Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Maddox and Pax out in New Orleans

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt toured a housing project in the lower ninth ward yesterday and spoke to residents. Their two oldest sons, Maddox, 7, and Pax, who turns five next month, were with them. Angelina was holding Pax, who seemed tired and was sucking his thumb. Angelina and the boys then headed over to a nearby playground. Pax and Maddox played in the light drizzling rain while mom Angelina looked on.

Yesterday Brad Pitt announced that his Make it Right project has raised enough money to build 6 more homes in New Orleans, to bring the total number of homes to 90. They hope to build 150 homes in the next few years. When asked if the charity project was his first priority, Pitt is quoted as saying that his family is first, but that “love of my family brings me here.”

  2. Not trying to start an argument, but I think Maddox is still too young to be putting bleach in his hair. Maybe a non-toxic blue or purple would be OK, but not bleach. Lookit what a good big brother he is though, helping the adorable Pax off the horse. I bet he rules the roost at home, as the big bro and eldest.

  3. Lord have mercy, that child needs a haircut.

  4. Elisha - it’s not necessarily bleach. Just temporary hair colour spray? Wash in, wash out, comes in all colours, could just be that.
(Not that I care one way or another, their business!)

  5. I cant believe that Mike Holmes is there! Too funny! Anyway, Aj looks amazing as usual……I agree about the bleach too. Its not a very wise thing to do to a child.

  6. @ elisha

as a hair model for over ten years for lots of “fancy” salons and infamous product lines, i can safely say that today’s bleach is nothing like it used to be!

the company i work for uses a protein found in milk in its bleach so it’s not as harsh! not only that, but i am sure that if bleach is used for Mad, the colorist would never apply to the scalp, just the hair so he has “roots”.

i highly doubt Ang or Brad would willingly harm their child for the sake of fashion! unfortunately, the same cannot be said for all those out there who are bleaching and coloring their pets hair on a whim!!

  7. Yeah, and Angie has been putting crap in Maddox’s hair for YEARS - if it hasn’t killed him by now, I think it’s safe to say the kid’s doing fine.

    These pics are so cute!

  8. You all crack me up. Saying that one kid needs a hair cut and how dare them bleach the other childs hair. One thing that I have noticed about Angie and Brad is that theirs kids heritage is so utterly important to them. It is of importance to allow the children to keep that heritage with them as they grow. You have no clue if any part of their hair and the way they wear it is a part of their culture. They are happy, healthy and smiling young kids. Who cares about their hair. They are precious and are loved extremely unconditional. So dont go judging unless you know what their culture is like.

  9. Bekkie: I didn’t realize that it is Cambodian custom to give their kids bleached mohawks.

Seriously, though, the kids look cute and happy. All that matters.

  10. It’s only hair. I can’t believe how people keep going on about it in these posts. The kids are happy and that’s the main thing.

  12. in fact…people in asian countries do bleach their hair a LOT, but i won´t call that tradition  i say it´s maddox´s own sense of style. he´s a real cutie.

  16. I really love the work that Brad is doing with this charity program. I’ve donated money to it in the past and if I can ever spare some more (starving student here) I will donate again. It’s nice to see results.

  17. They make me so happy.
So beautiful and doing good work.

How can people hate them? Seriously. If any of us could be this fortunate.

  18. The weather was pretty bad yesterday in New Orleans, it was pouring when I was over there in the afternoon. That could be why they only had the two older kids with them. Or maybe they just didn’t want to go, I know my kid had her own mind when she was 2 and 3, she knew when she didn’t want to go do something, and maybe they just didn’t want to make them.

Or maybe they were being used in some satanic ritual at the moment and couldn’t get free…….

  19. To Elisha: It’s not bleach. It’s a product called DYEHARD. You can google it. It’s sort of like a mousse that comes in a can. You glop it into your hair and it shampoos right out. It comes in all sorts of crazy colors — red, orange, blue, white, green, yellow, purple, pink, silver metallic and gold metallic. The kids have a lot of fun with it. It’s non-toxic and doesn’t harm anything.

  20. I love how she never wears these stupid over the top clothes just to play with her kids or go out and do errands. No war paint and she’s not all done up (doesn;t need to either but still) and just has fun. She looks low maintenance even if she isn’t. It’s a compliment.
I think it’s cool they let the kids play around with their hair and obv. encourage self expression. Laid back parents.

  21. That picture of Maddox pointing the tip of that umbrella at Pax’s face freaks me out. Looks like in the next pic, with Pax in his boxing pose, that Angelina is intervening. I don’t know if the pictures are in order, but it looks like she took the umbrella away, and then Maddox protested, and then he is back playing with it and it pointing at Brad and Pax when she has her back turned. LOL, Boys will be boys. (Though that umbrella looks like it could be dangerous, I definitely wouldn’t give it to the kids to play with).

  22. Aw! Maddox has Chuck Taylors! Pax is cute as the dickens, too. They all look really happy.

I like that the kids seem to do normal kid stuff. They get dirty, they eat junk food, they wear scruffy play clothes, they play at the park. Damn, do you think Brad and Angie would adopt ME? I’m a cute redheaded Polish chick, I could add some Eastern Europe street cred to the brood….
