Sarah Palin on Julianne Moore playing her: “I’ll just grit my teeth and bear it”

Sarah Palin was on the Sean Hannity show on Fox News recently, where she commented on the story that Julianne Moore is set to play her in an upcoming HBO movie, based on the bestselling novel Game Change. Game Change presents Palin in a negative light, and shows her as uninformed, unprepared and unwilling to do the work necessary to campaign for the Vice Presidency. So Sarah was typically negative when it came to commenting on the movie and had had nothing nice to say, as is also typical for her.

“Well, I am all about job creation and I guess I could provide some of these gals who pretend like they’re me some job security.

“I would ask though that – if they’re of the mind of spreading the wealth around – that perhaps they want to spring for one of my kid’s braces or something as they capitalise on pretending to be me.

“I think I’ll just grit my teeth and bear whatever comes what may with that movie.”

[via Daily Mail]

Palin wants someone to give her part of their salary for playing her, as if Palin hasn’t made a fortune on her own with speaking engagements, bestselling books, and generally capitalizing on her image. She can take the perks that come with being a public figure but she’s in no way gracious when it comes to dealing with the inevitable and well-founded criticism that goes along with that.

This business about how Palin thinks she’s so important that she’s giving work to actresses isn’t new. She said in October, 2008 that she was providing “job security for SNL characters” and “just trying to keep Tina Fey in business.”

Speaking of Tina Fey, she’s offered to give Julianne Moore the wig she used to play Palin on SNL. She also cosigned Julianne as Palin, and said “She’s a great choice. She’s a great actress.” Palin couldn’t even be bothered to say Julianne’s name or that she was flattered that she was being portrayed by a top actress.

WTF IS SHE WEARING? That’s like some wizard costume for crazy bitches.

  2. jemshoes says:

I don’t know anything about this (and very little about Sarah Palin in particular) but I’ve learned too late in life that it’s good to have a sense of humour. A healthy sense of humour is better than gritting your teeth and baring it! And not to take yourself too seriously.

I actually still don’t get it most of time, and make an a** of myself. Is this what’s going to happen to SP? 😉

  3. Eve says:

I think I’ll just grit my teeth and bear it.

Uh? Like we’ve have been gritting our teeth and bearing the fact she exists?

  4. Dorothy#1 says:

I really, really dislike Sarah Palin. i blame FOX News that we still have to hear from her.

  5. e says:

Jenna, I think she thought it was “Medieval Day” at fox news. Be gone with ye Sarah and page, bring me a goblet of mead.

  6. EdithP says:

Bitch please. If they chose Julianne Moore to play me I would be honored. More likely they would pick Rosie O’Donnell.

  7. Quest says:

“Game Change presents Palin in a negative light, and shows her as uninformed, unprepared and unwilling to do the work necessary to campaign for the Vice Presidency” on HBO

OMG… I did not know it was a true story adaptation. Why not make it a Sci-fi flick and we can burn her at the stake.

SP should all spare us the nepotism – she sucks and nobody likes this woman so be thankful someone even gives a flying-hoot to make a movie about her. It even says alot for these networks nowadays who really lacks vision.

  8. Isabel says:

LOL @Jenna! Some wizard costume for crazy bitches!!!!

  9. Hautie says:

Is it just me or does those screen grabs look like Tina Fey. haha!

I swear Palin has no clue. If Fey had not did a great impression of her, Palin’s 15 minutes would have already been up.

  10. Jules says:

Julianne Moore is too good for the likes a Sarah Palin……and what is with that hairstyle? Amd I the only one that thinks her style is Alaskan Hee Haw?

  11. Jackson says:

This story is so full of ‘Bitch, please’ that I can’t even with it. I just can’t.

WTF is she wearing? Seriously, if you’re going to wear wizard clothes then at least change up the old librarian hair. What a joke this woman is, both inside and out.

  12. Rita says:

Nobody can do Sarah like Tina Fey. I seldom find SNL funny but Tina as Sarah had me laughing out loud.

  13. machiavelli says:

    That hair…..!

  14. Jezi says:

I think they should keep Tina Fey and make a comedy of her life, cause her life is funny. She’s a joke.

  15. sapphire says:

bump on bump? The haters are going to jump me, but I keep thinking of the RNC’s term “The Wasilia Hillbillys”.

  16. flourpot says:

“Well, I am all about job creation”

LOL! So that’s why you quit your jobs before they’re complete. Gotcha.

  17. Rita says:

There have been comments on the web that Palin was responsible for the giant sardine kill in LA last week where millions of the little fish suffocated in a boat harbor.

Personally, I think this is liberal libel. The story of Palin coming to LA was in the Times but where would sardines buy a news paper?

  18. mln76 says:

Who complains about Julianne Moore playing them in a movie? Even if you think Sarah Palin is attractive she isn’t a fraction as stunning as Julianne Moore. Oh well she has shown what kind of a sport she is….

  19. Richi says:

Tina Faye would have been the best choice for the movie that Julianne moore!

  20. e says:

Palin makes me ill but she has really thick hair and she could style it so much better than this “Ex Pageant runner up meets my grandmother” look. And the highlights are trashy.

  21. Jesus Christ Superstar says:

Game Change is SO good. Palin comes off as completely insane and dumb as a rock. Love it and can’t wait for the movie! It was seriously on of the best books of 2010, along with Freedom by Johnathan Franzen.

  22. neelyo says:

That first screen cap is hilarious. And I doubt she’ll just grit her teeth and bear it. She always has to say something.

Is that a green screen behind her or does her Alaska studio have a huge window like the Today show? I’d love to see people holding up ‘Hi Mom!’ signs behind her.

  23. rissa says:

I think you forgot to add the link for bristols comment…. I mean she had to comment right?

  24. tina says:

The “Urkel guy” should play Obama in that same movie…Who is angry and ugly enough to play Michelle??? Oh yeah, the one who plaid the maid in The Jeffersons… wait, she’s too old…anyway, someone like that…Hamn should play Moore’s husband…Dreyfus should play McCain…

  25. lucy2 says:

LOL at the clothing comments, that was the first thing I noticed when I saw clips of this!
I can’t believe I’m saying this about a grown woman, but why does she have to be such a snot? She’s so condescending, yet also so clueless at the same time, and always looking to make childish digs at people. Grow the hell up already, and for heaven’s sake, don’t act like you’re struggling to put braces on your kid. It’s well known she’s raked in millions capitalizing on her own particular brand of crazy.

  26. tina says:

    (played)

  27. bondbabe says:

Palin probably wanted to play herself!

  28. Jayna says:

Sarah Palin is an embarrassment. McCain lost my respect when he chose her as VP. At his age, if he was elected president and died in office, we would have had this imbecile running our country during the worst economic crisis in our times and during a war. It scares me to death to think of that possiblility.

She quit halfway through her first term as governor so she could go make her mint in books from her new popularity as former VP pick, and to appear on Faux News. What a leader. LOL

And during the election process, she dissed Hillary Clinton as a whiner, and that she shouldn’t complain. That it makes women in politics look bad. LOL Look who is the whiner.
Hillary was tough as nails and took the big boys on and with her ability to pick herself back up time and time again on the campaign trail and with her keen intelligence, she won respect all over the world and came out of Bill Clinton’s shadow. Sarah Palin is Ellie Mae Clampett, beauty with limited intelligence and a whole lot of white trash in her.

  29. lmp says:

    Hannity is an idiot tool.

  30. J says:

Why do the Americans even bother to put up with her?

    Look at her face!

  31. Eve says:

    @ Bondbabe:

Palin probably wanted to play herself!

    Good point!

    @ Jayna:

Sarah Palin is an embarrassment. McCain lost my respect when he chose her as VP. At his age, if he was elected president and died in office, we would have had this imbecile running our country during the worst economic crisis in our times and during a war. It scares me to death to think of that possiblility.

It scared the hell out of me too and I don’t even live there!

  32. Relli says:

Whats with all the political post lately? Granted Palin isn’t actually a politician more of celebutard, but its a lot less fun when i know i the commentators political affiliations.

Because i don’t think its necessarily the “liberal media” who is trying to trash Palin or blame her for things, it think its her own party and the UBER conservative old, white men who control the Republican Party. The blaming her for the Arizona soothing is a great example. I am on a lot of “Liberal Media” blogs and online publications and the only place i saw running that theory was Fox news. Only a few weeks before all that Bristol had just bought a house and there were rumors that Palin was thinking of relocating the whole family there and possibly running for McCain’s seat and the BOOM!

Liberals are a lot of thing but they aren’t exactly fire starters and most of them i know including myself would prefer if she just fell of the face of the earth, but harbor no ill will. As in i definitely do not wish her dead I just want her to shut up once in awhile. She is entertaining in her own right but dangerous in her messages and not exactly who she sell herself as. AND BEFORE people start getting up in arms, YES i believe the same in a lot of politicians democrats as well.

  33. TaylorB says:

That ‘do’ she is sporting reminds me of something my southern grandmother used to say…

‘The taller the hair, the closer to God.’

Granted she was kidding, but maybe Palin and Snookie actually fell for that old line. I am no fashion plate but if her hair gets any bigger I am going to start calling her Prymatt from Remulak, she looks like a conehead.

  34. Bodhi says:

Right, because Julianne Moore needs job security…

And, right, like the Palin’s need money…

  35. Justaposter says:

    oh boy here we go.

I am not going to comment on the political side of this. The comment section gets a bit nutty with anything politcal.

    But I will say this..

Sarah, it could have been worse, they could have gotten Katie Holmes to play her 😉

  36. TaylorB says:

    Justaposter,

Good point. But the KatieBot is a bit too young. Personally, I would be so tickled pink if Julianne Moore were picked to play me, she is beautiful and talented.

  37. Cherry Rose says:

MSNBC and CNN were running that too, not just FOX news on the Arizona shootings and on Palin.

But never-the-less, Palin is an idiot, and thank god she’s shown her true colors, because even the Republicans are starting to not want to be associated with her.

  38. bagladey says:

ROFL, I thought the character in the still shot was a caricature of Sarah Palin, with the Merlin robe and the beehive taller than the tallest Alaskan peak.

  39. lucy2 says:

Agree with your post, Jayna. Also with those who’d be flattered to have Julianne play them, she’s lovely.

I actually know a guy who looks exactly like John McCain – it’s too bad he’s not an actor because he’d have that role locked down!

  40. mia girl says:

The hair, the robe… I finally figured it out!

Sarah Palin is a high commander from the planet Remulak! She has diguised her conehead very well!

  41. Eden says:

    @Relli
“Entertaining in her own right but dangerous in her messages and not exactly who she sells herself as”
SO well said, I totally agree.

She receives back exactly what she gives out and relishes the “abuse” so she can play her victim card.
With all of her rhetoric touting personal responsibility she takes none on the levels of what she thinks, says and does.

  42. Jamison McDaniels says:

Just another foolhearty attack on the Palins. More Michael Moore type fabrications I’m sure.

I was hoping Moore would get stomped on by T-Rex in the 3rd Jurrassic film.
She’s a waste of time in any venue.

Are they still ticked because Palin’s support for the Tea Party upset the Dem applecart?

  43. Feebee says:

Why? Was she hoping Meryl Streep would do it? She should be flattered but I think she’s so… so…. I can’t even spit it out….. It’s like she’s totally oblivious.

She’s a splinter in the thumb of America. Getting rid of her is going to hurt but the soothing relief will be worth it. We need a needle, a credit card and some tweezers.

  44. Annaloo says:

Weel, personally, I think she should be flattered..but she’s not. She’s a Professional Victim and this act is getting old.

Look, for those who would defend her : I know she had Tina Fey rumble her image, but this is Julianne Moore– a whole different genre of performer. The least Sarah could have said was “Well, let’s wait and see.” She can’t even lead by example. At least she could have had the good sense to treat Julianne the way she’s always squawking how she wishes she was treated by the media. Sarah, when you point fingers, realize there are three pointing right back at you.

Sarah Palin is SO quick to slam people. She belongs on Reality TV, not the White House. All this now makes me realize that– even though I have my issues with Obama today — I was right not to vote for her and McCain.

  45. original kate says:

    is sarah wearing a snuggie?

  46. Annaloo says:

Oh, and since it is Sarah… let me just say this:I am SICK of people complaining of “the LIBERAL MEDIA”

    This is an IMAGINARY ENEMY.

Look, folks, you have 24 hours in a day… in that day, you can read the New York Times, watch Fox News, listen to BBC then go online and read the National Review. Heck, you can also check out Pravda and Al-Jazeera too.

WHAT LIBERAL MEDIA??? Who the heck is the Liberal Media — someone who doesn’t adhere to your brand?

  47. Anti-icon says:

I can’t wait to see Julianne’s performance, because she is awesome. As for Palin, what the hell is she wearing?!?! (can’t be bothered to comment about her comments, because they are too asinine to consider, as always.)

  48. the original bellaluna says:

So, basically the same way we deal with Sarah & the rest of the Palins then?

  49. Kim says:

Even a complete liberal can see that Sarah Palin is slammed by the liberal media (yes it exists and yes the majority of media outlets are liberal). She is no rocket scientist and is not, in my opinion, presidential or even vice presidential material but i think she is smarter and has done alot more for her country than she is given credit for.

I just dont like hate wagons of any kind – liberal or Republican. People need to form their own opinions and gather facts on their own not just jump on the hate band wagon because everyone else is. That is dangerous for Democracy.

  50. bondbabe says:

    Yes, Annaloo, I agree–Professional Victim.

Palin should feel flattered that a movie is even being made about her in the first place; but Palin, being Palin, has to take this as though she’s a victim. Well then, honey, you shouldn’t have entered into the public arena in the first place!!!

Now I’m puzzled as to whether I will see this movie or not. I’m not a fan of the subject matter to begin with ([shudder]), but I want to see how “Ignorance with an Up-Do” will be portrayed by Julianne Moore.

  51. TaylorB says:

#49 (sorry I can’t read your name it is over the #)

The general dislike for Ms Palin is not ‘liberal’ or ‘conservative’ it is fairly universal at this point. Here are some comments from well respected conservative columnists…

“Asked if the GOP would remain the party of ideas if Palin captures the nomination, (George) Will said: “The answer is emphatically no.”

“Palin’s politics of grievance and group identity, according to these critics, is a betrayal of conservative principles.”

“conservative intelligentsia” also “fear that her rise would represent the triumph of an intellectually empty brand of populism and the death of ideas as an engine of the right.”

Columnist Charles Krauthammer, … noted that “there’s healthy and unhealthy populism,” and there is concern about the rise of the latter.

“When populism becomes purely anti-intellectual, it can become unhealthy and destructive,” said Krauthammer.”

It isn’t just the liberals who think she is a general disappointment, her conservative brothers and sisters are seriously doubting her as well. This isn’t the ‘lamestream’ media or the ‘liberal media’ saying these things, these are some of the best and brightest conservative commentators out there. Even Ailes is displeased with her at this point. There is a huge difference between being relatable to the public and dumbing things down with platitudes and inflamitory rhetoric and that is not going unnoticed by the GOP.

  52. ordinarygirl86 says:

Palin should be DELIGHTED that someone as beautiful and talented as Juliannne Moore has chosen to play her in a film. Because simply put Julianne is TOO beautiful to play her!

  53. Bodhi says:

This movie isn’t just about Sarah (thank God), its about the whole campaign.

  54. huh says:

Did she just age 20 years? When did she turn 78??

And LOL at this: WTF IS SHE WEARING? That’s like some wizard costume for crazy bitches.

  55. Cherry Rose says:

If Sarah Palin gets this riled up now, on real or imagined negative press about her and her family, imagine what it would have been like if she had been vice-president or president.

We’d be lucky if anything had gotten done, what with her having to stop and call out on everyone who manages to say something that is not to her liking.

  56. TaylorB says:

    Cherry Rose,

I agree. Why any conservative would hitch their wagon to this thin skinned, silly, lightweight candidate is beyond me, she is so out gunned even by the fairly weak group of GOP potentials it is sad. I have said it before and I will say it again, Jesse Ventura has more political experience than she does, he was not only a mayor of a pretty large city but a full term Gov of a much more populous state than AK.

Can you imagine if she was elected POTUS and was ‘heaven forbid’ criticized by the media???? EVERY SINGLE DAY ALL ACROSS THE GLOBE! Like Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama were/are? She would stick out the bottom lip and pout like a petulant child, whining about the ‘lamestream’ media picking on her or her family, or some such idiotic nonsense.

There is no way in creation the GOP will allow her to run, they are not stupid.

  57. REALIST says:

That wingnut should be infinitely grateful that an actress of such caliber is playing her, although I confess I do NOT get the casting.
I assume Tina Fey was not available. But I suppose she is more an impersonator than an actress, albeit a brilliant impersonator.
Really, I would prefer no movie at all. No free advertising for Sarah!!!

  58. Faye says:

Palin’s upset that Julianne is playing her because she knows she’s a fabulous actress and is going to make Palin look like the fool she is.

Also I CANNOT stand Hannity. Pompous windbag. He has two facial expressions: smug and righteously indignant. Ugh.

  59. CB Rawks says:

    Damn well said, Faye.

  60. Jamison McDaniels says:

The liberal asylum must be full because that’s all we have running around this site are distraught libs that can’t stand the fact that Palin has made a real big impression on American politics to the point that the Dems got roughed up, to put it mildly, in the last mid-term elections. And she makes Julianne Moore look like a sailor when you compare their looks.

  61. original kate says:

“i think she is smarter and has done alot more for her country than she is given credit for.”

@#49 (sorry, can’t see your name): like what? like her insanely popular “roll to a stop!” protest that supposedy happened this weekend, except nobody did it? or criticizing michelle obama’s fit kids campaign when she has no ideas of her own? or putting crosshairs over politicans she doesn’t like? or twitting ceaselessly, even under assumed names so she can agree with herself? as for her supposed intelligence, all you have to do is listen to her speak to have that theory blown out of the water. i have never seen anyone whose communications are so steeped in anacoluthia as to be near gibberish. this is a woman who answers questions with statements like “oh, yeah – that was obama’s WTF? moment.” WTF, indeed.

  62. mia girl says:

@ Jamison McDaniels aka Sarah (or whichever one of the Palins is using this fake name to post)… you really need to learn to take criticism and listen to other people’s POV.

Plus when, you, I mean Sarah wears an outfit like that, she really is the one who should be in an “asylum”… Julianne Moore has nothing to worry about!

  63. Quercus says:

What’s amazing to me is how she demonstrates a more and more complete mastery of Suck as time goes by. It is truly a thing to behold.

  64. Macheath says:

    @Jamison McDaniels
It’s perfectly fine to like Sarah Palin. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. But, dang, you don’t have to lie!

  65. arock says:

she looks like kyles mom form south park.

how much would it cost to buy her an electric collar and fence in alaska?

  66. arock says:

@ jamison- i hear The Catholic League has an entrainment page now. let me know how it is…

  67. hatekyle says:

i’d pick chelsea handler to play jennifer anniston, and jennifer anniston to play chelsea handler. oh, am i in the wrong thread? lmao.

  68. sandy says:

please make this nightmare that is palin go away already, what is wrong with this world that she is considered important? uninformed, no class hack! @-hatekyle lol, someone is delusional about the power they think this person has, oh well, so is she so they belong together.

  69. Chris says:

I wonder if there’re any film makers out there contemplating making a film that casts a conservative politician in a positive light. It’d be an interesting point of difference because political films are usually made from the liberal point of view. However, I’m not saying a positive film should be made about Palin.

  70. Catherine says:

Why would Julianne want to play her anyway?

  71. Angel says:

LMAO. First comment makes this post. HAHAHAHA.

  72. Charlotte says:

omg jenna, i think i love you!

  73. snapnhiss says:

    She’s really not aging well.

  74. Magsy says:

She should count her blessings. Honestly a drag queen should be playing her.

  75. um says:

Um, Game Change is not a novel. It is non-fiction. Whereas a novel, is fiction.

  76. Dean Millisor says:

Hey Nathan,I have the same tablet and I upgraded 3.2 to ICS as soon as you said its out. touchwood, I have not been facing a single issue. The browser works fine even with the maximum tabs opened. It used to crash on 3.2 sometimes, butit never crashes now. No start up issues, nothing. And as for responsiveness, I think its almost at par with ipad now, which is saying something for android (it still has a long way to go though).

  77. Saul Albrittain says:

To be honest I really don’t like the Cloud at all, I have to admit I’ve only used it once and I didn’t like it at all. Although I didn’t give as fair a trial as I could have done really. It took me a long long time to get used to iTunes. The fact that its dependant on the internet to work puts me off a great deal as I do a lot of travelling and often don’t have the internet available to me.Harriet recently posted..Mobile Phone Exchange

Ironically, I found this page while searching for a review of SMEStorage. I was looking over their site and it certainly does look like an interesting service. Do you know anyone who has used or reviewed it? I’d like to know how well it performs for a “real” user.
