Zach Galifianakis rips January Jones “everybody’s going to forget about you”

zachjanuary
Zach Galifianakis is off the not-so-short list of potential baby daddies for January Jones. First of all, he’s not married. Second, he gave details in a recent interview of their (presumably) only encounter and it did not end well. According to Zach, January told him to leave after they were talking for just ten minutes at a party. He then lit into her. Maybe she spotted a rich guy with a wedding ring across the room and didn’t want Zach ruining her game.

Back to the sex appeal — January Jones recently told us that you were the most naturally funny man she’d ever met. Would you ever consider making a move? She likes funny men…

That’s really funny because, if I remember correctly, she and I were very rude to each other. It was crazy. I was at a party — I’d never met her — and she was like, “Come sit down.” So I sit at her table and talk for 10 minutes, and she goes, “I think it’s time for you to leave now.” So I say, “January, you are an actress in a show and everybody’s going to forget about you in a few years, so f*cking be nice,” and I got up and left. And she thinks that’s funny?

If a script really demanded it, would you do a sex scene with her?

I wouldn’t want to. I’d hate it. I’ve only had to do a few of those things where you have to kiss and stuff. It’s so embarrassing.

[From The Shortlist, via E! Online]

Zach isn’t exactly saying he’s repulsed by the thought of doing a sex scene with January specifically, just that he doesn’t like to do them in general I guess.

I don’t know how I feel about this guy. I find him funny and likable when he’s in films, and I’ve actually seen his work in GForce about a dozen times thanks to the DVD my kid used to watch constantly. His standup doesn’t do it for me though. He’s earned some points with this diss to January Jones and I like that he doesn’t take himself seriously and isn’t afraid to talk smack.

Speaking of smack, Zach did some “heroin” on a recent appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher. He was just trying to top the time he allegedly smoked pot on the air, and mission accomplished. They joked that the rapture was about to hit (spoiler, it didn’t) and Zach said that “everything’s ending so let’s just do it.” You could tell that Maher never stuck the needle in Zach’s arm though.

Here’s January out on 5/23/11. She was also seen wearing a see through top recently. Classy.

Very bizarre and rude…kinda glad he called her out.

  2. xxodettexx says:

i have been waiting for you guys to cover this!! i am SO glad he called her out! serves her right for being so stuck up to him… and i watched that real time show and the whole heroin was hilariously fake but definitely gave me chuckles

[besides, who invites someone to sit with them and then rudely dismisses them like that? if she was looking for a power trip, then i am glad it came back to bite her in the @ss]

  3. Quest says:

ITA – It’s not like Zach is lying anywhohow?

In about a couple years time we would all be “UMM, is that this girl who got knocked up…ah…she acted in some flicks some years ago…can’t put my finger on it”

  4. azurea says:

    Love her socks!

  5. Dorothy#1 says:

I love him. I think he is super funny. Also he is great in the HBO show Bored to Death.

  6. Robinson says:

The 1st pic of her is scary.

  7. Isa says:

I think it’s kind of funny. At least he had the balls to say something instead of being dismissed.

Also about the rapture (spoiler-it didn’t happen) made me laugh. If you’re gonna make a prediction you should do it the right way and say, “This and this is gonna happen, but we don’t know when!” So all your little lambs will just keep waiting and waiting. And you won’t look like a fool! Genius.

As for the sheer tops: I’m pregnant right now and all of the tops I’m finding are sheer! Drives me crazy because first of all, no one wants to see that. Second, it’s too freaking hot for layers!

  8. Lenore says:

I don’t know, I’d like to know what he said in those 10 minutes – perhaps something that prompted her to tell him to leave? For all we know, she called him over to tell him how much she loved his work, and he spent ten minutes staring at her tits.

  9. tanya says:

@Lenore: ITA. I was thinking the same. Something seems off here, as in, a part of the story could very well be missing… Who knows what transpired in those 10 minutes?

I don’t know much about Zach, and I’m not some ardent JJ supporter (if anything, I’m ‘meh’ at best), but this seems a bit spiteful/tacky to me. Maybe it’s just how I read it? Who knows…

  10. P.M. says:

    Agree with Lenore.

  11. Samigirl says:

There aren’t words to say how happy this makes me. She isn’t an “A-lister” by far, but she thinks she is. She’s snooty and entitled, and I LOVE seeing her put in her place.

  12. mln76 says:

Well Zach is a little unhinged… I love him but he is very apt at getting into random feuds or spilling the beans in interviews and creating controversy… I think January shouldn’t have brought up his name but at least she was trying to be nice…Oh and why the hell is she wearing a see through top methinks she likes the baby daddy speculation.

  13. Kaboom says:

Zach is an odd bird, you’re never sure if he’s being funny or just loopy/angry. I’m also not sure how I feel about the wildlife habitat below his cheek bones.

  14. Sarah says:

He’s right cause I know who he is but I don’t have a clue who she is. I’ve heard her name on this site and others but I don’t think I’ve seen her in anything. So she’s supposed to be some hot thing, right? Ugh, whatever, her face is der.

  15. Lenore says:

@Tanya – yeah, Tacky is the right word I think. There’s virtually no detail in the story so why tell it at all except to make someone look bad, out of sheer butt-hurt spite? Tacky.

I’m no fan of either of them – I’m perfectly happy to believe that January Jones is vapid enough to behave that way. But the whole thing smacks of arrogance on his part.

Like, in a few years’ time, when she’s forgotten, he’ll be this Big Shot to whom she should “be nice” now, if she wants to still be getting roles. “Be nice” in this context just sounds like “blow me in the jacuzzi because I deserve it”.

Okay, maybe I’m overanalysing. 😀 But when his little anecdote has so little detail, it kind of begs speculation. Publicly, she’s been nothing but nice about him, after all.

  16. kasper says:

I buy it. Zack doesn’t need to get exposure off of JJ’s back. He’s a box office draw. She is not. JJ on the other hand has no qualms about getting exposure from being on her back.

  17. Riley says:

On the one hand, he kind of grosses me out for some reason, but on the other, I want to give him a big old hug, and drink a pint or two of Sam Adams with him, while we people watch at the bar. Joel Stein has a good, in depth interview with him in this week’s Time. I am not sure if I think that he is funny. He doesn’t come across as very funny on paper, but I like how he has remained a southern boy, and is still tied tightly to his North Carolina roots. I also kind of admire how he can tell people who bug him to f— off!

  18. kasper says:

    Zach is hilarious

  19. kasper says:

    @ sarah – exactly

  20. kiko says:

so the bitch ditched you and you acted like a cry baby?classy…

  21. futureperfect says:

They are great socks (and shoes). I just wish ZG would shave.

  22. futureperfect says:

I just wish ZG would shave. Love his Between Two Ferns interviews.

They are indeed great socks (and shoes).

  23. garvels says:

@lenore,@tanya-I agree. This doesn’t make sense it sounds like a big part of the story was selectively left out by Zach. I am not a big January Jones fan but I think it is really tacky when a Hollywood actor rips on another Hollywood actor’s behavior at a party.

  24. Happymom says:

Could she get herself papped anymore? I mean come on-everyday there are new photos of her out and about.

  25. futureperfect says:

I love her socks (and shoes). Wish ZG would shave that beard off.

  26. Blue says:

I agree with those who think there is something missing from this story, it just sounds odd. Also Zach is a bit of on odd duck so I dunno what to believe from him.

  27. GeekChic says:

I agree with Lenore, too. We don’t know what he said that prompted her to tell him to leave. Maybe it was nothing, or maybe he said/did something offensive. We only have one side of the story. She may have deserved it, or he may have just been acting like a complete tool.

  28. kasper says:

I don’t get all the hate for Zach. This seems totally in character for JJ. Doesn’t she seem like the kind of girl that no matter who she is speaking with is always looking around for someone more important to be seen with? She probably invited Zach over because he was the most important person within ten feet, then spotted someone more important who she could flirt/sleep with to advance her career and dismissed him as if he was nobody.

To Zach’s credit – he said they were rude to eachother – sounds about right. He doesn’t take sh*t from anyone. He only spilled the beans on the episode because she hypocritically tried to use his name to make her sound like she’s a cool chick with a sense of humour, not a stuck-up, narcissistic ice-queen.

I’m curious why she won’t reveal the baby-daddy. It has to be one of three reasons: (1) revealing the baby daddy would be really bad for her career (someone powerful who could do her damage, or sleeping with him would make her look incredibly bad); (2) not revealing the baby daddy would be really good for her career – ie. he’s someone who pulls the strings in hollywood and has promised to make her a film star; (3) she has slept with anyone whose business card reads agent, producer or director and hasn’t really kept track, so she hasn’t the foggiest clue who the baby daddy is.

  29. Embee says:

Maybe. Just maybe, she is not revealing the name of the father because he doesn’t want to be involved, and she is respecting that decision by being discreet. He may (or may not) be married/partnered…and we may never know. She is choosing to have the baby. Congrats.

And also, I think the Zach story is missing a critical piece, such as why she told him to leave. I would use the same langugae on someone who is being inappropriate/rude/offensive in a public setting. The fact that she dismissed him tells us nothing about the nature of the interaction by either party. Since then she has been gracious (she didn’t say she liked him; she said he was funny) and he has been less than gracious.

  30. TG says:

Zach looks so much like my ex boyfriend who was depressed for all the years we were together it was so horrible I finally had to leave him. So I was a bit grossed out by him, but I fell in love with him on “The Hangover” he was so funny and adorable and he is that way in everything I see him in. Too cute to resist. Wish he was my ex now. . .

  31. Rio says:

If you like Zach Galifianakis (and hot guys in 1940s Naval uniforms), watch “Below”. It’s directed by Darren…uh, “Black Swan” (I spelled “Galifianakis”, that’s all you’re getting from me!) You can see it on Netflix streaming. Z.G. has a very serious period role, and he effin’ NAILS it.

  32. kwoww says:

I stopped at 7-11 just to buy the hangover 2 cup with him on it.

  33. jc126 says:

    @Lenore – excellent points.
I’m not so sure about this guy – there’s something indefinable that I’m not sure I like.

  34. Dizzybenny says:

I dont know her so i guess it’s a bad start.
As for him,he’s the next Jack Black.
So far he’s played the same role in all his movies (like Black)and unless he takes on different roles,he will go down the same path.wich is a short career of making mediocre flicks!

  35. WOM says:

Someone who is commonly known by the nickname “That Fat Dude from The Hangover” shouldn’t be giving career advice.

Lenore’s comment is spot on. I’d like to know what transpired in those 10 minutes.

  36. danielle says:

I also think there is something missing from this story. Also, starting to think January is a nut, but oddly it makes me like her more.

  37. Shay says:

I think Zach has the same problem as Mickey Rourke has, and it’ll end up affecting his career.

    He is a TMI person.

  38. mln76 says:

@Embee do you really think January is being ‘discreet’ by walking around in a see through top while pregnant???

  39. XIOnce says:

@WOM You’ve probably been living under a rock if you think he’s just “The fat dude from the hangover” To me he’s sort of the Andy Kaufman of the new century, the odd man out who hit it big. I love his comedy & his capacity to make people so uncomfortable. I appreciate his sense of humor 🙂

  40. hateonit. says:

ok first of all why is everyone acting like hes a bad guy? do you really see the need to defend a chick whos having a baby of an unknown man? what movie/show is she even from? ive never seen or heard of her besides this story of her getting pregnant and not disclosing the name of the father. at least hes widely known for his role in hangover and has a promising career as the new jack black. im not saying hes one of my favorites i would just pick his side over hers. the grumpy thing doesnt even smile. EVER. and if you read into the story she said she liked him which was fake because obviously they had a disagreement and she wants to act like shes cool with him. what a loser like move. people are only going to know her for those things now.

  41. the original bellaluna says:

Didn’t read the article (really don’t GAF) but I’m team Zach. He’s funny, and she’s a scandalous bitch. Anyone consistently funny trumps a ho who’s a consistently married-man-f*cker.

  42. 4Real says:

4Real I won’t remember either of them by this time next year so now what?

  43. Lenore says:

    @hateonit:

“ok first of all why is everyone acting like hes a bad guy?”

Mostly, people aren’t. They’re just questioning his account of the event. (Such as it is.) It’s actually kind of a non-story, really.

“do you really see the need to defend a chick whos having a baby of an unknown man?”

Aside from the fact that people aren’t really “defending” her – we’re just not taking his word at face-value – you do realise how backward your comment, don’t you? What does the parentage of her child have to do with this? Does it automatically make her less worthy because she’s not told the whole world who the father is? That makes her a bad person?

“what movie/show is she even from?”

Mad Men. It’s rather popular, so I hear. She’s also one of the stars of the forthcoming X-Men movie.

“ive never seen or heard of her besides this story of her getting pregnant and not disclosing the name of the father. at least hes widely known for his role in hangover and has a promising career as the new jack black.”

So this makes him more likely to be telling the truth – he’s more famous?

Like I said, it’s barely even a story, so it hardly matters who believes whom – I’m just baffled by your logic here. She’s a single mother-to-be and he’s more famous than her, therefore when he badmouths her in an interview, he must be right?

  44. Amanda G says:

I like him and his stand up is funny, but I think he’ll end up playing the same character (aka himself) in every movie he’s in.

  45. Kim says:

I dont like January but since we are only hearing 1 side of the story who knows. Zack has been coming off like the bitchy gay he is lately.

  46. Lilly says:

He may be joking. If he isn’t joking, then he’s not telling the WHOLE story. And you can’t say that January looks bad at all here.

First, she invites him to sit down and talk to her. If she were such a stuck-up brat, then she wouldn’t be nice in the first place.

Second, what did he say to her? For all we know, he could have asked for a BJ in exchange for a part in Hangover 3.

THIRD, his reaction–“you are a nobody” says a lot. It says he really think he’s something–hello EGO! Honestly, he sounds like a little boy who didn’t get his way with the pretty girl, and now he’s going to make her pay. Very childish.

  47. Embee says:

@mln76: as regards the paternity of her child, yes she has been the epitome of discreet.

I’m confused what her outfit has to do twith this.

  48. DreamyK says:

I enjoy his stand up comedy. He does cerebral and infantile in turns. He jokes about going to his school reunion and being the only one standing by the punch bowl and then reveals he was homeschooled. Funny stuff. JJ got pawned by Zach. I wish more celebs would call out these snobby “don’t you know who I am” types.

  49. jenni says:

He seems like he could just as easily be the real jerk. Who knows what way he could’ve been trying to steer the conversation? Some guys get huffy if you are friendly but (in their minds) get all “stuck up” on them when you have boundaries, like not wanting to talk about your privates or theirs. Because you’ve only known them 5 minutes. And forevermore in their minds afterward, you’re a B****. His need to vent to the public about her and the level of meanness of his tell-off? – He’s gotta be at least 35, WTH, overreaction. He acts like she kicked his puppy. Also did anyone ever see the video he is in of Fiona Apple’s? “Not About Love”? It’s supposed to be funny but he seems so unhinged. I think he pushes her in some parts, and she’s laughing but it just feels off to me.– It’s unnerving. At least J.Jones has the type personality where she tries to keep things cool with everybody. I don’t see how that reflects poorly on her, it’s actually a mature trait that she tried to say something nice about the guy when asked about him. I don’t think you could be female and successful in Hollywood for long if you didn’t have a really thick skin.

  50. ACrow says:

Lenore has this conversation wrapped up and tied in a little bow. This is such a vague non-story with so little detail that taking sides is petty and pointless. I like both of them, and my opinions on both are not affected one way or another.

I am also personally certain that if any of us were famous, we could probably count on the least little interaction with another person being blown way out of proportion and our personalities being speculated upon at length due to said minor interaction. The people I know consider me to be a nice, relatable person (as I certainly try to be) but that doesn’t necessarily mean I have never blown off someone who I wasn’t interested in talking to at a bar.

  51. spotchecker says:

that’s a shame. they could’ve had interesting looking children.

  52. dj says:

His story rings true because of her weird interview (forget which magazine) “I prefer to be alone….” Objectively, it sounds like she would be tired of anyone eventually and “dismiss” them.

  53. tvcon says:

We aren’t getting the whole story period. We don’t know what he said and that’s NOT defending her. There are many reports that she is nothing but a bitch.

  54. jenni says:

@ACrow True but he seems to have an investment in humiliating/disparaging her. I mean if he really had said all that in the first place, job done. I doubt he’d be wasting more breath on her if he really had such a low opinion of her. Instead he remembers/recites this extended tell off word for word. That’s weird. Maybe he didn’t even really say all that. Maybe that was in his mind and he wished he’d said it so he’s saying it now. There I just figured it out.

  55. Chris says:

“They joked that the rapture was about to hit (spoiler, it didn’t)”

Perhaps the Rapture did happen. Perhaps the true believers were taken up to Heaven and God left soulless clones of them behind to speak and act like they would have if the Rapture didn’t happen. Just sayin.

  56. starling says:

Considering Zack G was the reason Mel Gibson’s cameo was cancelled in the Hangover 2 – I find it hard to believe he’d be disrespectful towards women, maybe it’s just me. And as mentioned he says they were rude to each other. But quite frankly January Jones rubs me the wrong way, her interviews seem to be a lot of ‘Pity me I’m beautful’ comments. I do think she’s playing the baby daddy card to benefit her career ie her sheer shirt and constant pics – I find it hard to believe someone like Julia Roberts can go somewhat under the wire in LA but JJ can’t? sure.

  57. futureperfect says:

This is the definition of nonstory. The only dramatic contents of this nonstory are:

    1) January Jones’ socks. They’re lovely.

    2) Zach Galfina…. fuck it…. He needs to shave that beard off. It’s probably eroded his chin by this point.

  58. mln76 says:

@Embee today was the press conference for X-men (Directed by the rumored Baby-Daddy) She’s noticeably absent instead she made sure she was papped with her barely pregnant belly exposed in a sheer shirt… You do the math 😉

  59. Gigohead says:

Don’t particularly like either she or he at this point so I can’t say I root for one or the other. But Zach doesn’t come clean and say what he said to her that caused her to ask him to leave. You never know if he made a nasty sexist remark which he won’t share. Heck, he may have asked her to go to his place for romp, but if she can’t find it to do it with this caveman, that’s her prerogative. Fork up the real fact, Zach.

  60. kasper says:

    @min76 the math adds up

  61. Catherine says:

And it was necessary of him to call her out because…? Honestly, did he think he was doing something for the greater good? It just made him sound like a fool for even talking of her supposed behavior. I am no fan of hers but this is like finger-pointing on the school playground.

  62. r u ok miss says:
