50. tj says:

She’s one of the most undeserving child actors in this decade, quite possibly. I know people with more talent in their little finger than she has in her entire body, and yet she’s as famous as she is? She’s not anything particularly special in acting, and she’s certainly not good enough to live off of a singing career alone.
I hope she does get fired, so she loses all of her Disney fans. Let’s see who buys her CDs then.

  51. John says:

She’s a cult leader. An evil cult leader.

  52. KateLaand says:

I found this, read it, and loved it! I hate Miley Cyrus and all the other Disney “stars” who think that just because they have a show means that they have to start singing. Blegh.
Even if she does get fired though, they’ll try and make it really inconspicuous on the show. However, if it was up to me, I’d make it a huge deal and repeat how she got fired for being an ass (although you can’t really say that on Disney channel xD) and get everyone to hate her. Mwahah!

And earlier someone mentioned iCarly…That’s just as bad. All these new shows are shiiit! They act like they’re all that when they’re not even funny!! Ugh.
That’s why I prefer to watch cartoons like Family Guy or the Boondocks (lol). Then I’m not bombarded by Nick’s or Disney’s unfunny shows. =/

  53. kathygorden says:

Miley Cyrus is not a role model for my 14 yr old daughter. Miley Cyrus is not particularly talented, incredibly pompous for a 17 (?) year old, nor has she spent enough time on the planet to have earned all this attention, fame, and need I say, millions of dollars. There are so many more people who are deserving. She hasn’t paid her dues. When I think of those who really keep our communities going – the police officers, teachers, firemen & fire women, the contractors – and the list goes on and on – then I think of this self-centered twit, well, what more is there to say??? However, the media keeps pushing her upon us. . .why I do not know. . .tonight I watched her parade on stage during the oscars, as if she had a right to be there, in a low cut gown that barely stayed up. . .as usual, I find myself asking “Where are her parents exactly?” Who in the world would let their child make such a fool of herself? KG

  54. ashley says:

omg i can’t understand the reason why she got fired or did she just quit her job like that

  55. Karen says:

Uhh I’m so sick of Miley Cyrus.Shes turning in to the next Britney Spears.By next year she’ll be broke, doin drugs, and have a kid and not know whos the daddy
