Camila Alves is more than just Matthew McConaughey’s baby-mama. She is the designer and owner of her own line of purses and handbags, called Muxo.
According to the Muxo Web site, Camila and her mother make every bag by hand: “every stitch sewn, every piece of iron detail, every tassle of fringe, custom made, designed, and crafted by me and my mother’s two hands. It takes us 5 to 8 hours to make each handbag. No machines, no assembly line…so every one is not only original, there’s really no two alike.”
To get top stars to wear their clothes, designers often send out free samples, and Muxo’s PR reps are no exception. They sent out freebies to Hollywood’s biggest stars and trendsetters, but one employee made a big oops by sending out a purse to Matt’s ex-girlfriend Penelope Cruz. According to Star, Camila wasn’t at all happy.
A source says she’s jealous of the sizzling Spanish actress. “Camila is a little insecure about her relationship with Matt because they’re not married. The fear that he might reconnect with Penelope is still lurking….She’s just praying Penelope marries Javier Bardem soon.”

I’m guessing the Muxo employee who sent Penelope the bag is now shopping around her resume.
I don’t think Camila has too much to worry about. I don’t pretend to even vaguely comprehend what thoughts go through Matthew McConaughey’s head, but Camila seems like a much better match for him than Penelope, who is more high-maintenance. I wouldn’t expect to see Penelope carrying her new baby in a sling to a Texas Longhorns game, as Camila recently did.
After participating in a 10K run in Austin, Matthew even told People that Camila is the love of his life.
Also, I can’t see Penelope dumping the smokin’ Javier Bardem for Matt. She’s surely had her share living in an RV.
Note by Celebitchy: Take the Star story about Camila getting jealous with a bunch of salt on top of a cold margarita glass. It could be true, or it might just be wishful thinking.

Most of the bags were pretty sad, but couple of them are sweet! I’m a handbag freak, though. I really liked the one she’s posing with on the home page, the Oxum, or whatever…
ANYWAY… I think this story is BS, lmao… I don’t get the impression Camila is worried about anyone taking her man.

I don’t think I can think of anyone who I feel is as beautiful as she. The woman is an actual goddess. I love that she and her mother have stuck to hand making the bags, so much today is mass produced, it really makes the bags pure art.
I just adore this woman.

If the story is true (doubt it) she shouldn’t worry. I don’t think there’s a danger that Pene will ever carry any of these ugly things. She should stick to modeling.

Nobody in their right mind would want oatmeal in favor of a juicy steak like Javier. No contest.
Those purses are hideously expensive, as well as simply ugly, and where’s the variation in design? They all look like those ones you get in Mexico made of paper-thin leather that rip apart after you get home. Granted, paying $12,000 would probably preclude the ripping apart, but fringe??
And if Camila is the love of his life, wtf’s he waiting for on the marriage to the mother of his child? tacky.

hmmm… You know that this type of “drama,” that blogs and gossip sites love to pick up on, would be just the perfect way to get more people to go to her site to check out her bags… I fell for it, but won’t buy anything.

The handbags are okay and look like nice soft leather, but I absolutely must have a long strap so these are not my style. I think that fringe thing is back in style.

Camilla is classic, elegant and understated. I seriously doubt the validity of this story except the idea she is a bit insecure as they are not married-this shows me she is also traditional and sensible. That dunderhead Matthew should rush to marry her.

Baby mama or not, nothing lasts with McConaughey more than a couple years. They’ll do the “split but remain friends” thing by this time next year.
