Avril Lavigne’s two year marriage to fellow Canadian musician Deryck Whibley, 28, might be in trouble. While his 24 year-old wife is on tour Deryck is said to be partying up a storm and was even seen looking way too familiar with another woman. Deryck was even seen holding another woman’s hand at the popular celebrity hotspot Villa, where he’s often gone with Avril.
On Oct. 2 - the same night Avril was performing in Lijang, China - Deryck was spotted out with a statuesque brunette beauty.
“It seemed as if Deryck and his woman couldn’t keep their hands off of each other,” an insider at Villa nightclub told The Enquirer.
“They huddled at a private table, and Deryck had his arm around her and was holding her hand.”
The Ontario natives - who wed in July 2006 - have been virtually leading separate lives, according to the insider.
The two have tried relying on long distance phone calls and e-mailing to hold their troubled relationship together. But while 24-year-old Avril has been touring the world, Deryck has back-burned his career in favor of partying, say sources.

The Enquirer goes on to detail an incident in late August which Deryck and his friends nearly got in a fight at a club. Avril was said to be upset about it, and Deryck went off to Japan to join her on tour. He ended up going out to the clubs in Tokyo while she had to work.
This incident with the other woman happened after that, so it’s possible they had a blowout at that time. Unless that woman was his sister he has no excuse for holding her hand and putting his arm around her. He’s got to know he’s going to get caught at a popular club where he can be seen like that and you wonder if he wants to get found out or if they’ve already broken up. Avril really gets on my nerves with her attitude, but she’s softened up a bit lately - or at least she’s shut up a little - and she doesn’t deserve that kind of public humiliation.

I think it’s probably fortunate that they are breaking up before they had a chance to have a child that might have looked like either one of them or, worse, a combination of the two.

Sorry, but if there’s ONE woman I can think of who deserves to be publicly humiliated like that, it’s Avril. Think of how snotty she is in interviews, you know she’s at least that bad at home. Vile little thing, she is.

They also got married VERY young. While some young couples can manage to make it work, it is a really tough thing to honor your vows while still maturing and growing into who you are. I hate to say it, but I’m not surprised that this is happening to them. Hopefully they’ll learn from it.

No, actually, there wouldn’t be pictures because Villa is a private club, and there is a strict no camera rule. Paparazzi perches outside, so they could have easily left at seperate times, and seeing as neither of them are particularly famous, no one would have noticed.

Pure schadenfreude on my part with this story. Never liked Avril Lavigne and liked her even less after she sat down and gave interviews espousing her world view. She’s like Gwyneth Paltrow (nose stuck in the hair, talentless), except younger, less personable, less style sense, and more minutely packaged. Ughh. Avril Lavigne = hay, sticks, and plaid.

omg! i <3 Avril, I’ve been a fan of hers for a couple of years…i do agree she seems kind of put off in interviews, but i would be too if i was her…always having to answer the same stuff…but i like her music over all of the other young pop/disney people. i also like some songs from sum 41..i don’t think they’re breaking up.

Anony! Whatever you do DO NOT MOVE TO SASKATCHEWAN. I’m in Regina right now, I grew up here, I leave tomorrow thank God. But it’s the crime capital of canada, the chlamydia capital, the meth capital, and Saskatchewan has the highest concentration of kkk members outside of the bible belt.

I’ve lived in Regina all my life and I’ve never met or seen a KKK member…give me a break. As far as the crime goes, you don’t see it unless you live in North Central. We have about 7 murders a year. It’s not the greatest place…it’s cold and ugly as shit, but it’s got decent restaurants and nice people.

I have lived in Saskatchewan for 20 years and no I would not move to Regina, however there are a few really nice towns in and around there! I have also never met a kkk member so I do not know where that is coming from….

Look guys, i read over some of your comments . . . i realize that avril can be bitchy in interviews, but there is no way in hell any one would ever deserve anything like that. Think about it, the person you love and trust, and you think you know, turns around and cheats on you ?!? she has every right to be sad, and dont you dare go and say that shes talentless or pick on her ! thats just plain mean, you heartless people! True avril fans will ALWAYS stand by her, and even if you dont like her, put your self in her shoes . . .

I remember actually not minding Avril Lavigne when she came out…just indifferent…wouldn’t buy the album but…indifferent..
As time wore on (and it does tend to wear on when inundated with crappy singles) and I saw her in interviews, I really started to resent her snotty attitude and unintelligent answers. The cherry on top was won due to her obvous lack of a sense of humour.
I rarely hate celebrities and think it a character flaw on my part that I actually hope her career soon fizzles out. I know it’s immature but I think that this unintelligent, snotty, talentless girl needs to learn a few life lessons.

I’m Canadian and must say that like any place, the entertainment value and quality of life tends to differ from city to city.
I live in Montreal but am originally from near Toronto. I really like both places.

This is not news for some people in Toronto. I knew a guy who is friends with Whibley and he told me he (Whibley) has been running around on Avril for awhile. Story goes Whibley was talking to Avril on the phone in a hotel room while being ’serviced’ by another chick.
For some reason, celebs get up to a lot of nonsense in T.O. because they think no-one will notice, or we’re too polite to say anything. Well, both points are true sort of. We definitely don’t have the paparazzi situation as in other places but the talk flies.
