Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are inevitably having marriage problems

wenn5667906
We’ve heard for some time that Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are having problems, and it’s to be expected given their history together. Star Magazine writes that things are pretty chilly between them lately, and that Tori dropped some major hints that she’s having marriage problems in a recent blog entry in which she gave advice for surviving relationship trouble, and seemed to say that she’d been experiencing plenty of it herself.

The tension between Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott was visible when they took their tots Liam and Stella to an amusement park on Centre Island, near Toronto, on June 17. “When they all headed to a ferry, Tori and Dean, 44, didn’t interact at all,” an eye witness tells Star. “They were walking so far apart, you’d never know they were together.” In a June 14 blog post, a distraught Tori, 38, had admitted that life with her husband of five years has been tough lately… she’s been deeply preoccupied with her marital issues.

[From Star Magazine, print edition, July 4, 2012]

Tori Spelling better watch out. Her husband had no problem leaving his then-wife for her right after they’d adopted a baby together, so it’s not like having another child is going to keep him with her. Still, I think this is overblown. Every couple has their problems and if marriage was easy the divorce rate wouldn’t be so damn high. These two will stay together as long as they need each other for their reality show careers. Dean knows he’s not going to be able to trade up from Tori for some time.

    Oh the problems of famewhores!

  2. LL says:

Being preg is not an excuse to dress fugtastic. She looks ridiculous in every photo.

  3. That girl says:

That guys not going anywhere. I get the fame whore vibe from him big time. Tori’s the fame. IMO.

  4. Sumodo1 says:

I guess their new series is ready to hatch, which is always when you hear Tori and Dean “marital issues” shite.

  5. Jezi says:

They annoy me. I never liked the way they began. But after the beginning drama they learned to take it down a notch so people would forget a bit. I still haven’t and I’m sure karma will come and get em soon enough. Although, now they have kids so I don’t know what to think.

  6. Jen says:

I don’t like them; I think they are way too smug for how their relationship started and how they hurt their partners.

But, marriage isn’t a fairy tale where everyone runs around smiling and holding hands all the time. Especially if they are traipsing after two kids at an amusement park.

  7. lucy2 says:

I doubt he’ll ever ditch her like he did to wife #1, because he needs her fame. But I wouldn’t be surprised if someday she caught him messing around.

  8. Dorothy says:

I agree @That Girl, famewhores are so narcissistic until it bites! 🙁

  9. Rhiley says:

Tori doesn’t grate my nerves like she does some people, but I am not sure what she ever saw in this guy. Honestly, he makes Eddie Rimes look like a total hot piece of princely deliciousness. This dude is such a dead beat, and I think the only reason he married Tori is he thought she was going to get Daddy’s millions and millions and that didn’t pan out. So I think you are right, CB, they will stick it out as long as there is money to be made.

  10. Jackson says:

The guy skeeves me out. And LOL at the two of them ‘not interacting’ on their way to a ferry. Real life is not one long PDA.

  11. GeekChic says:

I don’t understand why people don’t have the hate for Tori that they do for Leann. Tori did the exact same thing, she cheated, she helped break up a family, and Dean is every bit the douche that Eddie is, maybe even worse since he abandoned fully that baby that he helped adopt. Tori is every bit as narcissistic and in your face as Leann with all of her books, blogs, interviews, and reality shows. She plays the victim just as much as Leann, as well, and has gone on record about how she and Dean were soulmates so their cheating was somehow justified.

Don’t get me wrong — I don’t like Leann at all (although sometimes people are so vicious that I feel the need to defend her, which irritates me to no end because, ugh, it’s like defending a cockroach). But shouldn’t people dislike Tori just as much as they dislike Leann? I don’t get the disparity.

  12. Lindsay says:

ugh its amazing that the only thing that bugged me was how “centre island near toronto”…. its IN toronto…. ppl need to do some research …

  13. Elizabeth says:

    @ GeekChic
I agree that Tori pimps herself and her family out. I would never watch her shows or buy her books – no interest there. However you have to understand she is the sole support for all of them. She too was expecting millions and then found she actually had to work to pay the mortgage, etc.. I always got the impression she tries hard to please (with not much talent though). I feel bad for her – a dead weight husband and ripped off by her mother from her inheritance.

  14. Smc says:

I think tori doesnt get the flack leann gets bc tori doesnt encourage people to antagonize the ex wife like leann does. I dont even have a twitter but when I look at it after leann story im shocked leann would associate with those people. Tori is more mature in that sense so il give her that.

  15. Carol says:

@ GeekChic, I haven’t forgotten, and I think Tori/Dean are much worse than Leann/Eddie. Both couples are low class, but Tori publicly mocked Mary Jo’s infertility issues while Mary Jo was scrambling to be able to complete the adoption of her daughter after Dean’s desertion.

@Elizabeth, no one is entitled to an inheritance. Aaron chose to leave most of his money to his wife, a very common decision. Candy didn’t rip off anyone. It was Tori’s stupid decision to spend money she didn’t have that caused her money problems. And, oh, wouldn’t we all love to think a $1 million inheritance is peanuts that throws us into financial difficulty. I hope Tori and Dean work it out only so that they don’t have the opportunity to inflict their misery on any other people.

And @Rhiley, “he makes Eddie Rimes look like a total hot piece of princely deliciousness.” I have to find a way to work that into my everyday conversation. Awesome!

  16. Beth says:

Lord love a duck, I hope she gets those horrible boobs fixed after baby #3. Those things are horrifying to see. *shudder*

  17. original kate says:

gross and grosser. their kids are cute, though.

  18. blondie says:

They are just as bad as LeAnn and Eddie and I have as much disdain for Tori and Dean as I do for them. It’s the same s*** just in a messed up boob package.

  19. Mrs. Odie 2 says:

I just recently made my will. I left everything to my spouse. That’s pretty typical. When Candy dies, she can expect to inherit along with her brother. I think it’s weird people expected Tori to get Aaron’s billions while his widow still lived. I am sure that these marital problems will be mined on their next show and in her next book. Happiness is never interesting for long. Stories need conflict. Tori made the mistake of being a freak in the bedroom to snatch Dean away from his wife, then once he had those sex three times a day expectations, she turned into a prude. Big mistake. But one I too have made, so I understand.

  20. Maritza says:

Wow, his oldest son is as big as he is. I sure wish they work things out, I like these two together and their kids are adorable.

  21. Bill Hicks is God says:

    @ Lindsay: Exactly, and thank-you!

  22. Annie_Grey says:

Dean is so creepy. Got a feeling this guy has some skeletons in his closet.

  23. Jo 'Mama' Besser says:

@smc: I’m not too sure about that, I think they just chose different media tacks. There’s this clammy ‘You must love me, now. PLEASE!!’ flop-sweaty quality they have that makes you (me) want to back out of a room slowly then break into a full fun when the coast is clear. If you’re from Canada, you probably saw more Wicked Witch of the Nepotism Zip Code gossiping then you did if you’re from America. She wasn’t ‘Polkaroo’ or ‘Today’s Special’-level local reverence, but there was a chance that you were somewhat familiar with the show she did with a chef (R.I.P. Ken Kostic). Or you weren’t–it was on cable, you know? People were just waiting for Spelling to say or do something untoward, and luckily (for a while) they gave each what they wanted before moving on to the next cycle of teeny-boppers and adulterers.

  24. r u ok miss says:

Hmmm… perhaps it’s time for Tori to become a UN Ambassador… so that in a year or so most of this deep-seated animosity towards her will vanish like magic…e.g. Saint Tori…e.g. “I don’t want to piss off the Toriloonies, but…” I kinda like it. Thoughts?

  25. Amanda G says:

So because they weren’t groping each other in the park that means they are having marital problems? Ridiculous.

Anyway, Tori is his paycheck while he plays all day with motorcycles so he definitely won’t be leaving her.

  26. fannomore says:

I smell another book coming from Tori, why is she looking more and more like a kewpie doll?

  27. Ally says:

Well, they’re doing that wedding planning show. Maybe attending all those weddings makes them realize how far they’ve declined from their own wedding-day ideals for the relationship.

He’s totes the kind of fella who’ll want spousal support, though. Tori better hire herself a good set of attorneys/accountants to start protecting the assets.

Dean will probably end up on a reality show with Slade Smiley and Michael Lohan.

  28. nicole says:

Please. Those two adore each other. We all go through rough patches, we are human. If you say you dont, you’re lying. I dont see them breaking up at all.

  29. Andi says:

Hasn’t Dean heard of sunblock? These two really got the shit end of the stick in the looks department.

  30. Abby says:

I’ve always got the “douche” vibe from him, not cute, not personable, more opportunistic than anything. I hope they can work it out.

Does anyone think as she gets older, she looks like Nancy Grace?

  31. Susan says:

I actually like these two…I am going through some marriage troubles of my own….no cheating or anything like that…marriage is just hard work…I hope they make it last…

  32. Annie_Grey says:

    andi- Was just thinking that.

Dean always looks like he just came off a coke binge.

  33. Kiska says:

I like Tori but never liked Dean. He has no soul that one. He’d probably double-cross is own mother if it gained him more fame or money. He is a douchebag and as fake as they come.
