Pitt disappoints fans at Berlin Burn After Reading premiere
We waited for three hours at the premiere of Burn After Reading in Berlin tonight, but Brad Pitt was a no show despite the fact that he’s in Berlin with his family. Pitt was not listed as an attendee on the handout given by the company handling press, but it was thought that he might show up at some point since he’s living here. Fans waited and looked for him for well over two hours, and advance buzz was all about Pitt, but he just didn’t come. It was mostly German celebrities. Tilda Swinton was included on the list of expected attendees, and she wasn’t there, either. The disappointment was palpable at the end of the night.
Last Tuesday it was reported that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had moved to Berlin while Brad was filming Inglorious Bastards in nearby Potsdam. Photos of the large estate where they had moved were posted online, and it was reported that the entire family was seen arriving Tempelhof airport on Tuesday and that they’d employed a large staff.

It’s been over a week since they arrived and we were beginning to doubt that Angelina and the kids were here because the only evidence was this grainy faraway video that only showed Brad and Zahara and a figure that may or may not have been Angelina. We visited the house and spoke to one of the paparazzi, though, and he seemed pretty certain that Angelina and the kids were there. The Morgenpost reports today that the whole family visited an indoor playarea in Prenzlauer Berg and later bought toys for their kids. (The story is in German and there aren’t more details. Here is a link to the only indoor playplace we found in that district.) They only say “recently” in the article and don’t give a specific date, so I guess we can’t assume that Brad went out with the fam during the day and then blew off his film premiere that night. Brad, Angelina and the gang went almost completely unnoticed and it’s clear they evaded the 6-8 paparazzi we saw waiting outside their estate over the weekend. Morgenpost also reports that a private jet is waiting at the airport to take them to NY for the premiere of Jolie’s film, The Changeling, at the NY Film Festival on Saturday. Maybe that’s why Pitt couldn’t be bothered to make it to his film premiere in Berlin.
Brad Pitt is next expected to start filming this weekend in Saxonia, (link is to German language article) which is in the east of Germany near the border with Czech Republic. If Angelina goes to NY for her premiere he may have to stay here to work. How hard would it have been for him to blow in and out of the premiere in Berlin? It’s not even a half hour drive from his house.

If Brad was not listed on the press release to be there why would anyone think he would be? I am confused why people would be upset, which seems to be true. There were pixs of Brad holding Shiloh as well as him holding a baby seat walking from the plane to the van, and Angelina walking down the plane steps with Maddox. So there is no doubt she is in Berlin with Brad. They have just become adept for the most part as staying out of sight and that is a great for the family.

Your poor husband celebitchy, the night he decides to be a pap, he misses the celebs. Atleast there were some. I hope he is luckier next time.
I thought celebrities were under duty to promote movies. I can imagine what kind of schedule they have. And with six children and full blown careers it must be tough. I am exhausted just seeing pictures of Pitt carrying them from plane to the waiting van.
On the plus side. Staying under the radar is good for them and for us all.

Brad and Angie could not care less about their fans. They know that there is nothing that they could do that would make their die hard fans say anything bad against them. The fans are kind of brain washed. Have you ever heard Brad or Angie (since they got together) ever thank their fans or say what great fans they have? Brad could have easily showed up to greet his fans if he was only 1/2 hour away. But Brad knows that even if he doesn’t talk to press (because he is too important), if he doesn’t show at premieres (even if he is close) his fans will make up some excuse as to why he couldn’t make it. He can treat his fans like crap and they blindly follow. and by the way they can “slip under the radar’ whenever they want to. Be sure that when the paps get good family pictures they have been called by Brad and Angie.

There was no indication on the handout he would be there so why expect him to be? That’s the way it goes Folks. I would hate to live like they have to, all the covert planning to avoid paps so they can take the children somewhere…like being in a fishbowl. Nice they got to the indoor play area without being hassled.

Not to be a nit picker or anything but Czechoslovakia does NOT exist anymore and has not been on the world map since 1989. It’s Czech republic and Slovak republic. So Germany borders on Czech republic in the east with Prague being it’s capital.
I know it’s probably a minor detail to you but I’m sure the citizens of both countries would really appreciate the recognition.

You know what I really like about The Brange? They *do* love their fans, they usually spend time signing autographs, and most importantly, they never bad-mouth the people they work with or their fans. Unlike an ex-wife I know.

Kaiser: Ever heard them talk about their fans or say a nice word. If so please post. All stars spend time signing autographs at premieres that is nothing new. Be honest they treat their fans like dirt and they know they can get away with it because you guys think everything they do is so wonderful. Really pathetic. And come on this site is one of the best for not bringing Jennifer into Brad/Angie posts – leave it that way. Can you Brad/Angie fans never stop bringing her up. I am so tired of hearing her name.
