‘A Dangerous Method’ trailer: Michael Fassbender, spanking & Viggo!

dm2

Is director David Cronenberg gay? I don’t know if he is, but at this point, I’m thinking that at the very least, he’s bicurious with absolutely wonderful taste in gentlemen. Cronenberg has directed a film called A Dangerous Method, and it is a buffet of hotness. Michael Fassbender (MY FASSIE) takes the lead role as Carl Jung. Viggo Mortensen plays Sigmund Freud. Vincent Cassel plays Unknown Horny Dude (“Otto Gross”). And as for the ladies amongst this buffet… there’s an emaciated-looking Keira Knightley. I can’t believe that every new set of Angelina Jolie photos brings a chorus of “She’s too skinny!” while Keira continues to look like a bobble-headed scarecrow with little reaction.

Anyway, A Dangerous Method is about the birth of psychoanalysis, and the professional friendship that existed between Freud and Jung. As you can see from the trailer, Carl Jung has a wife (played by some blonde hussy that I don’t even want to discuss, it’s so depressing), and he begins having some kind of S&M affair with Keira’s character, a patient of Jung’s. He spanks her!!! This is seriously what I needed today:

SPANK IT. Sorry, I thought I was alone for a moment. I like how Fassie/Jung added a little dramatic flourish with his spanking. He’s an actor’s actor. As for Fassbender’s little mustache… eh. I know it’s historically accurate, but he looks so much better with a full beard or a clean shaven. Viggo, on the other hand, can do any kind of facial hair and still look like a dirty, sexy bastard. And Vincent… I don’t even know what’s going on with him. Random horny dude… sure.

Fassbender, Viggo, spanking…. is there anything else to say? I’m on my way to buy a ticket for this movie right now.

Looks like a good movie – I’ll def be seeing it.

love, Love, LOVE Viggo!! Any time, any day, all day long! :D

@ Kaiser – Keira’s always been an anorexic-looking thing, so I don’t think we have the same “concern” about her being so skinny. With AJ, it’s concerning because she’s not always been that thin, and she has her 6 little ones to keep up with.

Are you kidding? Angelina makes Keira look like Kirstie Alley.

Cosign on Keira reaching a new low in the weight department.

Oh, FINALLY this movie is coming out. At this point, I hope Viggo will win an Academy Award for the role of Freud, he really deserves it (just like Jeremy Irons with Dead Ringers). As for Keira…MEH. I’ve never understand her hype, in beauty nor in acting, overrated in everything. Plus, she’s been called for her thinness many times, but people have stopped: her last set of photos (when she’s in a bikini) shows that she has a very bony top but normal legs, so…she’s just a very slim pear shape with horrible posture.

  9. N.D. says:

Actually Keira does get a lot of this “TOO OMG THIN!” crap thrown on her.

Both women are thin, sure, but they both were always that way. More or less.

Some people are thin. Just like some other are bigger than average. Do we really need to hate on either group (masking it as “consern”)? Can we accept that everyone is unique and just because they’re not like us or not quite fit into the “norm” or “ideal” doesn’t mean they are sick or ugly or whatever. What good it does to anyone to bully them into “the right weight”?

luls: what’s offensive to you? Sex?
I can’t believe that in this age people are still so puritanical about that. As long as it’s between consensual adults there’s nothing wrong with it.

  11. RocketMerry says:

I WILL watch this! Oh, yeah.
Ps. I think the difference between Angelina and Keira is that the latter always was very skinny, from her very first movies (not that I think she’s completely healthy: she probably does eat very little). Angie, on the contrary, had a very curvy figure and then lost lots of weight (although I don’t necessarily think she’s unhealthy, she probably does eat very little).

Keira has always been skinny. Some girls are just skinny, but with Angie we have seen her with more meat on her bones. I guess we just liked her with more meat on her bones :p

Alot of beautiful people but the trailer doesn’t make me think its any good. I am really confused and Keira Knightly was over acting her ass off but I love her. Is the movie about the beginnings of S&M? LOL

Kaiser, I want you to know I didn’t even know who Michael Fassbender was before you. Seen Jane Eyre and X-Men and I’m now in LOVE with the man so you must share him. This movie looks fantastic … I love Viggo and him and Michael together in a movie … I don’t even know what to say. I’m not a big fan of Keira but she looks good in the trailer so I don’t think she’ll ruin it. All I know is I’m seeing this … talk about a girl porn movie.

A smorgasboard of hunkiness! Wonder what the real Freud would make of our lusty silliness over these men….

Viggo is evolving into Ed Harris territory: a versatile chameleon who is always solid, no matter the role. Love him! (And the Fassbender ain’t so bad, either, but Viggo’s got 20 yrs more experience under his belt.)

  22. Twez says:

Cronenberg directing my lover Viggo Mortensen as a far-hotter-than-historical SIGMUND FREUD, with Michael Fassbender as a movie star Carl Jung? all about Sabina Spielrein and envisioning how she and Jung had hot hot sex, with the underlying theme of her theories of the sex drive as both destructive and transformative? WITH SPANKING?!? It’s like this movie was made JUST FOR ME.

I hope the movie actually does depict Spielrein as the complicated and brilliant woman she was, and not just as Jung’s tragic lost love.

I dont know if Cronenberg is gay but I do know he shoots some amazingly raw sex scenes. The one with Mario Bello and Viggo in A History of Violence was simply unforgettable.

Vincent Cassel = “unknown horny dude”….

Not SO unknown within the world of psycho analysis:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otto_Gross

The life of Otto Gross delivers enough action for his own movie.

Unfortunately Vincent sports this beard – that’s due to the fact that he was filming “The Monk” at the same time and there the beard was required.
Doesn’t matter – he’s hot as always. You all can have Viggo and Michael: more Vinz for ME!

@h: If calling me puritanical is supposed to be an insult, try again please.

I found the plot offensive because he’s taking sexual advantage of his PATIENT, who CLEARLY has major mental issues. Not to mention that he’s MARRIED to someone else, to boot.

I’m the last person to be offended by ‘sex’, in and of itself.

But obviously you weren’t paying attention to the trailer. Or you’ve got a VERY low moral barometer.

  29. Leni says:

Twez- I agree. I resent her having been ‘forgotten’ when she was as importnat as freud and Jung in her own right. I think that Sabina did not become intimatly involved with Jung until after her ‘recovery’. He must have had charisma as he was not exactly attractive-forgive me Fassbender has nothing on Viggo. I understand the mentor-pupil attraction but I would have thought Freud more interesting-my bias.
Either way I think Keira is too fragile looking to play a strong women-as Sabine ultimately was.

luls: are you setting the barometar for morals?
This is based on a true story, just because the morals of the film offend you doesn’t make it any less interesting.
You must be one of those people who ignores everything that you consider immoral.
