I know we’ve already done one Pippa Middleton story today – go here to read it. That one was about how Pippa has seriously and officially dumped Alex Loudon and how she’s already spending the night, duchess-style, with her ex, George Percy, who is the future Duke of Northumberland. Anyway, this new story is this week’s Us Weekly cover story: Prince Harry and Pippa, will they ever happen? My answer is now and has always been “no”. Pippa is simply not Harry’s “type”. Yes, he has a reputation as a prince who is up for anything (he’s sort of like a ginger Gerard Butler with a title), but Harry always seems to gravitate towards trashy blondes, not the perky brunettes. I will maintain that, forever. Anyway, Us Weekly just seems to be saying the same thing – that Pippa and Harry are friendly, but that the “romance” is a no-go.
Did Pippa and Harry go on a secret date? Why did she leave her boyfriend? And is he REALLY over Chelsy?
We fell in love with Pippa Middleton & Prince Harry‘s flirtation at the Royal Wedding, but now it seems like more and more obstacles are falling in the way of a romance between them!
First off, it seems both parties are hung up on their exes. Harry, 26, recently broke things off with his girlfriend Chelsy Davy, although Us Weekly reports they’re still friendly.
“Chelsy and Harry are still very happy,” the source says.Also, although Pippa, 27, called things off with Alex Loudon, she’s been spending plenty of romantic time with another ex, the super-rich George Percy.
Furthermore, even if Pippa and Harry were to get together, Pippa and Chelsy are friendly enough that any romance would cause waves between these BFFs.
“Pippa is fairly chummy with Chelsy,” a source says. “So it would be a bit awkward if anything were going on with Harry.”
But perhaps the biggest obstacle is that while Pippa and Harry have a good time joking together at royal functions, there simply isn’t too much opportunity for them to hang out!
“While they are close in the sense that they are brother- and sister-in-law, they’re not hanging out like friends,” another source tells the magazine.
Whatever the cost, we’re still holding hope that this beautiful pair will have a royal wedding of their own someday!

This goes back to the discussion I was having about Pippa earlier – just how pushy and ambitious is she? My take: Pippa is very, very ambitious. She wants to do as well as her sister, but that’s kind of impossible (because Kate will be queen one day). So for know Pippa’s ambitions are more attainable – like working her way back into a romance with the future Duke of Northumberland. She will not only be a duchess, she’ll have married “up” and married “rich”. She’ll get to wear pretty clothes and have her photo taken and she’ll be one of the titled women that gets invited to all of the functions where Kate will be. I say Pippa should just keep her eye on the ball and not mess with the Ginger Prince. He will only lead to heartbreak.

I don’t know why people are calling her a social climber and ambitious. Her parents are incredibly rich, she went to a very prestigeous school and was already friends with a lot of “high bred” people. She’s not exactly trailor trash moving up in the world.

ok, I’m not from the UK, but I’ve seen a lot of Period drama’s in my life and it mostly revolves around class, offspring and then money. So now I am finding myself in some modern version of a Jane Austen novel where tanning spray and eyeliner are a major give away on her lower “status” in society. (?)

I really have no idea, but I think it is the difference between having a title and not having one. Social climbers marry into being a lady, a countess, a duchess, a princess rather being born into those titles. In the US, social climbers seem to be after money and status; elsewhere, the real earmark of money and status is the title.

@ Mag…..ummmm, multi-millionaires aren’t generally ‘middle class’ in the UK and I’ll think you’ll find that pots of money or lack of it does mean something….

Middle class in the UK is not the same as it is here in the States! It took me ages to understand why people in non professional jobs and earning $30k a year thought they were middle class here …
Class is just that – class ie, Money has nothing to do with it.
Upper class is title and the corresponding land – could be as poor as a church mouse.
Middle class is professional (ie doctor, lawyer, business owner)
Working class is blue collar or salaried workers – office admins etc
The Middleton’s are MOST DEFINITELY middle class, even if Pippa and Kate “hang” with the Hooray Henrys (or Harrys)!!!!

Kate is a truly beautiful girl. Pippa is like a blurred Xerox copy of her sister. Kate always looks graceful. Pippa looks like a solid block of concrete; not big, just rocky. The born princess got the born prince. Pippa is just another English girl, and boring.
