  1. I’ll be the first to say it, “Enough is enough, find another shtick already.” It was cute for first couple of times.

  2. This is the funniest SNL has been in years. Love Miss Fey!

  3. I respectfully disagree, V. I think Fey’s portrait is more popular than the politician. And anything that feeds into the cartoon that Palin is basically a moron with catchphrases is good in my book.

  4. My worry is more that she’ll succeed in making Palin quirky/zany - even loveable - and people will warm towards her. It could backfire. 8O

  5. Never heard of ol No Talent Tina until she played Palin. How can that plain mousey drudge of a woman play the flawless beauty Sarah, ugh.
Yeah, change the record…nothing you do can change Sarah’s growing popularity. No one with any sense watches SNL any more, it hasn’t been funny for years.
Oh goody Tina will write her memoirs. I was nothing until I slapped a wig on my flaking head and played Sarah Palin. She made me Somebody, she made me a celebitchy. End of story.

  6. G, yeah, there’s always the possibility it could backfire, like it sort of did with Dubya/Will Ferrall.

But I think Fey just stepped into the void left by Palin’s lack of engagement with the media. I think it hurts Palin. Perhaps that’s what makes me an optimist.

  7. @Boot - I think you’ve mixed them up. Fey is the woman who was well-known and well-loved for being one of the funniest and most talented women of a generation.

Palin was almost completely unknown outside of Alaska snowbillies, and has proven to be a moron who’s stupidity is dragging down her ticket more than McNasty’s intemperate, incoherent ramblings.

  8. Madonna’s not drunk—the ‘roids wore off, that’s all!

I call BS on the Silverman story.

Damn! Honor’s cute little punkin head is bigger than her Mama’s!! JK! She’s…sweet!

    aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa:

I’m with Kaiser on this one all the way around - Boot, Tina Fey has had a successful career for a long time now. She’s got notable credits in acting, producing and writing. She wrote & starred in Mean Girls, a movie which skyrocketed Lindsey Lohan to fame and her show, 30 Rock, has won Best Comedy Emmy for 2 years in a row now. She’s got more talent in her little finger than Palin has intelligence in her entire being!

  11. I can’t believe Palin has money (EARNED)…how can someone so dumb earn 6 figures a year, other than an actor, musician, athlete….”Nu-CULAR” really???

  12. The left has spoken comrade. You will find Tina Fey intelligent and amusing and you will find Sarah Palin an idiot or else they will ridicule you with their smug superiority and hit you with the Karma of the sun-always-shines-out-of-Obama’s-orafice. It’s interesting how sexism is tolerated and hate promoted by those who deem themselves “enlightened” mainly by themselves.

  13. Love Tina, always have. She is good at portraying Palin, hit’s it straight on.

Agree with Dante here, a bit much. Agree Mr. T.

Now you are criticising her accent? C’mon people grow up, you’re better than that  aren’t you? Maybe I’m wrong.

    JaundiceMachine:

I played the “Maverick” drinking game at home during the real debate (with generic beer). My girlfriends and I were shit-faced and screaming at the tv by the end.

Who says the youth doesn’t care about politics?

(PS - Where the hell did she get her accent from? My dad lived in both Alaska and the Upper Midwest, and he speculates she’s trying to appeal to the Heartland by talkin’ like us, don’t ya know?)

  17. What is sexisim? When a woman is an idiot, and you are too political polite to call out the fact. That’s sexism.

Yes, I am a woman and I call out an idiot when I see one.

The fact that Americans went that far to defend this obviously unqualified woman to run the most important election in this country is simply terrifying.

No need for foreign terrorists. We have our own in the backyard — it’s called “Moron”.

  18. im not picking sides at all, but i have to say that the nuclear/nucular arguement is getting OLD. people have accents and colloquialisms. let it die people, let it die.

  19. I’m amazed people are taking so personally (or even politically) what is just normal comedy for a show like SNL. Jason (can’t remember how to spell his last name…I keep wanting to write Suduku!)did a good job as Joe Biden.
It’s just that Palin fell into Tina Fey’s lap. Fey looks a lot like her and Palin has such a distinctive way of speaking and behaving, she is a comedic gift for SNL. They barely have to write anything.
There is nothing wrong with (to use the British expression) “taking the piss out” of politicians–I think too many people (particularly in the media) do not give the US voters enough credit for knowing the difference between reality and entertainment. You can laugh at Sarah Palin (and Biden, McCain and Obama) and still respect them.
