Oh. My. God. I cannot believe how amazing Ryan Gosling’s new film looks. Previously, I had seen some clips of Drive which came out when the film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Now I think the film is going to be promoted at Comic-Con, and they’ve just released the Red Band trailer. It looks SO GOOD. Here you go:
I mean… when he pushes Carey Mulligan against the wall of the elevator and kisses her. When he’s threatening Christina Hendricks. When he’s being all badass behind the wheel. When he’s about to HAMMER a bullet into someone skull. Yes. Dear God, yes. My goodness. *fans biscuits*
You know what I really think? I think this could Ryan’s big chance to try and succeed to become the most versatile leading man of his generation. We already know he can do straight drama. We know he can do romance, we know he can do thriller. With Crazy, Stupid, Love, he’s doing romantic-comedy. And now with Drive, he’s doing action-drama. While Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal seem to be failing, career-wise, to find a fan base, the Gosdong is just quietly making some really, really great career choices.

Great trailer. Hope they keep the acting and plot as the mainstay of the movie and don’t loose it to the driving scenes. BTW, that suit is cracks (not sure what that means but it’s chuckles). The Gosdong’s getting bigger…I mean his star is shining brighter.

I thought he was kind of blah until I saw how adorable and funny he was on Ellen and other places. I hope he’s successful–he seems like a quality guy. Lord knows Hollywood could use a few more of those.

He is the best Hollywood film actor of his generation, and the best PR guy too. He’s great in an interview, polite & generous with fans and industry staffers. Hoping the best for him. He deserves acclaim, popularity, etc. Good guy. And imagine, on top of Crazy Stupid Love and Drive, he has the Clooney vehicle Ides of March about to Drop. Really, the guy hasn’t taken a wrong step in years.

Ryans movie role choices and his acting just keep getting better and better.I saw the movie Blue Valentine a month ago and I couldn’t stop myself from crying over the ending.How he was over looked for an Oscar nod for his performance in this movie I’ll never know.Hopefully Ryan will receive an Oscar nod for either Drive or The Ides of March which are both highly anticipated films.

He is a really good actor and I always appreciate that. Love his sense of style, appreicate that. He’s good looking, but I never thought he was hot. Until….I saw him on the WB backlot, oh holy hell is he hot in person. Charming, pretty, and those eyes. I really appreciate his entire body now.

I personally hope he never breaks out into the biggest thing ever. I don’t want to watch his movies and be hyper-aware it’s Gosling and not a character. The best part about him is how he disappears into his roles. He’s making some great choices so far and I hope he continues to do so.

@ mags The movie Half Nelson was on T.V. a couple of weeks ago so I decided to watch it because of all the great reviews I kept hearing about it .I must say, I was completely blow away by this movie,I couldn’t take my eyes of the screen for one minute for fear of missing something really good.It was right then and there I became a Ryan Gosling fan.

He’s really made some great career decisions, and has done a fantastic job in every role I’ve ever seen him in. This one looks very good too. I hope he continues to pick interesting films, and that no one talks him into some goofy crap like Ryan Reynolds and that Green Lantern thing.

Looks like some nice vintage cinematography here. Reminds me a bit of those great 70s Robert Redford movies like Little Fauss and Big Halsy, The Hot Rock or Downhill Racer.
Except Redford was 10 times swoonier than Gosling (/ducks).
This looks good, but I’m to faint-hearted to watch it in the cinema. Will have to wait for DVD/on-demand.

Ryan has been doing great movies and interesting roles over the years. I have been following it for a while. Remember when he did murder by numbers and Sandra Bullock and him were an item?

I’ve seriously watched this trailer 10 times now. As a raging fan of Deathproof and Bullitt, I would be beyond excited for this even if My husband, The Gos WASN’T in it. Throw Gos in and this is a wet dream for me. Sept 16th can’t come soon enough!!

Lucy2; Actually, if I’m not mistaken, he was interviewed for Green Lantern and was not selected. Actors very often do not ‘make choices’. They only get what comes their way.

I was scrolling down the thread while hoping to find at least one comment that didn’t say he was super hot so I could agree with it. Since I couldn’t find it I guess I’ll have to be the only one here saying he’s unattractive.
