Last month, we told you how Madonna acted like a complete bitch to up-and-coming British singer James Morrison, who approached her to say hello and tell her he was a fan. Now, Madge is having a go at Swedish pop singer Robyn.
Madonna is a demanding diva even to her peers. The Swedish pop star Robyn was psyched when the Material Mom invited her to open for a handful of her European concerts but quickly found out there are rules. Robyn told her hometown Swedish paper that she and her crew were told “not to approach Madonna, not to speak to Madonna and, above all, no pictures . . . I hadn’t expected any glamour, but it’s strange that they assume that the first thing you’re gonna do is run after Madonna and ask for an autograph. My worst nightmare would be to turn into Madonna . . . Madonna is constantly chasing the latest trends.”
While I wouldn’t exactly call Robyn one of Madonna’s “peers” – honestly, I’ve never even heard of her – Madonna must have thought something of her music to invite her on tour. To turn around and institute rules like this must have been insulting. At this point, is there anyone who would even want Madonna’s autograph or picture anymore? Her attitude has turned off a lot of people who used to call themselves fans. I think her ego is getting increasingly out of control the older and richer she gets.
In other Madonna news, Howard Stern revealed yesterday on his radio show that he ran into Yankees’ third baseman Alex Rodriguez recently, who was hanging around with none other than Madge’s best friend Ingrid Caesarez. The pair were photographed having lunch over the weekend. Maybe Madge is trying to throw us off the A-Rod affair trail?

Just who is Madonna anyway? Some girl with a so-so voice who did a couple of decent songs and shocked a lot of people and now she’s a queen? I don’t think so.
Like to buy her for what she’s worth and sell her for what she thinks she’s worth.
they say when you get close up to her, you can see all the work that’s been done on her face. too bad she can’t fix her nasty hypocritical personality. i don’t see anything spiritual about treating other musicians like dirt. it wasn’t all that long ago that she was a nobody. in my book, she still is. a big fat zero. a nobody. a phoney. if she was in the least bit spiritual, she would donate money to the needy of the world. woops — too selfish for that.
Um, you don’t know who Robyn is? Where were you in the 90s? She’s had a nice career comeback in the works, too, thanks to Perez Hilton’s love of her.
She’s lucky she has fans. She should be more grateful. I never have understood her appeal. She had some catchy tunes way back, yes, but her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. “Ashely Olsen look” LOL. Good one. She should touch up her roots when going out for events. She seems like an egotistical control freak.

I used to love Robyn!! If I had concert tickets I would sit for Robyn then leave. I don’t theres really anything to Madonna. She was better all those years ago when she first started but she’s long since tanked. Talk about self importance.

I liked her all right in the 80’s when she was edgy and always changing her look. Now she’s just muscular, and mean!
You’d think with all her $$ she’d hire a hairdresser…or at least buy a mirror. Those dark roots are not trendy; they are just trashy looking. And that frizzed-out over-bleached look is just not flattering on her, or anyone else, for that matter.
Yuck – especially roots with a middle part.
I’d flick lit cigarettes at her, that’s not in the rules, so it must be okay.
AP makes a good point. Perhaps all of these young musicians should respect their elders and make sure Cranky Grandma’s wearing her diapers to bed.

Robyn is amazing. Hew new album isn’t getting much play in the US but it’s great . I’m sorry to hear that Madonna was such a bitch to her.
You should check out Robyns music – she’s infinatly better than Madonna! She’s not that known anymore outside of Scandinavia, label troubles and what not. But her latest albums are amazing, she has really grown since the 90s, unlike Madonna.
Check out her gnarled claws of death in the top picture. They were made to pinch the fat of pretty boys and judge who is succulent enough for the nights feast.

I think when you’ve been around as long as M and achieved as much as she has, you’re supposed to have irrational demands. Remember Van Halen and the “no green M&M’s’ demand? I think sometimes Celebs ask for ridiculous demands simply because they can.
If I were a big Celeb, I’d demand Extra hot wings but only those mini drumsticks. None of those creepy wing bits. Think about it. Outrageous demands could be fun!

I respect Madonna’s contribution to music yada yada yada. However, Robyn is awesome (check out her cover of the Teddybears’ song “Cobra Style” – awesome) and I’d prefer to listen to her music over Madonna’s any day.
