OH. MY. GOD. Angelina is NOT wearing a sack dress, y’all. Of course, although it’s not a glittery sack (as the prophets had foretold), it’s still not technically a good look. Here are photos from the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Tree of Life. Brad was there. Sean Penn (and his crazy tomato face) were there. Jessica Chastain was there. And Brad’s lover Angelina was there, in this… I’m calling it “chocolate”. This chocolate, satin, formal ball gown. I would like to see the ball gown with ball-gown-appropriate hair, please. Because if she’s just going to wear her hair down and kind of scraggly, just throw on a motherchucking sack dress.
I just saw that Angelina’s gown in Versace. I never would have guessed it, honestly. Usually Angelina + Versace = MAGIC, but not so much here. I do like the chocolate color on her, but this is just… too satiny, too fussy for Angelina. This looks like something Eva Longoria would wear. That’s the PROBLEM. (PS… there’s a thigh-high slit in the mix too. Ordinarily, I would like that, but this dress is too much for Jolie).
Oh, and is it just me, or is Jessica’s yellow gown very reminiscent of the Ungaro gown Angelina wore several years ago? Right? Same shade of yellow and everything.

Well…it isn’t a sack dress, so we have to grade it on a curve. It’s also a color, so we have to give a point for that. I like that she’s doing something different, but it’s still not the best silhouette for her.
However, at least it isn’t ANOTHER motherchucking Marchesa on the Cannes red carpet.

I think she was going for a sedate look so as not to overshadow the movie. I love the color on her and I actually think the gown is beautiful but I don’t like that specific dress in brown. The close-ups I have seen of her face and earrings are stunning (surprise,surprise) and there are a few really cute shots of them holding hands.

The dress to me is kind of MEH. I like the make/style but for some reason I think the chocolate would go better with a blonde or maybe like you said, if her hair was up and not blending in with the dress.
I really love the order of these pics. There’s the one where Ginger is cheesing with Sean Penn and Brad is holding her hand and dragging her along like he’s trying to divert her. Immediately followed by Miss Ange throwing a look like, “uh, Brad, don’t get carried away. Don’t make me have to spank you”. Which is then followed by them reuniting and me imagining he’s saying, “Ange, you know you my boo. You know you are the only woman for me. Mother of my mini-basketball team of children, love of my life!” And she’s slyly smiling thinking, “Oh please, I was just playing! I know you’re not going anywhere!” Then they’re together smiling for the camera followed by Brad beaming down at her like he just won 1st place and is holding his prize while Ange is looking like she’s so over it! LOVE it!

The dress actually isn’t that bad, but I think a necklace or some kind of jewelry, or her hair in an updo with fabulous earrings, would polish the look off. I think her emeralds would be perfect. But I do give her props for trying something different.

The shoes are dyed to match the dress, which makes it even more bridesmaid-y… but I still love it. (Maybe because I’m an Angeloonie. Maybe because I’m glad she’s trying something different. Maybe because the slit makes me swoon.) Mostly, though, any dress that isn’t hideous will look great on her. That face is really all you see, anyway.

Angelina is gorgeous enough to take more fashion risks and go for a little drama. This style/color is different and daring for her; therefore, I approve! She has been in a rut sine her pregnancy with the twins, which was the last time she wore some truly stunning dresses and colors.
Looks like Brad is experimenting, also…It appears that he is channeling a little Jack Nicholson!

I’ve never been a fan of AJ’s sartorial choices, and the design on this dress is meh for me, but omfg that colour looks stunning on her. Every now and again I see someone in a specific colour and think “ok, that person should only ever wear that colour every day forever” because it’s so flattering and suits so perfectly – this is my feeling about this dress on AJ. Her skin also looks perfect – would love to hear her routine. Heh. $$$$$

I like that dress and the colour looks good on her, but there’s something off, like she was just interested in wearing a beautiful gown, but forgot to fix the rest, especially the hair. The bustier is too large and I don’t really like that sort of bow on the side of the leg.

I know I’m in the minority, but I usually love Jolie’s style. When you look as exotic as she does, simple clothes are better. And I think the gowns always look very glamourous, very 1930′s silver-screen.
But boo to this. It looks like it’s from David’s Bridal. Also, it’s awfully wintry for May.

I really like the dress in general.. I liked the color..IMO it also happens to look good on her. Her skin is absolutely flawless. The only thing I wish she had done differently is her hair, it might of looked nicer had she put it up.

I adore this dress on Angelina. It hits her in all the right spots. It makes her look waisty, hippy, super-leggy and just plain vavavoom. She’s got a very straight-up-and-down, skinny figure (with just some boobs to balance) and this gown gives her a bombshell look. I think it is magic!
You’re right about the hair though, she could’ve brushed through it a little more carefully. But that’s just nitpicky

Exfoliate with baking soda, steam face 15-20 minutes, apply beaten eggwhites as a masque, rinse, moisturize well (the eggs are a little drying). repeat 2-3 times/week.
Best results of anything I have ever done. Costs less than a dollar. Skin is very smooth, very glowy, went from large pores to almost no pores after about 4 masques.

It’s cool she tried a new look, but give her a break-in she’s a 35 yr old mom of 6. Even when she was 20 on red carpets, she ALWAYS said that being comfortable was her priority- this type of honesty was what made everyone say that she was so “wild”. Now, everybody says they want to be comfortable…always a trendsetter! I think putting her hair up would have looked too formal- maybe a ponytail?

I think the dress could be pretty, but (and please know I mean no general offense to women with her body type) I think you need to be more Christina Hendricks, Penelope Cruz , Eva Mendes to pull it off. The problem is is that the dress is wearing her. And maybe some bronze sandals instead of dyed to match satin shoes…

I think AJ looks amazing in strapless dresses, she has the shoulders for them. I also really like the colour on her. I’m not sure I like the bottom part of the dress or not, but I do know that I don’t completely hate the dress…hmm.

She is a beautiful woman – no doubt. With that said she really stuggles with fasion. The last dress I remember that I thought was amazing was in Mexico promoting Salt – it was white. She looked amazing. this is like a prom dress gone wrong. She even has the dyed matching shoes.
I often wonder about how other famous people view them. For example penelope, johnny, sean etc., who make a point not to have their relationships shown on the red carpet. I know that they obviously will say nice things in interviews (they have to after all – it is show buxiness). But what they really say behind closed doors about them would be so interesting. What I was hoping for was Sean and Scar Jo. Now that would have been something. But of course Sean does not play that game. Neither does Johnny. To bad. I think though that because Angie and Brad play this game they get more press out of it. Without a significant other the press and attention is just not the same. I often wonder if as they age they will become more private and not use their personal relationship to sell movies. Obviously I would love to see Johnny and Vanessa do something sexy on the red carpet as well as penelope and her man (he is so hot). But they just don’t. Sad for us. Oh well I respect their choice.

I love the dress from behind. It would have been nicer with a better bustier, some minimal accessories (a big bracelet and necklace) and a great loose chignon.

She should make brown her go-to color instead of black. The brown makes her skin look healthier and less washed out. I like the color of the dress, and I like the ruffle and slit details, too. But I don’t like the fold-over top. I think that’s what makes it seem bridesmaid-y. Oh. And the shoes don’t help either. But overall, the dress is good! Much better than the frumpy nightmare she wore to the KFP2 photo call.
I have to admit I’m disappointed in her hair. She used to have really thick and shiny hair. It looks totally fug now. It’s lacklustre and bone-dry. It looks like she jumped out of the shower and let it air-dry for the premiere. Why couldn’t she style it? A little styling would have gone a long way with this dress. And her skin looks monotone, yes, but it’s so. damned. greasy. She’s got no color in her skin. No flush to her cheeks. It looks corpsey. I do like her brown smokey-eye, though. I’m a sucker for smokey-eye. I wear it myself all the time. Her jewelry is a little underwhelming, but I think it was wise to let the dress take center stage because the detailing of it is a little more on the busy side. The only other thing bothering me is that they didn’t take in the top. There are a few good inches between the boning and her actual boobs. That and her hair are the two things ruining this look for me. Otherwise, I like it.
As for Brad, he looks like he’s been experimenting with fake tanner. Next to Jolie he looks orange (or maybe he really IS still hitting it with his ex, and they’re taking lustful trips to mexico and alternately laying out and drinking margaritas. I kid, I kid!).

I love that dress on Jessica Chastain (spelling?). It doesn’t remind me of Jolie’s dress at all. It’s got more detailing and a key-hole in the front. All that seems to be similar is the color. That’s one of the looks on Jolie that I had no complaints about. Her dress, her hair and her makeup were awesome. She was too thin then (as she’s still a little too thin now), but the look was great! But Chastain looks like a goddess in that. I think it’s very well put-together.

The more I look at these pictures the more I’m disappointed. I was hoping for something more flattering, she made pretty good style choices on the previous Cannes red carpets. But in this case, don’t know, looks like the dress is wearing her and not vice versa. And the hair? Wavy darker hair would’ve been more appropriate for a gown like that. Fortunately she didn’t exceed with too much jewelry – she rarely does – and a simple bracelet and simple earrings of clear gemstones and gold are good enough for a dress like that, although the jewelry looks dated.
Finally, this is the first time I think her tattoos are trashy.

All I can say is that Angelina is stunning, and Brad just shows her off like a male peacock. WOW! What else can you say. It seems as if Angie took sometime off to do smething for herself because she started to look so homely and bag lady like. Someone up thread said she struggles with fashion..
I beg to differ. She doesn’t struggle at all. She wears what she wants/likes how she likes it and when. She has never bent to the current trend. Never tired to be anything other than what she is.
That to me is what a person embracing fashion does. They dance to their own tune. Her pictures on Cannes will be everywhere. Some will like it others not. But she will be talked about. and tomorrow she will be back in her usual outfit. Something comfortable. Never struggling just being herself.
I love that about her. Every designer would kill to have her wear their cloths. And when she does wear something it gets noticed. I will also note that most celebrity women are pretty much killing themselves wearing all kinds of whatever to get the attention she gets by walking in a room and not giving a shit.

I saw this on TV and she and Brad owned Cannes! The two of them, the dress, her skin, the chocolate colour, her hair, Brad’s look, the combined effect was totally amazing. I’ll bet the comments on this thread will outnumber all other actress on the Croisette right now.

I don’t mind the dress, though it would have been better in a jewel tone for her. I could do without the giant slit too, but overall I don’t think it’s that bad. Hair could use improvement though.

Love (almost) everything. The color is beautiful — and I’ve never seen her wearing brown before. The hair could look better, but at least she combed it.
If it wasn’t for those ruffles and folds, the dress would be perfect (even though I hate satin).

The shoes are dyed to match the dress, which makes it even more bridesmaid-y… but I still love it. (Maybe because I’m an Angeloonie. Maybe because I’m glad she’s trying something different. Maybe because the slit makes me swoon.) Mostly, though, any dress that isn’t hideous will look great on her. That face is really all you see, anyway.

You can set your watch by Maniston. Knowing Brad and Ange were going to be on the red carpet in Cannes I, along other people with brains, would try to guess what stunt Maniston would pull at the same time Brange gets huge press as Maniston always does. I thought maybe arrse in the air at Cabo? A picture of a male actor sticking his finger in her butt? A naked photo shoot with a barbie doll?
Maniston has sunk to new lows this time, just as I thought she couldn’t get any lower she has scraped the bottom of the barrell to compete attention with Brange by letting Huvesy tell the world that her beloved dog died (a few weeks ago mind you) on the same day Brange is on the red carpet in Cannes. This woman is sick.
Being an animal lover this especially gets my blood boiling. She is using the death of a beloved pet to try and take attention away from her ex husband and his partner of six years. I thought getting Chelsea Handjob to publicly call Ange a kkunt (because we know Maniston doesn’t have the guts to do so herself) was bottom of the barrel but this latest stunt takes the cake. Maniston is a disgrace.
I see the 20 plus years of therapy haven’t helped much.

I think she looks stunning as usual. I love the dress. I’ve seen other pics of it from farther away and when u get a look at the entire dress in one shot it really is amazing. I totally think Angie owns the dress. As for her hair, I think she would have looked too formal with it up, considering the dress, although a shine treatment and blow dry would have done wonders. I also think that jewellery is unnecessary, again because of the formality of the dress. As for the colour, I love the chocolate brown, although I never would have thought of it for Spring or Summer. That dress in a brighter colour would have made it overwhelming. Some posters suggested green, but Angie has worn green a lot, either in clothing or jewellery. This is a different look and one she does successfully.

She always look stunning,gorgeously beautiful..She can carry any style of fashioned dreeses,any she look amazingly beautiful..Slim,but with body shape,and flawless white skin. She look elegantly,even with simple hair style..no wonder Brad can’t take his eyes on her lady..She know what to dress in any occassion..and every eyes are with them. All I can say is a “Big WOW”!! She just knows how to pose. It is never over the top.. just easy not forced. She has perfect posture too. MAN I should have listened when my Mom kept saying sit up straight. She knows how to be photographed, how to showcase anything she is wearing..
I think she is wearing her jewelry. And I saw on a fan site that someone suggested it was a piece of jewelry Brad made for her the bracelet I think.. I think works because she never overdoes it. Never too much.

These still pictures do not do her any justice. but how do you get brown to jump off of a page?
Anyway, I just saw a 15 min. viewing of Brad and Angie in Cannes..and WOW. She OWNED the red carpet and the PAPs. it wasn’t eve her premiere. Brad was beaming, like he was saying “I’ve got the baddest chick on my arm!” It was just too sweet shen he kissed her in front of everyone.
The dress. Angies was strutting, making sure you saw the thigh high slit in the back. At one point, Brad stpped away so that more pictures can be taken of just Angie, and she showed the backside of the dress and looked over her shoulder. In that pose, you could see ALL her curves, her chest, her waist, the fabric was grabbing at her hips and her a**. With her pretty glowing against the chocolately dress, and her eyes looked awesome.
After Brad took pictures with the other two, he went back the downstairs to escort Angelina up the stairs..it was like Prince Charming went to get his Cinderella. The looks and gestures they were giving each other on the RC—they are still very much in love with each other.

My two cents: 1) Of course, Angeliena looks good, but those tats of hers COMPLETELY NEGATE what’s supposed to be “Hollywood Glamour,” in my humble opinion. Due to some movie stars’ ridiculous obsession w/tatoos, the glitz and glamour are all gone. I think tatoos are just plain cheap, & downright NASTY. The human body is beautiful w/out them! 2) What the hell is Brad Pitt doing? He’s purposely making himself look like shit. I know he’s filming a movie (w/the hairstyle), but why doesn’t he WASH his hair & blow it dry & let his beautiful hair SHOW?! And what’s up w/those black-rimmed shades?! They’re not doin’ him any favors. It almost seems since he’s been w/Angeliena that he’s uglied himself up. Is it because she only wants to be seen as “the pretty one,” I wonder?

This is one of the best dresses she has worn. It give her an hourglass shape, and she really hasn’t got a waist. Angelina is straight up and down, but this dress does the job in masking that very well.
Finally, she found a right dress.
Now she has to work on the colour aspect. Brown is so uber daggy and ordinary.
She should have gone for red.

you know she started out the evening with her hair up and glamorous looking, but giving hugs and kisses to all six kids before leaving the house took it’s toll on her up-do, and then, then brad was mauling her in the back seat of the limo on the way to the event, so by the time she got there, her hair was down, and she just couldn’t be bothered to put it back up. hugs and maulings by those she loves takes priority over a prissy hairdo everytime for ang.

If Angie looks great on any red carpet out come their little magnifying glasses. pressing their noses at the TV/computer screen .. looking at every inch of her body. Every second of tape. watching for that sign.. that only their UNTRAINED noses can spot.
OH wait her eyes are dilated. He pupils are huge.. which to the BODY language experts/detectives means she is unhappy and the break up announcement is coming.
This has been the talk for almost 7 years. Waiting.. waiting.. reading the tabloids like it is their bible. Every negative story is to be believed. anything positive is the PR machine churning to print stories to cover what the Angie detectives know and the rest of the world does not.
And the fact that she looks fab, that they look happy and together. well that is just fuel for their HATE fire.
Every celeb does a RC to promote. Brad and Angie have not been photographed in Cannes outside their work responsibilities. We have not seen their children nor them in any private moment. We saw Gwen/Gavin and their kids on Vacation. I have seen Jessica A and Katie H..all out for the world to see. But Brad/Angie doing the job of promoting their film like everyone else at Cannes.. is “seeking attention”
Some of you seriously need to get a grip and keep it.
Beyond unreasonable in your negative comments. They are STARS..and getting pics taken on the RC to promote a film is a part of that work. We don’t see them or their children everyday.

Jimmy with drugs it works the other way around to what you said. When people are on drugs, their pupils get *tiny*, not big or over-sized. So you see, she is clearly not on drugs. If she was on drugs, her pupils would be tiny. A side note is that when you are happy or see something or someone you like or love, your pupils get big (also with differences in light ie darker light = larger pupils), so clearly she is happy.

More women need to wear this color. I adore it and it looks terrific with a wide range of complexions and skin tones. Eh, the hair could be better but it’s fine. Of course her skin is like a beautiful living thing.
