You might not know it by now, but a superstar is being formed. And it’s not Waity Katy! It’s her younger sister, Pippa. For several years now, Pippa has been on the London scene, making waves and dating any eligible aristocratic bachelor she could find. They say that Pippa is much pushier, much more organized, much more ambitious than her sister. Although, in retrospect, Kate’s nine-year ambition shows a lot of will-power, doesn’t it? Could Pippa wait like that? Probably not.
These are new photos of Pippa from last night – she was exiting an engagement party for Holly Branson, the daughter of Richard Branson (Virgin Air, Virgin Records, etc). Richard Branson really wanted his daughter to get with one of the princes, Harry or William, but she didn’t really care about that. She prioritized her education, and I believe she’s an MD…? But Holly and the princes are still tight, and that whole crowd is very… what’s the word…? Incestuous. They all date each other and hook up and party, all in a tightly contained little group. So somehow Pippa, the sister of the soon to be Princess William, Duchess of Biscuits, got an invitation and she ended up being the most photographed lady as people left the party. Of course.
And Pippa eats it up. Even more than Waity, I think. Keep your eye on this one, because I think she’s got a wild streak and I think she’s got a healthy sense of competition. I also think she seems like one of those relentlessly active, upbeat, talk-a-mile-a-minute girls. Those girls bug.
Also: did you hear that The Queen FINALLY met the Middletons? Like, it only happened THIS WEEK. Hilarious!
By the way – we are officially ONE WEEK away from the wedding. Some of you have asked what kind of coverage we’re going to be doing. I know I’m going to be getting up at some ungodly hour (four a.m.?!?) and I’ll likely be live blogging or open posting stuff. Our issues are going to be when the photos come in – hopefully, our photo agencies will have photos very quickly, so we can talk about and analyze the dress, which (my opinion) will likely be super-boring (Waity’s M.O.). CB says she’s going to get up early with me, so fingers crossed. Maybe we’re try to embed some kind of live video feed…? Perhaps.

I have serious leg envy…
Aren’t they know as the Wisteria Sisters? Pretty and climbing. It’s actually pretty impressive that they’ve been able to break into this world considering their family’s pretty humble background. Their family has “new” money-they’re not part of this world. Pippa is not nearly as pretty as Kate-but she’s way more vivacious.
I’m not trying to be mean but does she have a bit of bell’s palsyon the left side of her face? Or a lazy left eye maybe?
Well, she is definitely the ‘prettier sister’ but tough luck for her – she lost out to her sister big time in the Who-Ya-Gonna-Marry sweepstakes. Chica snagged the Man who will be King. Boom. Done.
And it is absurd that the Queen just met these people. I read somewhere that she wasn’t supposed to meet Kate until the day of the wedding. What? This is what kills me about ‘royalty.’ Stop being so freaking snooty. If you care about and love your grandson, why would you wait so long to meet the woman he’s going to marry and her family? Ridiculous.

And are you people serious about Pippa’s legs? Has no one noticed the pantyhose she is wearing? They look horrible. I never wear dresses because my legs only look good in nylons and that went out of style in the 80’s so I have to wear pants. Nylons look cheap and tacky. I love her dress though and I think that is just a bad photo, I think she is more attractive than that. Though neither “Wisteria Sister” is an antitode, they are not exactly beautiful either.

It’s all in the eyes. The sisters practically look the same except Kate has prettier and softer eyes while her’s look small and beady.
I actually think Kate’s been looking better since she lost a ton of weight. Unfortunately when she’s at her normal weight, her face tends to lean more on the puffy side whereas when she’s underweight, her features pop out more.

I much prefer that this girl took forever to marry that prince, that what happened to Diana, wh very young, naive and romantic, went into a marriage that was not only a disaster itself (being her older husband in love with someone else), but also for the pressures and demands for her Wales princess role, not only the public work, but the press attention, and the people in suits aroun them , the “court” or whatever they are called.
This girl Kate, is much better prepared for what is it expected from her, even when she was not a neighbor of the }Windsors (Diana was a neighbor at some royal house, knew them since childhood, her sister went out with charles, and still she could not cope).
Kate seems to now know what to expect, so those years of breaking up and restarting their relationship, of waiting, will be for her advantage.

The British tabs have been claiming for a long time that Pippa and Kate have always had some kind of sisterly competition to see who could be the thinnest/prettiest and that Pippa is much more ambitious, ruthless and social-climbing than Kate. I think it was the Mail a while back that had a quote about how Pippa would only date rich hotties with titles, or something along those lines. Not surprising, given their mother!

The Middleton girls have great legs. This younger sister could look a lot better with a makeover. Her makeup is too harsh, ages her and makes her look hard. Her eyebrows are too low and could use a bit of styling. Her hair is nice and shining but needs to be cut and styled to suit and soften her face.
I think Pippa looks better in side shots and Kate looks better when they photograph her face full on.

This may sound odd, but I feel a bit sorry for Pippa. When I see pics of siblings of celebrities, I often feel compassion for them-they’re almost never as attractive and they rarely have the fame or the money that their sibs have. Can you imagine having to spend most of your life living so publicly in your sibling’s shadow? Having people ask you about your brother/sister all of the time? Having your appearance compared unfavorably in the media? Yeah, I know if you’re a sibling of a celebrity (and you aren’t on bad terms with your brother/sister) you get special privileges but that would not be worth it for me. I hope for Pippa’s sake that she’s as self-confident as she’s depicted to me-she’ll need to be to withstand having a princess for a sister.

I have seen multiple young women with wildly different clothing styles, all wearing nude-for-them hose. And they looked good! This is new in the last year or so. (I think it’s because they have no mental baggage about nylons, and it’s new and different to them.)

I’ve been watching TV spots about the royals this week, esp. Prince William and Catherine Middleton. I LOVE them! I think they will do a world of good for England and the Western World. Since Princess Di and Mother Theresa died we’ve been missing the feeling of greater goodness in the world. William and Kate offer hope.
They are both beautiful, and feel authentic and warm. And they appear to be truly in love with each other. I don’t think it’s right to call her “Waity” – she loves the man, naturally she didn’t go hook up with another. And they were too young before, and he could have had anyone on the planet. So they did the right thing, both of them, and then they chose each other. It doesn’t feel a speck like cold ambition to me.
Let’s rally, people! With all the crap going down, let’s give these two our support and blessings. Hopefully they will make the world a better place.

Pippa is wearing shiny pantyhose like the style that cheerleaders wear and this is OK in my book. The nylon era seems to be back in the US and has been for a while now. Women like Rihanna, Lady Gaga et al wear them all the time now. The shine on Pippa’s hose enhances the look of her legs. How is that shine any different from the baby oiled look that some women went for (Katy Couric anyone?)?
The bare leg era was a nasty one because too many women who posses less than perfect legs were doing without hose. Too many women were committing the crime of varicose veins, stubble, cellulite, uneven bronzer applications and pastiness. Luckily, the nylons have seemingly come back and solved this issue. The women in my office mostly all wear them again after having not seen a pair for years. Thank god for that! Their nasty, bare legs were terrible to look at.
